    Reiq has been the most helpful RUclips teacher I've ever encountered regarding my learning to draw. His tutorials aren't meant to be a quick way to draw something like "how to draw a girl with hat or something". I never knew how important fundamentals were before his hair tutorial.

    Thank you for pointing out the anatomical landmarks! There is a lack of tutorials that explain about the anatomical landmarks.
    You also did life studies of basic frames, using some nude photos. I think that this is a good thing because artists have to be able to identify landmarks like the nipple line, navel, and even the angle of the (lower abdominal region). Thank you for the tutorial, it really helped!

    reiq..this does help me alot. the male anatomy drawings are a little easier. I always have issues with the female anatomy ..and proportions in general. I'd love to look into classes to take but around where I'm at its pricey. so what books do u recommend to research? thanks again. hope you do something on the male anatomy, too and can't wait for the hands video. 😄

    Seriously solid teaching. And not vague like proko. The thing is you teach HOW to construct form. Fine arty kind of teachers like proko teaches more expression and gesture and little to do with HOW to make those forms.

    • @cestarianinhabitant5898
      @cestarianinhabitant5898 4 года назад +8

      male and female anatomy is almost identical, there's a difference in the jaw (bigger in men) rib cage (elongated in women, shorter in men), abs (differently shaped between the genders) and waist (a slim female waist curves inwards, a slim male waist forms a straight line from the pelvis to the ribcage)
      Those are the only major differences unless you dive into some deeper biology. The process is exactly the same.

    Min 16: 43 the gesture line should devide the rib cage in the half , if the multipennate muscle is oriented to the top as the root of the arms , doesn't mean the rib cage will be diagonal too ... it should be a front view gizmo cube like the reference ... kind regards ...

    This tutorial is very good. I just have one question though...
    What's the purpose of the circle between the two boxes of the torso??

    • @d42
      @d42 3 года назад +3

      probably just to not have 2 boxes randomly float around but actually have them connected by something. also that area is very "strechty" whereas the box areas very stiff - pelvis and chest dont move. a circle just helps to show that a bit more too. but thats just a guess
