So nice Saxophone is very beautiful, and my saxophone it is selmer Mark 6 from 1956, it is very similar to the one you have, it has a big bell, the same color and a very special sound, and it also comes from a musician who was in big jazz bands, a player, and you can hear this in the sound of the Saxophone 🎷 and incredibly easy to play all the best 🙏🎶🎵🎷from Greece
Hello, I'm Silverio from Argentina. I was surprised by your message, since I had a Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone from 1963, approximately 104,000 series. Some say that they were the best of the model that began to be manufactured in 1954 until 1974. It just so happens that, along with this magnificent saxophone, I also had the same Selmer Enhanced Tone clarinet. Today I no longer have them and I miss them so much for having given them away and having been quite foolish when I was young!! Congratulations!?
Thanks! I know the feeling. I have a few instruments that I wish I could get back! Mine is 108.000. It only plays a few notes, but it has all the potential. I hope someday you can get another Selmer. Thanks for watching!
@@Scottsmusiccave You definitely should do that! Yesterday I bought purple logo alto in great condition from original owner with history, his is army player and did a lot of touring and teaching at North bay, Canada. So I can relate to this kind of videos!
That’s a beauty! Mine is also from 1963 and was immaculate when I got it 26 years ago…even had the original pads! What’s the serial number on that one?
Mark Vl is stamped on the bell, not engraved. I have a 112xxx. I also have a later 6 you can get the ball joints quieter by putting grease, not oil, in them.
I have a few tricks to get them quieter. Including replacing the ball joints with the traditional forked type mechanism. I think that should be a video. Thanks for watching!
As some one who has played many saxophones and many MK VIs, do you believe that a VI has a sound that is discernable and separates it from other professional level saxophones. Thanks for the video - a great watch.
Nice purchase Scott, I love my ‘67 tenor and my ‘68 alto . Thanks 🎷
Thanks Bob! You have some nice horns!

Awesome sax man I hope it serves you well.
Thanks, Ben!

I love the Purple Label Yamahas! I’ve been looking for a nice 62. I actually have a nice 52.
@@Scottsmusiccave If I find another one I’ll give you a shout. I got my for reasonable price and it needs only new cork and some small adjustments .
That's great! Thanks!
I have a 56 that's very similar ( but no dents ) I'd be interested to see this one again once you've O/H it. nice horn
Nice! I’m really excited to get this one done. Hopefully I can keep customer work under control.

Very cool. It’s in the 108,000 range. I love seeing them with original pads.

This one is engraved btw.

They have their own sound for sure. I won’t say they are best because there are so many saxophone with a great sound. The Mark 6 is special though.
What mouthpiece came with the horn ?
Good question. It came with a Berg Larsen 100/1 “duck bill”. Thanks for watching!
The Headline looks like Mark VII, not Mark VI
Yes it does. Thanks. I’ll fix it.
