Thanks !! my character's mouth is a 3, but I do it with a straight line and it never quite fit me. Thank you for your time ♥ you have helped me a lot ♥
Thank you so much for these descriptive tutorials! Your tutorials are very pretty but you focus on the actual point of the video and giving instructions. There are a lot of tutorials out there that are really difficult for beginners like me to understand. PS: Your models are beautiful!
I'd give it a go in VtubeStudio (also free on steam) just to check if it's prprlive that's causing the mouth issue! If it doesn't work that either it might be either your webcam tracking being weird or possibly to do with the parameters not being recognised properly and needing a little tweaking in program
Mouth works, but not when the head moves. I've spent so much time getting them both how I like them, at least within my abilities, and this is so frustrating I feel like I'm about to just cry. Am I going to have to change the mouth for each mouth form parameter for the head turning? I guess that won't take TOO long, but that's so tedious. Edit: Tinkered a bit. Seems I will have to change the mouth forms to match the head directions. This will be tedious, but hey, at the end of the day, as long as it works, that's what matters to me. Thanks for the video, you've been practically my main source of learning this program!
I know you mentioned finding a fix but thought I'd just give some thoughts here! Set up the mouth forms on the artmesh level (like in the video) then for the face angles it's best to create a warp deformer including all the mouth parts to setup on your x/y parameter! You can also deform the mouth shapes that way to suit the turns better
I'll make a little picture with the keyframes for you, I'll let you know when it's done and I'll attach a link on the description! The bottom lip should be straight rather than a 3 shape too so it bends cleanly
Thanks for the tutorial, it was really to understand! I have an issue with my model because I tried following these exact steps and they don't look as smooth as yours, it looks choppy and doesn't track all of them, any idea on how to fix it? :(
It might also be your webcam/parameter settings in your tracker of choice, does it look choppy when you drag around your parameter in live2d? (Apologies for the super late response, youtube notifications have been buggy for me lately!)
I have a question, if I finish configuring everything as it is here; once i make the x and y axes move the mouth in its normal way will the other parameters move as well? or do I have to accommodate them?
yes they should do! the mouth setup is done on the artmesh - x/y is done on deformers higher in the hierarchy, which will move the mouth setup cleanly! However, I will usually double check mouth forms at different angles for tweaking but that's for the XY not the mouth forms specifically Wishing you the best with your Live2D!
@@CutieDragon Thanks a lot! and I have one more question ^^ what is the order to configure the model? that is, first all the X axes of the entire model and then the Y; Or should I start with the rest, for example the mouth or eyes (that is, what has more movement
@@ZarchiArts it's completely down to preference actually! Personally I'll start with the facial features - eyes/mouth/etc. then the head angles then body! But whichever order feels more comfortable to work in is absolutely fine!
Do you know anyway to rig a really simple mouth? I’m talking like literally a line, no inside mouth part at all, I’m trying to rig it and it’s just not working at all
hmm it'd be a bit tricky to actually open the mouth with only one line, you'd be able to do smiling/frowning for sure if you don't have an inside mouth part are you just working with a top lip line and lower lip line?
@@CutieDragon I’m pretty new to this so I’ve been working with just drawings of the closed and open, also for reference I’m trying to make a cookie run style character. But now that you’ve mentioned it I should try separating it into different mouth pieces since that is possible, thanks for the idea
@@wes8625 aa I gotcha, yeah you'll want a top lip and bottom lip line and basically do the same thing in the video (just without the inner mouth parts!). If you use a closed + open mouth you'll end up with some strange results where the mouths intersect with each other
as far as I know there isn't a way yet unfortunately ;w; you might be able to copy and paste the parts but if they don't match the other model it'll look out of place!
You can also squash in the inner mouth part (with the tongue/teeth, etc. Clipped onto it) in when the mouth is closed and stretch it open once the mouth is open!
I cant figure out why my mouth isn't opening to its different shapes I formed when I put it in to Vtube Studio. :c Is there any way you can help me. Your video was very helpful and I've been working on my character for the past few weeks, and I just wanna be done with it already! Lol, but everything was done correctly on the parameters and shaped accordingly so if you could help me figure out why the mouth shapes aren't working Id appreciate it
So it's all good in live2d, then it might be tweaking your mouth tracking in VTS! So, you'll want to play around with the mouth open sensitivity on your camera settings until you get the desired result, ALSO, make sure (if using webcam tracking) that the OUT on your mouth open parameter (in VtubeStudio) is set to 1 on the upper value! (I believe it defaults to something like 2.1)
Bruh this is so simple, yet you actually describe every single detail you need to do. This video saved my life lol.
Yes! I try to go through every step so there's little room for confusion! Sometimes even I forget something as simple as where a menu is 😅
I just spend 8hr rigging my first mouth all thanks to your video! cheers
im a complete beginner in live2d and all the other tutorials were so complicated! thanks sm for this

so glad to be helpful to you! wishing you the best with your Live2D model ^u^
Finally, I found an easy and brief explanation. Thank you very much.
Oh my.

This was so helplfull, thank you! Only problem I face is that everything I've rigged work in prpr, except for the mouth. Dunno where it went wrong 😭

Are you able to show how you set up the individual mouth pieces for the :3 mouth? I am having trouble working the bottom lip out especially...

how to import a finished mouth model in to a other modelஇ௰இ
