I remember they were supposed to make a 'scav life' dlc (or addition) of the sorts that expands on scav gameplay. I think what the early concept was that you can level up as a scav to get better gear over time and have a scav stash instead of overall regular stash. So basically was planning on turning scav into another version of PMC but instead of tasks and hide outs, its just basic level up for better spawn gear (or take out gear through stash) and just basic looter shooter with most AI (unless bad rep) on your side.
I'm not sure how much they would of implemented or changed but I think the thought process was having a 'tarkov lite' mode to help ease newer players/gear fear players into the game more. BSG undoubtedly knows how intense they made the game, and as such, niche. Likely looking to backtrack their level of complexity and hardcoreness without actually taking out elements that make it video game 'realistic'.

Scav karma absolutely saved Scav gaming, before it was just glorifying PVP with scav gear, now its actual scavenging (WOW) and teaming with other scavs to kill PMCs
Doesn’t punish traitor scavs enough IMO. It should also immediately reset scav timer if you get killed by one.
scavs should be every man for themselves if they want to be. you shouldnt automatically be lumped in with every other scav if you don't want to be. i miss the scav on scav pvp. now it's like the scavs just over run the map together and with random boxes now there's not nearly enough loot for everyone

I wish they would add med combining. Say there is a salewa with 100/400 and salewa with 200/400. Should allow to use the med bay to combine them into 300/400.

Scav Karma saved scaving, people actually care about it and try not to kill other scavs. You still have your bad apples but prior to scav karma, scaving was a complete nightmare if you were using scavs to make money rather than free pvp.

I made the majority of my money playing scavs before the changes _and_ had fun pvping with them. Sounds like a skill issue.

@@anon4854 Every time you'd go factory and some douche player scav would try to get you so you'd have to kill him and now literally every thing with a gun on the map wants to kill you; it was basically playing as a PMC without being able to bring anything into the raid.

Scav Karma makes scence in the overall Tarkov Story and i realy like the fact that you get punished for killing a " neighbour " so yeah Scav Karma kinda good
yeah it makes sense but needs a good bit of work to be even kinda good, you have to many unaccounted logical problems with it so best i would say working at least most of the time

No, it doesnt. How are scavs communicating and why would they all care what Fence thinks? Scavs would betray each other over half a cigarette. That's always been the lore of scavs in Tarkov. They have no code. They're just out to survive. The only reason they survived this far is because they have no morals and kill first.

I love the scav Karma.
scav karma was meant to make scaving more enjoyable and less brutal for weak players who cannot accept things too hardcore..
but its this brutality that makes scaving more Tarkov-like similar to real world scenarios.
And thats why My scav 2 wipes ago had about 7-8 skills in elite levels and comparable to a lot of PMC players but without the need to do any tasks to level,,, just bring items for Fence if the task feels resonable enough while my PMC just chill in the hideout with tons of loot and mils to spare.

i love the scav karma system, but can see how someone like landymandy doesn't really like it since he's pretty much 99,9% straight PMCing the game
scav karma is good, everyone complaining that its a crutch for bad players or anything else doesnt understand that scavving wasn't meant to be a mindless pvp match with a free gearset, its meant to SCAVENGE. With that being said i think that being able to form alliances and choose your level of how much you want to scav or gain karma is part of the sandbox nature of the game, you can still mindlessly shoot, but not without consequences

Fun is subjective, I personally took my time on every wipe solo, but now that I got a group, this wipe I not only progressed faster already as we prioritized tasks and money early so Im able to better keep up with the guys who play tarkov religiously
im level 16 and it is a blast running full kits killing pistol timmys and scavs

i just use Scav as an easy way to go in for money. You have way less engagement chance on scav. Except right now can't load into streets on scav and timer for getting into raid is 10 minutes plus. I think the Karma is a interesting idea but there should be more reward and less punishment to give people a reason to be friendly to scavs.
scav karma ruined the idea that , that scav run is an all or nothing anything goes kind of run . With scav karma almost begs the question of why theres even a timer since they expect you to now not compete with other scavs but also take the minimalistic amount of loot depending on how early or late you got into a raid
its not for you its for new players who can barely kill scavs, and cant extract with anything. do you want the game to have a playerbase or not?

The only reason scav karma is good is making bosses friendly, but you're a scav, so they should be friendly anyway, but then you could just farm their gear easily with no downside, can't win either way :(

I think there should be even more scav karma than there is. Personally, I've had more scav on scav violence this wipe than others. I was searching a random drop on Interchange as a scav when another scav came up, laid down with me, mumbled something inaudible and then shot me. I can only assume that he didn't care about karma whatsoever..

He’s been doing this since the game came out so it’s no huge surprise. Plus streaming for hours upon hours per day. He’s min maxed it

Scav karma is pointless. You dont get punished until you shoot someone. Scavs rarely have helmets. The timer debuff doesnt matter since you can just run a PMC. Anyone that abide by scav rules gets killed by KOS scavs and you dont gain karma for dying in that raid.
Scav karma doesn't matter anyways. It didn't affect how I play scav since karma does next to nothing.

Solo only perspective: scav karma ruined scav gameplay. You have to hesitate to fire to confirm it's a pmc, which means you will usually lose the fight. Unless you can third party/witness them killing a scav.

Scav Karma made the game boring for me, since I Scav more than I PMC at a ratio of 4:1. When Scav Karma came, it made the scaving so boring to the point where I actually quit the game, because of it.

@@IplayRustSolo Yeah, it was that too, honestly. I liked Scaving more cuz everyone was ahead of me in terms of gear and I didn't have all the time in the world to play. So I would go on a few scav raids to scrounge enough money for a good kit and go pmc. But, once scav karma came, the thing I did most in Tarkov became boring. Also, there were other problems with the game (Bugs, Performance, Hackers and Ping issues because I didn't have servers near me.)

It breaks immersion that you can keep playing after you die. You should get one life to play Tarkov and that's it. No restart, no buying a new copy of the game because that would break immersion.
