I might have put in more hours playing pinball than almost anyone else alive. Somewhere in the 200,000 hours. I also used to go on benders at the 24/7 bowling alleys that served beer. Sometimes played continuously for upwards of 4 days straight.

Yeah i can attest that getting into any type of cabinets like this, be it arcade or pinballs, virtual or physical pins = a midlife crisis action lol. I'm living proof of this.
I have had people talk trash about the gameroom i built over the past 2 years, saying i'm too old for that etc... etc... little do they know the main target audience for this stuff are guys in their upper 30's to 50's lol. Heck i even see guys in their 60's enjoying this hobby of ours.

Pinball machines, or just "flippers", as we call them down here in Argentina, were prohibited a lot of times, especially during military dictatorships (most of the times) so I had to travel to dark sides of town to play, which of course I gladly did...now they are hard to find, a 70's "flipper" costs around 2 to 3 k in excellent condition...hope I can go to Las Vegas' pinball museum someday !

1:05 as he states, the online and internet platforms, there are many platforms to choose from and, IMO, the most popular ones are: The Pinball Arcade, Pinball FX3, and Zaccaria Pinball.

Such a shame that Pinball Arcade had their licenses gutted... i went to play their Elvira table since i never had the chance to play it before and they lost so much stuff. Zen needs to stop making exclusivity deals that screw over other platforms like the At Legends Pinball and Pinball Arcade software. Definitely not cool.
Between that and their stupid ticket system/expecting people to repurchase tables they are fast becoming the bad guys of the Vpin community.

Todd Tuckey (5:50) "You couldn't win a free game (on pinball) until the 90s". Absolutely not true.

Agree. I remember playing a pinball game at a newstand in the 1970s where you had a number that you would wait to see if it matched. If the final two digits of your score was the same as the random number that was generated, you got another game.

      truth accepted!
but Todd is still a legend imo... I wouldn't have got back into real pinball if not for his channel and the Pinball Arcade. so yey...;)

This was true in many areas because it was illegal (skill vs chance, gambling, etc). The mechanisms/electronics were there but in many jurisdictions it was simply illegal to turn them on.

True... I played them in the 80s all the time. I remember that loud knocking sound when you won free games
