Calling literally thousands of years of scholarship and study, plus literally billions of believers, many of whom were/are some of the most well-educated people in the world, all insane, is one of the most insanely arrogant things I've seen anyone say in my entire life, @BBoldGaming. In my seeking God over the past years, I've run across his accounts of what he thinks. It always disturbed me since I did believe in God, I just didn't have the relationship with Jesus. Billy sowed some doubt in my mind, and made me question things. Thankfully, I didn't fall victim to it. I was baptized earlier this year, and I've never been happier. Praise the Lord!

Ok I don’t like 90 percent of Billy’s arrogance but if you actually know how to research the small truths in what he says, it leads you to the actual truth. I have spent 10y plus a BS degree in mostly religion and history studying this stuff, that might be why I know what he is throwing out there trying to sound smart. Basically I see more and more ppl trying to de bunk Billy instead of finding the true in what he’s saying. The truth reads totally different from the Bible story.

@@AMIIC92 the heart breaking truth is we are missing Gods story. All bibles in all religions copy, barrow the key hero moments from the Sumerian tablets. The reason all of ppl don’t know about the Sumerian tablets is they were dug up in Egypt in 1850 when they were trying to prove the locations in the Bible were accurate. When translating they did real ease or publish them until the 90s and 2014. The 3 men who spent 50-60 years translating them died and their students tried to release the tablets as a movie and the movie was banned in the entire world do to what the main tablets say. Now that why currently all over RUclips you can find all the stories of the Anunaki and the writing is confirmed to be 2-5000 years older then the genius bible story that was also copied but fairy taled up verse the original story . The Sumerian tablets are officially the oldest writings on the planet. All your major heroes and event are in them some with same names and others with different names and again they are thousands of years older then any bible in any religion. Lastly the Anunaki do speak of God in 3 stories, the flood and saying abram (instead of Abraham) bloodline. All of the Bible’s are about the main Anunaki pretending to be God or Gods who in the last Sumerian tablets were punished by the real god. The Sumerian tablets make everything make since unlike the Bible that read like a magical fairy tale. Also the issues with the Bible being wrong is mostly because of the complications in translating the dead language of Hebrew. The language didn’t not evolve and turning it to Greek, then Italian, then to old man English lost a lot in translation

I really needed this. I watched one random video of Billy Carson and it wasn't a biblical video or anything, but my spirit was disturbed by him. There was just something about him that I wasn't comfortable with.

Carson isn't teaching anything original, so it's odd to call them "his thoughts". There isn't anything to really add to what the Bible teaches, you don't need Carson's brand in order to honor/serve God.
“His thoughts” don’t have to be original to agree or disagree. Have you never agreed (or disagreed) with person A who had a similar opinion or view as person B? How then would you describe your agreement?
Does the Bible not have mystery? Are there not things in the Bible that are unexplained? For instance the “days” of which Earth was created in Genesis? I chose to believe that “day one” doesn’t have to necessarily mean 24 hours, especially considering God is literally creating light and dark at the time.
Further, my beliefs aren’t really yours to debate. Especially if you can’t fathom how someone could believe that the Bible can be wholly true but not fully understood(by anyone).

I want to point out that it is interesting that the Hebrew term Elohim can refer to one or multiple when the definition of the word is god. That implies there were ideas of multiple gods, and if you acknowledge other religions like Sumerian or Hinduism, most religions acknowledge the idea of multiple gods. My point is it very intersting a religion built on the idea of one god also implies there could be multiple gods.

There are many scholars that can make him look foolish, but Hiesers knowledge of Middle Eastern ancient languages isn't something that many biblical scholars(with social media fame)have. But besides his knowledge, his demeanor in the delivery of information would destroy Carson in a scholarly debate. I like Heiser, but I don't think he's the only person who could destroy Carson. I do believe, however, that he could have destroyed Carson into irrelevance.

