I'm highly confident its the hopper that needs redstone signal. but when the hopper isn't locked, it pulls the mold too. I think u only need to filter out the mold by using BC emerald pipe or the bloodmagic node thingy

Hey Dire, I'm pretty sure your thaumcraft growth accelerator works on the crystals. I think the reason you're not seeing particle effects might have something to do with the graphics of the crystals themselves. Maybe since the crystals seem to be counted as a whole block they're somehow obscuring/conflicting with the green particle effects until you break them. I think the accelerator itself works(if I'm correct) by speeding up growth ticks in the set area, while the particle effects are separate entirely from the practical effect of the device. The accelerator seems to have been designed with just speeding up the growth of everything. And as long as the crystals go through growth stages the same way plants do then it should work the same. It's just the pretty green particles seem to have been designed with just plant sprites/art in mind, not the crystals for intangible.
Direwolf20... I think you can have the Redstone signal going to the Cauldron via a Repeater... direct signal and nothing broadcast to the block below that way
To automate the crystal gem making, just place a redstone block on the side, which'll provide the signal to stop the mold from going to the hopper without deactivating the hopper itself (you'll still need the redstone clock to be active on the bellows). You can also use a comparator to activate the dropper, 'cause the blow mold outputs a redstone signal when it has a ready item in its inventory, so it'll give you the signal just before the hopper takes out the gems. I tested it, and it should work. Hope this helps ^ w ^

Silly Dire, see if the blow mold works with a comparator. If it does, you can have it run a redstone engine to extract the gems and dump them. Even if it pulls the mold, BC pipes can sort it back into the block itself.

If you want to use the hopper just use a half slab with redstone on top of it. Because the half slab is not a solid block it won't become strongly powered and therefore it will not stop the hopper from pulling. So the setup looks like this: B R L H S B= Bellows R= redstone L= lever H= Hopper S= Halfslab
Dire if you want to maximize your travel speed I think the Slime boots and Sling from Tinker's would be ideal... if boni hasn't told you what they do... the boots give you bounce and negate fall damage, the sling will fire you in the opposite direction of where you are facing, so you have to kinda aim at an angle to REALLY get distance and height. Has anyone else tried this yet it's freaking awesome!

moving souls to other creatures would be a nifty thing Dire... think replacing a creeper's AI with a Zombies. they would track and swarm, but unable to actually do melee damage, they would not attack (assuming the AI can be messed with in such a way to be independent of the attack method...). they would swarm villagers, doors, and players, without attacking. Or having zombies just sneak up on players and creep over their shoulder doing nothing / be afraid of cats?

There are so many modders that can be on, many aren't on very often. To name just a few (not adding channels/streams): Searge, LexManos, Azanor, JadedCat, Pahimar, WayofTime, CFW, Boni, Tema, Minalien... The list goes on, but unfortunately my brain didn't. It just went completely blank -__-

you could have placed lever on top of wooden planks for the relay
it can be annoying to trigger if there's an entity there. furthermore redstone does no spread to adjacent blocks like that

Try putting another hopper under the first to extract the gems, just a thought I haven't tested this at all.

Get rid of the chest and fill the hopper only with items you want to come out of the mold. It can't pull the mold out if it doesn't have room for it.

Dire, you can build a sorting machine, so only the gems are pulled out. Vanilla sorting machines are pretty easy

@direwolf20 with the blow mold I tried in a test world and this worked just use a redstone block.

emerald pipe dire, just filter the outputs from the flowmold and you'll only get what you want out of it, that's assuming it's I sided.
