Yes Kimi was really on it brilliant driving. What were Ferrari thinking starting with the wrong Tyres?! And they forgot to bring Massa in for Tyres and Fuel earlier in the race. So when they did bring him in it really cost him.
That's why, when you consider what happened in those 2 races, it seems that they did so deliberately at the behest of Bernie and Max. 20 second long gearbox problems and leaving a driver out on tyres where the whole world can see they're down to the canvas, and then not telling him about their condition as he enters a wet pitlane. I remember thinking they should have just awarded Hamilton the championship after this race. I can’t wait for you to post the last two races so I can relive it all coming apart. 2007 was a special season.
One of Lewis Hamilton's most remarkably overlooked victories was a masterclass in wet weather driving. Meanwhile, Toro Rosso experienced a bittersweet moment as they provisionally scored their first point of the season with Liuzzi finishing in 8th place. However, they were stripped of the point because Liuzzi had overtaken under yellow flag conditions, resulting in a 25-second time penalty that relegated him to 9th place. This penalty elevated Adrian Sutil to 8th place, awarding him and the ephemeral Spyker team their first and only point.
Anyone that followed f1 back in the day and actually watched the 2007 season live can not hate Lewis Hamilton unless they have some sort of hidden agenda. Came into the sport, down to earth and ridiculously fast, not intimidated by the current world champion who had just beaten the great Michael Schumacher twice. What a Sensational incredible performance by Lewis Hamilton in Horrendous Conditions! Made no Mistake was showing great race throughout the race was pulling away from Alonso and set the Fastest Lap of the Race!
A mesmerising race. I still think it's probably Hamilton's best race. Full praise to Kimi as well, what he did here paid dividends towards helping him get the title.
When I think about it, this season is quite similar to 1986, another 3 way title race. Lewis would be Nigel Mansell, the young charger that was odds on favorite to win the championship, Alonso would be Nelson Piquet, the wiley old fox & Raikkonen would be Alain Prost, letting the two teammates fight amongst themselves, picking up points when he can & winning races & eventually the championship when everything fell into place.
Thats quite a good comparison apart from the fact that Mansell was a good bit older and had been a bit up and down in his Lotus career whereas Hamilton took to it like a duck to water - Also Hamilton got under Alonso's skin just like Mansell did to Piquet - 86 is the best year of the 80's along with 82 imo
@@ocn14s Yes Mansell's Lotus days were underwhelming & he could have easily been just another mediocre British driver but 86, his second season at Williams he was thrust into the public eye due to his success much like Hamilton in 07.
Good shot at an analogy, but comparing Prost to Raikkonen is... crazy. Ferrari actually could've done much better this season, but made so many mistakes... Raikkonen as a driver was much closer to Mansell (fast but stupid), than to Prost or Piquet (not as fast but much smarter and less erratic).

No spoilers but with the result as it finished, it should be a tap in for McLaren and Lewis, but it wasn't.
No worries, anyone can find out or already knows what happened. In my opinion, Hamilton blew it in the last race doing silly things. Poor start, trying to overtake Alonso when he didn't have to....ect. Peace to y bud.
@@dazuk1969 I don't think it's the attempt to pass Alonso that cost him, he'd have still won the title easily if that was his only issue that race! I do agree with you though, all he needed to do was be careful and bring it home. Something he did a little bit too gently the following year and it nearly cost him!
@@BonnetLicker86313 That's a fair comment, and yes, many things happened in that race. The car conked out at some point which cost him time but he managed to get it going again. I think he had a flat as well ??. But I do think his poor start and that silly move on Alonso on the first lap was where he let it slip. But I agree, the following year he seemed to do everything he could to not win the title.

what was the deal with Fuji? great track but why the change from Suzuka?
I think there were developments going on at Suzuka in those years, so a temporary shift to Fuji for two years
Ferrari strategy. Starting on the wrong tyres, the only team to do so.
Tbh it wasn’t “Ferrari strategy” they tried to game the system by starting on the standard wet because their logic was when the SC was in and when the race starts the track conditions should be near standard wets conditions and the SC going around means lower chance of aquaplaning but the FIA clocked on to what they were trying to do
And yet, despite this, Kimi still won the Title with Ferrari after McLaren threw away the 2003 and 2005 titles for him 👌🏻💁🏼♂️
Crazy mad Decision.
Crazy decision wrong decision.
vettel haboured a grudge about this for decades saying hamilton deliberately brake tested them, well sharp braking, i think some comments in china
Webber blamed Hamilton for messing about behind the Safety Car.
