Broh you are a great Ambassador for DR, all respect. You deserve a Diplomat license plate.
Lol...I think I agree with that. Where do I go to get my license plate😅
You made a great point, Jay! A body of water with sand can be considered a beach, but not all places with sand are beaches.
💯💯
As Dominican, those areas are called "Sea Coastline", --> "La orilla del Mar"
The probably think the river in The 42 is a beach 😂😂😂😂. Somebody's gonna turn into a Ninja Turtle swimming in one of those beaches 😂😂😂
🤣😅🤣😅
Jejeje. When i was a teen there are some americans gringo kids that 🌊 surfed in güibia. By pollution is not good idea swim.
hahaha jay how are you, don't try to deny regarding the beaches in Santo Domingo. I am 67 years old and in my childhood and part of my youth those beaches were open. a hug and thank you for defending my country
😅😅😅 I've been hearing those places were popular back in the day. I would have loved to see that.
Word to the wise, whenever there is a heavy rain downpour, all the trash in the city is carried down to those small beach areas. Even if they cleaned them up a heavy rainfall would wreck them time and time again.
You drive in Santo Domingo? You got balls of steel.
All the time. This was on a Sunday which is a lot less hectic.
yeah. I'm dominican and I don't drive in SD.
Ur a master driver if you survive driving for one day in Santo Domingo
😂😂😂😂
I rented and drove in Santo Domingo for 2 weeks, intense, but master driver level UNLOCKED!
When you showed that first example I was like oh he trolling lol
I knew all these spots were here but knew they weren't worth mentioning because no one comes to Santo Domingo for a beach. I made the video to prove my point😅
@@JayAbroad 😂
Jay you had me in 😂😂😂 when you said you were not going on a wild goose chase….🤣🤣🤣
😅😅
The beaches ⛱️ in the Santo Domingo are for locals for sure
What do yo mean, have you ever seen someone inside those beaches?
Well, maybe if you lived in the 1960s or something like that you did.
I think from the looks of things you were right the first time. No Beaches! Looks more like a water front which is still nice and has it's charm
I traveled to Boca De Yuma yesterday and that are is so clean and well kept. I really enjoyed that small town.
Just started watching this video 😅 can’t wait 🤣🤣🙏🏽👊🏽
Broh I love your content! Love from DR keep it up!
Appreciate it!👊🏾👊🏾
🤯🤨
Local’s definition and a beach lovers of a beach are two totally different things. 😂😂🌴✌🏾✊🏿💯
I'm starting to realize that😅
Confession is good for the soul Jay great video.
Yes! Thank you!😅
This is a cool video just to know that they are there. You learn something new everyday.
I think Santiago has a leg up over Santo Domingo, because at least in Santiago there are good rivers and in Santo Domingo all their rivers are so polluted that nobody in their right mind would go on a trip to take a shower in the Osama.
Great point👌🏾
You are absolutely right, there are no beaches in Santo Domingo, these are only a couple of polluted sand banks that maybe way back in the 30’s and 40’s were suitable for swimming
👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
I think it’s dope that you have Dominican followers. They gonna keep you honest too. 🤣🤣
Yep, and vice versa😅😅
So true, Santo Domingo has so many other things to offer, a lot Dominicans needs to understand that out there are a lot people that dont like and dont want to go to a beach. As in the past that was the only product that goverment sold in the fairs there are countries with not beaches that also receive millions of visitors, and we have all, so lets take advantage of that and let come urban tourist, beach tourist and mountain tourist.
Great points, thanks!
There has to be another name that can be attached to those places beside “beaches.” A little sand and a lot of water doesn’t make it a beach. Those would probably be in the category of sandbars.
I agree 👍🏾
You're right. Not every place that has water and sand is a beach
Couldn't have said it better👌🏾
Island Boy here...hellll noooo to the Santo Domingo "beaches"....there are so many great beaches/rivers/waterfalls in the rest of DR. #1LUV
Jay good job❤
Thanks!
I’m glad you made it clear why you kept these from us because had advertised these as beaches, you would’ve lost all credibility with me like ok I know you love SD, but come on man you reaching now, you know this ain’t it😂
Lol...I've always known those areas existed but never thought they were worth mentioning. But people wanted to prove me wrong. But I'm still right if you saw what I saw😅😅
@@JayAbroad I saw exactly what you saw 😅
You are 100% right . I live in a Caribbean island ( st.thomas )with some assume beaches . I go to D.R to enjoy there river and nice restaurants. Good cigar lounge.
