On the original lyrics of the track on the chorus says the word "caterpillar" SBS has censored this word because they Think F(x) is making marketing of Caterpillar Brand
You can very easily tell when f(x) is live and when it isn't 1) Luna is super loud 2) Luna is doing extra things ith her voice 3) You can't really hear Victoria at all
Exactly Luna hard carries the group and krystal is always not consistent....plus luna does all the background vocals in the album so when the other members perform it sounds diff whereas luna always sounds the same
They are using a different track live on mubank because one of the broadcasting stations deemed red light unfit for broadcast because the lyrics had "Caterpillar" in it and it's supposedly a company.
Pre-recoded vocals are VERY obvious lmao. You guys understand these music shows are just promotion stages right ? They perform so many times a week it doesnt even matter. Doesnt mean everything is pre-recorded. And Pre-recorded is still their live vocals ( but not in real time as the video).
+JaeHyun Oh, it's actually "pre-recorded" as in "retouched and mastered in studio", hence both music shows from different stations have the same track. They'd be different tracks if they were pre-recorded on-stage with live vocals, and this is not the case.
+dallak93 and ? it doesnt mean they sing bad live or cant achieve the same through real live sessions. The studio wont make you magically sing as good as them unless you sound completely different. lol If y'all want to hear real live or cant tell between pre-recorded and real live then watch live radio performances or something. Some people here acting like this disproves their talent and capability . It doesnt. "If we paid to watch those performances, it could be considered as some kind of scam lol." Lmao. They're not opera singers whose sole and only purpose to be on stage is to stand and sing. They are performers. They dance and sing. It could totally just be a dance performance if they want to.
I love them too. They're my 2nd favorite K-pop group overall, and I know they can pull-off live singing nicely. This practice doesn't not limit to f(x), tho. A lot of groups, even outside SM, have been doing this since last year.
Isn't this a comeback stage? comeback stages are never live from SM unless its on mbc lol I'm kinda glad SM lets their idols lipsync, the only time they shouldn't lipsync is at concerts when people pay MONEY to watch them.
dallak93 well nooooo they dont do, not some of the sm groups live or on concerts. Like exo, they did all the songs lipsync except three and then shinee all the songs live and then three songs lipsyncs (on their solo concert)
They sound the same because the first week of music show appearances SM has all of their artist lipsyncing to deliver the best performance first, then after the first week they remove the live recorded audio and have them use their raw vocals
+Kirsten Arnold i don't think it is SM. Music Bank & Inkigayo performances generally aren't live. i think it is these music programs choice. and most of Music Core performances are live or half live i think. and why say all artists? I don't think Ryeowook, Yesung, Kyuhyun lip sync their performances either.
+SMTownMusic It'd make little sense for them to perform if there's lip-syncing since K.R.Y's performances are vocals-based. So I'm glad Tiffany redeemed herself after yesterday's little scene. When there's a dance tho, it's plausible singers opt for lip-syncing. Most live stages on music shows are live btw. It's just certain idol groups (namely SM's) that lip-sync on certain shows.
No no there is a difference. Slight difference but still a difference. In a lot of parts, music bank vocals sound stronger than the other. they have to use back tracks to "boost" their vocals and sometimes it drowns it out, but a lot of the time, especially with music bank (since music bank doesn't allow lip sync anymore) they do sing live.
+Mikayla Pandas Difference in volume levels is due to differences in the shows' audio mixing (this includes music/vocal tracks and the audience's cheers) and other broadcasting peculiarities between both stations. Yes, idols do sing live with a back track on certain parts, but that would result in vocals being "doubled" which does not happen here.
And thanks for whoever made this video. I really hate it when stans insist that their fav are singing live (and use Mr. Removed to prove that) when they're in fact lip-syncing
Sevta22 why dont you try to sing and dance will you be able to sing? will you have a clear voice or you will have shaky voice? its hard to sing and dance in the same time because when you sing the diaphragm has the biggest role which means that it should be stable and unshaken to get the perfect voice out of it. I think if you went to school they would have already teach you about diaphragm and its role.
Sevta22 you are the idiot they do sing live Mr just tweak it to make it sound perfect and Mr remove removes the tweak adults these days always think they know everything while kids have the new knowledge so it's updated
Tkty H hey its okay just let that person be its just to painful for her/him to see that whenever s/he sings the birds fall from the sky all dead so that why s/he came here to say whatever it got on her/his mind
you think if SM went through the trouble of creating "live MR" tracks that they'd at least make a few different ones to cover their tracks... i guess they don't care lmao
I just want to say that almost every SM groups do not really sing live at the first week. f(x)’s RL stages on 140703@MCD, 140704@MB, 140705@MC, 140706@SBS, 140709@SC), but Music Core require all the artists must sing live. And f(x) girls’ voices are much clearer at later stages. Especially stages on 140712@MC, 140713@SBS, 140717@MCD, 140718@MB, 140719@MC, 140720@SBS. So I suggest and hope you to make another comparison again ^^
BEST VIEWED WITH HEAD/EARPHONES Also, please read the description to know the purpose of the video. Compare with: v=Drb9RnO5qZI - this is the same track heard in the broadcast (minus audience cheers) Thanks!
one thing thats important is THEY SANG the song and not some other ppl..its hard to dance and sing at the same time especially when red light has a few jumping moves and ofc sm wants a perfect comeback but all that matters are this audio we're listening to is not a fake audio.its the voices of f(x) 💕💕💕
SM has been doing this for a while now, they can obviously sing but I guess they want perfect comeback week so usually the first week they use a pre-recorded vocals. But now it seems they do it more and not only the first week. u.u
I'm not saying it throws out the comparison. I'm saying that if the lyric is changed in the one it has to be a separate voice track. They're probably just consistent performers.
Or... they have two different pre-recorded tracks, one for Inkigayo and the other one for Music Bank. But yeah, I give it to you they're pretty consistent, and they've shown that since they debuted with LA chA TA. However, when singing live, there are always subtle differences in their vocals between performances. Again, this is not the case.
+De-Rong Lin You speak my language. It used to be only on their comeback week, but now they do it more often. Oh, 140711@MB and 140713@SBS(this one is easier to spot. SBS's headsets don't have that good quality when singing live) are lip-synced, too.
I dont understand your point. Obviously the voice goint to be the same, she are trained for singing same in all Performances. The Sound cant be the same because in Inkigayo she said: Catepillar, and in Music Banck : Muhangwedo.
No matter how trained they are, no artist can perform THIS similar on two different stages. In their real live performances (140712, for example) it's possible to notice shakiness in their voices from singing while dancing, and other pecularities. This is not the case, though.
dallak93 I'm talking specifically about idol groups, and while yes, you may find an idol group that sings life, almost 99% of them mostly don't. Let's not pretend that great vocals are the main attraction for kpop idol groups, cause that'd be a massive lie.
Tkty H Their company choose, and I bet they do too. Who'd want to tire their vocals when there's an opportunity not to? Most groups lip-sync because they want to put on a good show, going full on with a dance routine. Most of them cannot do that when singing live.
Sevta22 don't forget with the Mr it makes it good e.g SNSD mrmr Yuri was saying rock but her voice broke but we didn't hear it in live but heard it in Mr removed so with Mr you could sing badly and it would still come out good
+A. Vanessa all what she meant was she loved the group but she knows they dont do live performances. unlike the fans who think their bias group are perfect.
Yah ! noticed something weird...... their perf on MuBank is more better ♥ theyre vocals are more louder and some parts on the end or bridge have sustained...... And Luna,Krystal,Amber,Victoria, and Sulli's voice goed a little bit higher ♥ More better than the original record......
dallak93 yeah, the one from yoo hee yeol sketchbook (coz from wht i know every artist always sing live there) and the other one is up to you but from music show such mubank, music core, mnet etc (coz sometimes i'm not sure the artist is singing live or not), thank you so much!
I've checked all of their Boom Boom performances and none of them match - they all have different vocal tracks. However, it's normal that groups record two performances on the same day: one with live vocals, and one lip-synced while dancing more energetically. I honestly don't know how consistent Svt is when singing live real-time, so it's hard for me to affirm whether they're lip-syncing a performance or not. Their YHY Sketchbook performance is most likely live, though fine-tuned as every other artist who performs in that show. I'm sorry if I'm not of much help, btw.
Err no they don't if they always lip sync how do you expect mistakes e.g Luna stumbled on her line in a Nu ABO live so how is that lipsync SNSD Jessica missed half her lines before because she forgot to lift her mic up how are they pretending to sing if stuff like that happen but one group always lip sync exo
They are using a different track live on mubank because one of the broadcasting stations deemed red light unfit for broadcast because the lyrics had "Caterpillar" in it and it's supposedly a company.
On the original lyrics of the track on the chorus says the word "caterpillar" SBS has censored this word because they Think F(x) is making marketing of Caterpillar Brand
WTF.
+Manon Jann As weird as it may sound, it is true. That's KBS reasoning for ya
You can very easily tell when f(x) is live and when it isn't

