With 1000hp I think the last thing you would also wanna do is accidentally miss shift doing a pull especially if you have a v160 6spd 😬 I hear those aren't cheap with the sequential you won't have to worry about hunting down parts and you'll be able to shift lighting fast

Absolutely man. I’m running a built th400 as well on my 2014 GT500 with a built motor and KB 4.7 blower and really like it. I have a/c as well. Like you said, much faster with a built auto vs. manual, and fun with the manual transbrake. It’s like a manual with no clutch, still pulling gears and no boost drop off.
People just need to try it out to understand it. It’s absolutely amazing.

@@boostedproject I currently have 3.9 ratio so the rpms are nuts lol, looking at options for the sc430 diff 3.26 ratio. Probably will stay 26ish drag radials.
Just seeing this, i love the car, well built, but i like the aspect of banging gears, thats just my personal opinon, dont get me wrong, amazing car but, ,i just like the full 5 speed,
That is why the red supra will stay manual. We will have the best of both worlds.

Just your regular maintenance. Oil change and filter. And no issues at all thankfully. I haven’t had any problems with my Supra. Except for it wasting so much fuel haha.

The first time I saw your video I never thought it was sequential because most sequential cars I've heard you can hear the clank or jitter from the sequential
It works similar to one. Yeah I hate all that noise.

Honestly that is all up to your preference. I love manuals for anything that is 800hp or below. Anything above that I would go with an auto or something like my setup.

can you shift above 3? cuz there are gear numbers till 6 if I'm not wrong on the stick.
The stick is the stock one, the transmission is not, it's a three speed semiautomatic, the real stuff.
This is the best transmission possible, those fast and furious types with countless gears are useless on a 1k+ HP car...
The only thing that is not perfect is the downshifting procedure, but i think it can be improved with a software fuel cutoff.

When you start the car you need to press the clutch to go between park and 1st, or you just can shift directly to 1st? Idk anything about sequential trans
This doesn't have a clutch. It works similar to a sequential but isn't a true sequential.
Hope one day i own one. Here in Malaysia, it cost us hundred thousand for a supra and mostly it’s automatic 😂

When you let go of the gas while driving it seems that the RPMs just suddenly drop all the way down instead of staying up. Does it disengage or something??
It lets off the converter. Almost down to idle depending on what gear I am in.

There isn't a clutch.

Trans is from ATF. Shift knob is the factory one.

If I forget, I just shift up to 3rd gear and downshift from there.

Ninja turtle it is much much faster. There is literally no boost drop when you shift it.
But how will you put it in forth!? So you don't have a forth gear?
1-3rd only. No need for 4th when 3rd gear will go over 200mph

Manual valve body. It will never shift on its own. I have to shift it as you can see in the video.

Boosted Project thx, you convinced me to go with this setup in my Saturn sky 2jz project. Looking to make 1000hp with a built th400, custom driveshaft, axles, and built differential. Is it an off the shelf shifter like a quicksilver or similar? Thx again and keep up the great videos, I just moved from Houston to Ohio and I do not miss that southern heat lol.
Zer0 Automotive b&m shifter. And man that is awesome! You won’t regret it. I installed this same setup on my mustang. I love it and would never go back to a 6 speed. At least not on fast cars like these.
Boosted Project do you remember if it was a B&M pro matic or quicksilver specifically? Those two look to be the only two that look and function like yours which would be perfect in the sky.