When was the Bible written and by who
Context and translation matters!
When most English speakers hear that a person has “seized” another person, we necessarily jump to the conclusion that it is a violent action against the will of the other person. This problem has been aggravated by the fact that some translations inaccurately and mistakenly translate the word as “rape.” The truth is, however, the Hebrew word in this case translated “seizes” (tapas) can mean many things. Here are some examples of the way it is translated in Deuteronomy 22:28 in several different English translations:
“lay hold on her” (ASV)
“taking her” (DRA)
“and takes her” (NLV/NAB)
“and hath caught her” (YLT)
By looking at other passages that use the word, we can see that the word tapas sometimes has nothing to do with force, and therefore nothing to do with rape. As Greg Bahnsen has written:
The Hebrew word tapas (“lay hold of her,” emphasized above) simply means to take hold of something, grasp it in hand, and (by application) to capture or seize something. It is the verb used for “handling” the harp and flute (Gen. 4:21), the sword (Ezek. 21:11; 30:21), the sickle (Jer. 50:16), the shield (Jer. 46:9), the oars (Ezek. 27:29), and the bow (Amos 2:15). It is likewise used for “taking” God’s name (Prov. 30:9) or “dealing” with the law of God (Jer. 2:8). Joseph’s garment was “grasped” (Gen. 39:12; cf. 1 Kings 11:30), even as Moses “took” the two tablets of the law (Deut. 9:17)… [T]he Hebrew verb “to handle, grasp, capture” does not in itself indicate anything about the use of force (italics in orig.).
In truth, we use English words in this way on a regular basis. For instance, a brief look at the English word “take” illustrates the point. You can take someone’s cookie, or take a person’s wife, or take a bride to be your wife. The idea of force is not inherent in the word at all. If you take a person in your arms, what have you done? Or if a young man takes a young woman to be his wife, is there force involved? No. Also, think about the English word “hold.” You can take hold of something in a number of ways. We often say that a woman will hold the child in her arms, or a bridegroom takes a bride to “have and to hold.” The Hebrew word tapas is acting in exactly the same way as the English words “hold” and “take” are.
In addition, it is clearly evident from the immediate context of Deuteronomy 22 that rape is not being discussed in verses 28-29. We know that for two primary reasons. First, verses 25-27 give a clear instance in which rape is being discussed. In that case, a man raped a woman, she “cried out” (v. 27), but she was in the country and no one was there to help her. The text says that the man who committed the crime “shall die” (v. 25), but the Israelites were supposed to “do nothing to the young woman” since “there is in the young woman no sin worthy of death” (v. 26). It is of great interest that in this clear case of rape, the text uses a completely different word. The word translated “forces her” in verse 25 is the Hebrew word chazaq and yet in verse 28, the verb has been intentionally changed to tapas (see Shamoun, 2015). Second, the natural reading of verses 28-29 makes it evident that both parties are guilty of at least some of the blame. Notice that at the end of verse 28 the text says, “and they are found out.” When the passage discusses the obvious case of rape, the text specifically only mentions the man in verse 25 when it says “then only the man who lay with her,” and conspicuously leaves out any indication of “they” being involved in the sin. Dr. Bahsen compares Deuteronomy 22:28-29 to Exodus 22:16, which reads, “If a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay the bride-price for her to be his wife” (1992). Notice that in this verse in Exodus, there is no force and both parties shoulder some of the guilt.

Well according to Mario Bellini and Paul Wallace Miranda council of nicea translated the ancient Hebrew to Greek for the King James Bible they were not good at ancient Hebrew so there is some mistranslation you have to go back to the way original ancient Hebrew version

I wasn't around back when all of this was taking place. None of us was there to witness any of this, so who is right. When I search inside my heart or attempt to, I feel a kinship to the Lord in a deep and meaningful way. I am no theological master nor do I have a vast plethora of biblical knowledge.
I understand some truths from both Mr. Carson, as well as you guys, yet I remain confused.

When I was in college, they taught these Sumerian Tablet, Emerald Tablet, and the Epic of Gilgamesh in History class. I remember thinking my History teacher really believes in these and he said these were written before the Bible and it has similar stories like the great flood. I ignored it back then thinking it's just some mythology stories. My question Is, is it true that these tablets were written before the Bible? Has anyone debunked this?
To me, anytime somebody places one book in front of me and tell me believe everything, very suspicious, you should read multiple books and make your own conclusion, your own conclusion, not what a church concludes.

Nope, it's referring to the Elohim, the "powerful ones." Chrsitian theology did not apply to Genesis when it was written, and took most of its important concepts from earlier Sumerian culture. Believe what you want, but this is the history.

To a certain extent, yes however if you listen to Carson enough he’s claimed on numerous accounts that God is actually Satan and Vice versa. That’s him softly saying the God of Israel is either many different gods leading the tribes for their own purpose or that the Israelites were being deceived that lead them into numerous victories as pillagers. They just put context into what Carson thinks he means and how what he believes comes from falsehoods of either his own making or the makings of deities that used him.