That last beach is dangerous anyway. I’m glad you didn’t go.
Good judgment
That doesn't surprise me. Having to go through a neighborhood like that just to get to it didn't seem like a good idea.
I don’t change the beautiful rivers of Santiago and La Vega for any of those so call playa in the capital. People in Santo Domingo really think they got beaches.
😅😅😅. I love Santo Domingo but I got fall back on this one. They are delusional if these are considered beaches.
Up next, Santiago's playa. LOL
The best ones in the whole Caribbean for sure
🙌🏾🙌🏾😁
Didnt know that bruh til just now. Great content as usual ✌🏽
Appreciate it!
Playa no good either!!! the third beach!! i don't blame for not going there!
You are correct, those are just for the people that live there to enjoy and hang out. But spending my money and traveling there I would rather have something with plenty sand and trees 🌴 🌴🌴🌴!
Can you say this louder for the people in the back😅
Bro you’re spot on 😂
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
SDQ beaches are not even close to beaches out of town ! Not even locals go to those beaches ! But u r right !
Exactly. I don't know any local that has went to any of these beaches.
I think you should have these commenters prove their point instead of you burning gas and outwearing your tires. Those are beachfronts and spots to just hang out ,,, not what anyone would consider actual beaches. Good job nephew 👏
I should have, but i wanted troll a lil bit😅
Playa Guibia used to be the Santo Domingo surf 🏄♀️ spot in the 70's and 80's.
That's interesting .
@@JayAbroad Yes we used to have surfing tournaments at G beach and it wasn't contaminated like today's days.
@@JayAbroad Another thing there is a plan to build an artificial island right at G beach but nothing happens, I guess too much 💵
Dominicano here. Playa Güibia is very dirty and NOT safe to bathe in, same as Playa Montesinos. Playa Manresa a bit better but simply not nice. I'd rather stay in Santiago.
😅😅
Santiago’s beach keeps winning 😂
😅😅
Lmao!! Check out Guibia 🤣🤣
Looks like the "gringo" knows a thing or two about "vamos a la playa", cus I don't see anyone "vamos a estas playas", for good reason. My wife is Dominican, and she had a laugh at these so called "beaches". Good job Jay!
😅😅Preciate it bro.
i am in SD all the time and just because it has sand does not make it a beach. Punta Torrecillas is maybe the only thing close to a beach when it is cleaned up.
just drive to Boca/ juan d or the others. they are not that far or hit the river instead
Great advice💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
You were right, there aren't any beaches in santo domingo
Funny as hell and 💯
🤣🤣🤣
There are no GOOD beaches in Santo Domingo!
None at all😅😅
Who's going to get a beach chair and sit out there? Not me! 😂
@@iamafrederic9358 😅
Where are the Palm trees 🌴 😂😂
Not a one😅
My man Jay! Hahaha how ya let those damn haters make you burn gas and time like that! Haha. In theory the only beach that belongs to Santo Domingo and it’s a popular nice spot is Boca Chica. San Andres (next to Boca Chica) is also one but that’s more considered exclusive to the Marina and Restaurants in that area
They gassed me up....lol! But I've known about these areas but never thought it was worth mentioning.
Technically they are beach alright. They just need major development . Honestly I would not go there. 😄😄😄😄😄. For me your still right James. 👍👍👍
is Güibia, Aquamam died there. RIP.
The best beaches in the area are in Boca chica at the 3 restaurants beautiful water white sands but they are private beaches belonging to those restaurants
You are referring to Boca Marina and Neptunos
Private beaches are illegal in the country. They should leave an access open to anyone. Even Punta Cana beaches have open access. Anyway, if you walk down from another beach, they can’t take you out 🤷🏻♀️
Those are rough and dirty beaches for the most part due to the proximity to the Ozama river.
Horrible beaches. The reason why I said there were no beaches here. A freshly cooked pizza with a pile ish on top no one would call it food. Same thing with these beaches😅😅
@@JayAbroad lol
I would call those sandbox at best. If that is a beach then next time i go down there i will get a bag or two of sand throw it near a rock and name it after myself.
😅😅😅 I laughed out loud on this one.
the water at malecon area is so deep anyway for a beach i get it why there no beach in santo domingo
That's what I always thought the reason was too.
Ok..i've seen that little spot next to D'Luis..
You didn't go get your toes wet in the water😅
@@JayAbroad maybe next time 😅
Dude, you are a trip...😂😂😂😂 "that need to be right" is a disease !!!
