Lived there as a kid, so much has changed. There no no metal shutters on shops, no KFC and less "to let" signs. Our towns and cities change, that's inevitable but a lot of the change is for the worse and we let it happen. Thanks for the video, watched it at 1/4 speed.....DA.

Thanks for that. I enjoyed your trip though felt uneasy passing through junctions as I couldn't check that there was no traffic coming in from your right hand side. This must have been a Bank Holiday as your description says it was a Monday but there are no cars parked on the left hand side of Derby Road outside the Moore's Dental Practice. Good work. Well done.
I always thought Long Eaton being in Nottinghamshire! Oh well I guess I learn something new every day :) Havent been to Long Eaton for around 5 years. Excellent video by the way!
Long Eaton is definitely Derbyshire, despite having NG postcodes !

@@comedyhunter Nah but no one follows that rule based on the county but rather they would base town like long Eaton being closer to Nottingham and more connected to Nottingham as a whole I live in long Eaton most people feel we are closer to Nottingham than darby and also long Eaton is surrounded by Nottingham towns like Toton and Stapleford right next to each other hand there is no darby town near Long Eaton and also we use NG postcode it makes more sense to be part of n

Yes people often think that, Wikipedia says....
It is a common misconception that Long Eaton is part of Nottinghamshire. The reason for the NG prefix in the postal code is that all mail for Long Eaton first goes to the Royal Mail's Nottingham sorting office in Beeston.
Long Eaton borders Nottinghamshire but is actually situated in the County of Derbyshire. Most residences however have a Nottingham address with the Nottingham postcode prefix NG, and use the Nottingham telephone area code 0115.

Interesting video I spent a lot of my youth in Long Eaton, don't think I could live there again though. I have always been abit of a grass is greener kind of person. Better to go somewhere new to shake things up abit. Many memories nevertheless

I live in Sawley(about 3 mins from where the video started! been in and around Long Eaton 12 years now lol))!...i watched it and it was very good lol....i was looking out for my 4x4 lol
I have finally seen a bit of that city whose accent is taught whenever someone decides to be at the English `Training Coarse.
Damn. So much has changed since then. The Royal Oak pub no longer exists, neither does that petrol station that was next to it, there's now a Sainsbury's, the Victoria inn is no longer an inn, the cinema is shut down and is all boarded up. Quite sad now I think about it 😂😂
I filmed this in 2009 which dont sound that long ago does it, buts its 13 years ago ! A lot can change in that time especially post Covid

Derbyshire can also be used in the postal address in place of the Posttown Nottingham, if the Postcode is used. Some good videos, backed by a good choice of music.
Yes its odd when you see someone else drive a route as they don't turn when you expect them to. Do you understand those back to front speed cameras?
