    Your plant is beautiful. I picked it up without knowing anything about it, loved its purple leaves. And then I saw on youtube that everyone has it as a trailing plant. But mine seems to have very strong stems, I think it will grow like yours. Thanks for the video, I am excited for it! So far I have just been watering it consistently and it had grown twice the size. Didn't even fertilize it once yet!

    Thanks for the tutorial. You have a nice plant and you explain well with your soft calm voice. I have a wandering jew plant too, but this winter it died. Now I got some leaves and trying to propagate it to a new plant. Its really beautiful, I love the colours of the leaves of this plant.

    I have one that I inevitably started a system where I have the main plant a mason jar with holes in the lid and a nursery pot I take the pruning from the main plant put them in the jar then in about a week or so plant them in the nursery by the window I’m going to be building multiple plants looks like it’s a gift that keeps on giving 😁

    I have an extremely large red wandering jew and I will taking your tips to heart and practice so thank you! I do however need your help. I found mealy bugs on mine. It is in a 10 inch pot and is 3 feet long. I decided to chop at soil level and start over but, how can I be sure I have killed them all. You know how easy it would be to miss one in thisplant. They hate being soaked so the alcohol solution I am using may damage this plant. Can you please help?!!!

      Take some clippings from your plants if they and long and place them in a glass of water they will get roots within a couple of days the repot your plant with the newly rooted clipping, the more clipping you take the fuller the plant will be. These plants are hardy you can have a full plant in under two weeks.

      Madeline, Red Gem is a variety of Zebrina, hers appears to be Zebrina Silver Plus. They all can change coloring somewhat according to the amount of sun they're given.

    Your wandering jew has a very small and not visible gap between the leaves which I wanna have to my plant in the garden.

    • @SpiceKitchen29
      @SpiceKitchen29  2 года назад +2

      The trick is to keep it in a place where it can get some sunlight and the stems do not stretch out in search of it. Morning sun should be fine. Hope this helps 😊

  • @homegardenideas8759

    Why does my wandering jew only have like three vines? I want more foliage but I don't know what to do 😩😩😩😩😩

    • @SpiceKitchen29
      @SpiceKitchen29  3 года назад +1

      Trim your vines and put your trimmings back into the same soil. It roots very easily, just keep the soil moist and make sure to remove the lower leaves of the trimmings. You will have a fuller plant in no time 😊

      @@SpiceKitchen29 but your video said to put it in a bright spot/window but not in direct sunlight 🤷‍♀️ so this advice is somewhat contradicting. Pls clarify. I also have this plant and it’s losing it’s purple colour and about 1/3 of the leaves near the crown tends to droop a bit. I water it every 10 days or so when soil is somewhat dry at the top. Could you pls advise on that. TIA
