I am so used to seeing HVAC guys in vans or pickups with service bodies but you seem to be using your vehicle and the Milwaukee system effectively. Good video.
Don't worry... so is everyone else haha I get made fun of plenty for my little "match box car" haha
I thought about putting my tools onto a side-car and building my 'shop' around it. The car would be clean and nice for personal use, and all dirty stuff would ride hooked behind. I am only concerned about theft.
I have always thought that a tool trailer of some kind would be cool, but I don't really have much use for one !
Seeing as your videos are straight to the point and not rambling about you aunt's 2nd cousin's meatloaf recipe, I don't think people mind the length of the videos. No need to apologize!
I hate meatloaf too... you'll never get one of those rambles out of me hahaha! Thank you!
What is the box at 15:50? It looks similiar to Keter/Hart Stack'n'Roll.
It is a husky interlocking small parts container, has like the little removable bins but this one I just took them all out - One of my absolute favorites but it’s discontinued. I recently tried to buy about 20 of them to use for shop storage, ordered them and had them shipped just to find that they were different and not what I wanted !
how did you get into automating, i’m in school now and don’t know much outside of the world of standard technicians
I knew someone working where I work now, and basically they let me know about a summer temporary position doing deliveries and other odd things around the office. Basically showed I could work and they sent me out to the field and field trained me - most of our guys tho, come from either an electrical background or standard HVAC and they just show an interest and get into it
Awesome use of a small space! Can you put a link to that collapsible stool in the comments?

Upstate NY huh?
I’m from there too!
Awesome! I'm an hour south of Rochester !
Proof that space efficiency beats volume
wouldn't mind using that space efficiency muscle while also having more volume haha
@@UpstateMaveric very true!
That's a nice little set up. Packout drawers are a game changer makes it easier to get to your tools in tight spaces without having to lift and ove the regular pack out boxes. I also love the Veto bags for carrying my tools have a few of them for plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc. Love your videos all the best.
such a game changer! Thanks for your support, its much appreciated !
Wow almost 1000 subs
So close !
People really underestimate how much stuff these hatchbacks can carry, especially with the roof racks for the ladders lol. Really enjoying your recent content, early congrats on 1k subscribers!
Yes they do! I own another one- a ford Focus and do overnight trips in it, even have slept in it with my girlfriend and 2 dogs with all our hiking gear, very useful little cars ! I appreciate the support !
Hey at 8:35 when going through the packout drawers, there's a red bit holder in the front right cubby. How are you liking that?
Will that tekton socket case fit in the pack out drawers?
1000
we made it !
First!
Nice setup, taking advantage of the small space, had the same style setup with my old car, nice !
awesome ! I would like to try to think of more creative ways to maximize the space but for now this works !
Oh my god, you have just reached 1K level. Congratulations Nic! Let your channel grow! 🤠
in part thanks to you! Thank you for your support!
Have you ever needed or wished you had 4WD for the work vehicle?
Hmmm, considering it’s a fleet vehicle and we don’t get the best tires, yes I’d love to have it. Personally with good tires I actually really like the predictability of the FWD, I drive a Focus and have good Hakkapeliitta tires on which are awesome and I never have an issue, lack of clearance and overall weight if anything. Of course AWD or a true 4WD with good tires would be awesome tho
Ergodyne Bump Cap (they sell full caps, and BYOH inserts). Just found out about them, would have saved me so many minor scrapes, nicks, jabs, and bruises over the years -- for when you don't need a full hard hat, but you want something to keep you from absolutely decking yourself on a beam in a poorly lit ceiling/attic. The only safety gear that matters is what you're wearing when you need it, so even some minimal protection that you'll always wear goes a long way.
I’ll have to check those out, I fully missed showing off my two hard hats that are in the footwell behind the passenger seat, oops! Only really wear them in summer when we are in the depths of heavy construction somewhere
This sounds familiar.... sometimes I'm stuck doing service from my Yaris. But I can take more of my stuff in my car... if I ride in the van, I really just bring my service bag. Everything I need will likely be in the van, and I organize the thing so I know what's in it.
Oh yeah you know what it’s like if you’re rockin a Yaris
@@UpstateMaveric definitely, although I don't tend to need much more than my service bag for most jobs and maybe my folding seat.
Very cool!
Second!
The stool looks neat, I usually use a set of Rack-a-tiers cable stand but it’s fairly bulky
Those are sweet! One of my installers has one, I haven’t really a need for one but I wish I did, cool tool!
Great load out, big fan of the Milwaukee ammo boxes as well
definitely my favorite, but I really love the drawers too
I have that same Tekton set. Good for when the tools need to go to the vehicle, vs. working out of the big chest with socket trays in the garage.
same feeling, I don't love working out of sets like that but when you need to be mobile I think they make one of the best - especially that doesn't cost you your arm and your leg
Little hatchbacks are great. I have a Pontiac Vide and I'm amazed how much I can get in there. Recently spent Christmas in Upstate NY using my Vibe drove from S. Carolina). Very comfortable and great gas mileage. That Pittsburgh ratchet was just on sale for $11. I should have grabbed a couple.
The car packed up to the roof with expensive tools should be equipped with manual gear-box. It would probably make a theft more difficult, especially in USA. 😁
@@pzwolskiThat's funny you say that because my last car was a 5 speed. It was broken into. The truck across the street was stolen the same night. I think it was the 5 speed which kept them from taking my car.
@@conanrdk These morons could probably shift to D only. 🤣 The clutch? What is it?
how do you like SC compared to Upstate NY? i wouldn't mind getting out of here haha - If you see them onsale pick one up! I really like them!
@@UpstateMaveric I love SC. I'm near Charleston and there is so much history. The better taxes, better gases prices, and freedom are well worth the move. We are very happy with the schools here as well. There is no salt on the roads in the winter. No place is perfect, but if you are thinking of moving SC is great! There is some great hiking especially in the foothills.
