Thank you for this video. I am trying to build a Tripod Hoist Head out of wood. There’s tons of other ways to build one but I cannot afford steel or cast iron Hoist Heads. I made a hexagonal tree bench 5 years ago but I know the angles aren’t perfect or square. I believe a hexagon block(reinforced with plywood or other stuff) will help in building my hoist. I will be using it with a 2 ton chain hoist to pull out the rootball if plants in my yard. The top face will be the hexagon and the sides will be at an angle to support three 4”X4” studs or landscape Timber’s. The first step is to design the hoist head. Thanks again. Reg

I ended up purchasing tripod hoists from Pierre Ménard. He had built some excellent tripod hoists and incorporated the use of metal hexagons. I don’t have the space for welding equipment and I have tons of other projects going on. I will build items with hexagons. Thanks.