I couldn't really notice the MR thingie because their dancing SO well and synchronized. O_O

agree!!!
The problem is they do lip-sync in concerts
dallak93 Yeah sometimes they do, never in the u.s though.
hahahahaha its funny couse they do lip-sync in concerts, well I saw that in SS6 & Music Bank in México
dallak93 well nooooo they dont do, not some of the sm groups live or on concerts. Like exo, they did all the songs lipsync except three and then shinee all the songs live and then three songs lipsyncs (on their solo concert)
and people still trust mr removed
i'm a huge f(x) stan but even i won't deny that most sm artists (and kpop idols in general) use live mr
I do notice some difference though at the break down. Krystal's high note sounded different.
They sound the same because the first week of music show appearances SM has all of their artist lipsyncing to deliver the best performance first, then after the first week they remove the live recorded audio and have them use their raw vocals

It can't be the same voice track if music bank has the changed lyrics. It doesn't make sense.
Ignoring the changed lyrics, the tracks are still exactly the same.
dallak93 then that means they're actually consistent. it doesn't make sense to compare these two because the lyrics are changed in the one.
I'm sorry, I don't see why one, and just one changed word in the lyrics throws out the whole comparison.
I'm not saying it throws out the comparison. I'm saying that if the lyric is changed in the one it has to be a separate voice track. They're probably just consistent performers.

arent the same listen to 00:59 maybe are the same but here 00:59 i listen a diferent sounds :3
same here
+Jhonys Show Which sounds exactly? I'm genuinely curious.
Not a different lyrics but krystal voice is looks different at the end of her part
I don't understand people who come to the KPop world expecting to hear live vocals.. like can you not -_-
Sevta22 well that would be completely ignoring K-pop groups who actually care enough to sing live, let alone stan one of them
dallak93
I'm talking specifically about idol groups, and while yes, you may find an idol group that sings life, almost 99% of them mostly don't.

how unnecessarily extra
?
So what if it pre recorded at least the sang live a couple of times .. Exo didn't even do one live. I love Exo

It is prerecorded real vocals, they juest pretend to sing.

Yes, you're right. They do use "caterpillar" at Inki, tho. That aside, it's still the same voice track.