U messed up again Bro. U were suppose to say OKAAAAY, and hold the Ā 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂 to your response to my Dominicans in the comments. All 🇩🇴 ❤
Lol...I should have😅
Yes but Santiago has better beaches than Santo Domingo, specially that one located next to the licey's stadium 😂
Sunday drive is always the best in Santo Domingo, those beaches are wack there's no place to buy my fried fish with tostones on those beaches.... I'll take boca chica over these beaches anyday of the week..
Sadly to say, I would too...lol! And that's saying a lot me preferring Boca Chica over those😅
I'll be in Santo Domingo este end of this month, be nice if we can link up i need some good sticks
You can send me an email when you get here to see what my availability is during that time. My email is iamjayabroad@gmail.com
That first beach don't look too clean.
Because Jay is right those beaches are not worth going.
It’s a shame those beaches look decrepit… but someone would have to take upon themselves to clean up. 😮
😅yep they are in bad shape.
First Beach I s not a good look got to jump over a wall to get to it.
Those are not beaches. Those are boardwalks waterfronts. Not sanitary or maintained
Very true.
The second beach there isn't evening anyone there!! not a good look neither!!!
😅
Guibia is not really a beach, and I'm Dominican from Santo Domingo.
Guibia ya no se recupera. The waste from the hotels in the Malecón Center are keeping that beach dead. En tiempo de Trujillo Guiba beach was something special. I've seen old newspaper clips from the 1940s, it was beautiful.
Neither are beaches to what one would call a beach. However, Playa Manresa is closer to a beach than the other two.
@JoseMartinez-bh1ng Yeah, even in the early 80s, I swam in Guibia as a tiguerito. But it's not for now tourists. 🤣
@@JayAbroad True.
you did!!
Boca Chica is part of Santo Domingo, thats why we say we have beaches in SD 🤷🏽♂️. I guess your point would be there are none in Distrito Nacional or “the center” of SD. Good Video thou brother!
Boca Chica isn't a part of Santo Domingo. Boca Chica is it's own city. Boca Chica is in the Santo Domingo province but is not a part of the city of Santo Domingo. And that's not why they said there were beaches here they said it and mentioned these 3 beaches in particular. We not going move goal post now that I showed these beaches yall got own it 😅😅
He said Santo domingo city, not Santo Domingo province lol
They stole boca chica from San Pedro. Boca chica used to be part of San Pedro.
@@JayAbroad thats what i meant Boca Chica Is in Santo Domingo Province so even though its its own city is considered part of SD. Just like Juan Dolio its considered part of San Pedro de Macorís. In the other hand Santiago has no municipalities, cities or anything else with beaches and so thats why the long term fight lol 🤷🏽♂️…
Question for you bro, where do you see Boca Chica in the next 5-10years? Moving forwards-Backwards-or staying as it is in terms of leveling up to a more “touristic” or high end Beach?…do you think it has the potential?
GÜIBIA!
Gracias 🙏🏾
Potential beaches
I can rock with that "potential"..lol!
I just know you had to hit a different gear to make this video😂
Lol...yep. Because I wasn't going to make it. I already knew about these places except Manresa and I knew they were not worth mentioning.
Those were some nasty spots. I'll take Punta cana or North coast😊
😅😅
Beaches in SD?…gringo for the win.
🏆 ✌🏾 😅
Those so called beaches are not worth visiting I can keep my money and stay in the states but atleast you tried
😅😅😅
Point proven bro!🤣😂🤣
😅😅
I guess those beaches are just visited by the people that say they got beaches in SD. 😂
😅😅😅
You want nice beaches go to Puerto Plata - like Long Beach on the Malecón
😂 I knew you was gonna get corrected man. Jay playa Guibia 40 years ago was never popular I can imagine today. Ok gringo nice try trying to pronounce Guibia. 😂🤣
You know it goes without fail somebody wants to be right😅. I know i butchered the name Guibia bad😅
@@JayAbroad Hey man, no worries you're alright in our book plus it's a terrible name anyways. Don't you dare even putting in your toes in there.
GOO E BEE A
Now that's easy . Thanks for sounding that out for me.
Hahaha
Nah that aint no damn beach😂😂😂
My point exactly!😅
guibia is not really a beach 40 years ago was ok. good for surfing
I agree but the people told me it was...so I exposed it..lol!
Beaches are trash 😂
😅😅
