- Transforming organisations to withstand major market shifts has long been a key leadership task. That task has in recent years become even more critical as positive and negative disruptions multiply. The Covid-19 pandemic caused huge disruption to supply chains, but it also massively accelerated digitalisation while introducing completely new ways of working and connecting with customers.
War in Ukraine has fuelled geopolitical tensions and exacerbated the threat of a global recession, but it has also demonstrated the power of international cooperation and illustrated the importance of resilience in the face of disruption.
How can organisations be ready to transform continuously as new disruptive forces emerge? Given that a proportion of new ideas will normally under-perform, how can executives responsible for transformation mitigate the risks of failure, deal with damage and learn from mistakes? How can leaders engage with employees to support successful transformation? How can the culture of transformation shift from reactive to proactive, with an emphasis on identifying and cultivating the leadership skills that matter most?
