Fo the food you should try : Banh xeo ( Vietnamese pancake with shrimp and bean sprouts. “ Banh coun is a rice flour rolls with mushrooms and pork. Bun bo Hue is a dish from Hue imperial city. Bun rieu is a noddle soup with crab 🦀, tomatoes Com tam is broken rice with grilled pork, eggs. Etc.... always ask the locals for recommendations.

Although Japanese food is delicious, when in Vietnam, you should definitely try Vietnamese cuisine. Ironically, food on the street is often tastier and cheaper than in restaurants or shopping malls. From the look, one way street Nguyen Du (Nguyen Du upscale residence across the street), close to Tao Dan park (2 blocks away from Ben Thanh market), small temple at the oppsite corner you guys were walking away from, worth a visit. And you guys wee walking toward the School of music, then the Independence palace & court house.
48:59 not only him, there are many babers on the street (have many cheaper than him because he is in tourist area so price must be expensive), also there are some groups on street cut for free (u can search on youtube). My homecity is HCMc too. ps: 7 years ago when I lived in HCMc I prefer cut hair with price 20-30k in the shop, sometimes cut on the street with same price (80k for a street cut is expensive in my opinion, the quality of babers in Vietnam is high even the price is so cheap).
