at this exact point was when i knew i needed to step my game up to get my f10 on some good vibes and ready to be called a proper sleeper... i appreciate all the things you have shared and your willingness to help when i reached out personally. thanks for your time and energy and keep the good content coming
Glad I could help!
grant, i gotta say man, i am in love with the look and the sound of your f10. i got my own stock 2011 f10 535i and im about to mod the crap out of it lol. ive been doing maintenance but im almost all caught up and ready to mod!
That’s awesome! Let me know if you have any questions and keep me posted on the mods.
How’s it going?
It’s come a long way and the numbers are showing it. Nice work Bro 👍🏽
Thanks bro! How have you been?
@@JohnsonMotorsports doing great, working on film and car projects. Hopefully, all is well your way.
On e85?
@@mogulme6190 I’m running an E50 blend.
Those torque numbers are crazy WOW!
Yeah, I love it!
Just from a tune and fbo no upgraded turbo that's good numbers. I'm surprised he didn't have the hood open to exhaust the heat from the engine bay. Other then that good stuff man!!
Yeah, not a bad idea.
Im liking the beefy tire look. It suits the car well. I would choose wheels that would match the thicker tires, but I like the look!
I’m actually trying to figure out what I want to do about wheels. I may sell my other set and go wider. Actually even considered some X5 wheels. They are 20x10 & 20x11, but considerably heavier.
@@JohnsonMotorsports I like the alfa romeo "5 hole" wheels off the Giulia. i wonder how they'd suit
@@DarkstarNovembr I’d have to see those wheels.
N55 sounds soooooooo freaking good
🙏🏽
That David's tune is doing work man. I'm definitely going with him for my build.
Yeah, I love it. He’s the man!
Brother you should look into sheunk turbo, David is doing some work with them and they’re getting great numbers compared to some other turbos.
@@NotJooob That's the plan. I have been in contact with the owner. The full name of the company is Shuenk/FrankenTurbo. I think in the video I just referred to them as FrankenTurbo.
@@JohnsonMotorsports yeah I’m in contact with him also. Are you going for the n55+ or the f55 turbo?
@@NotJooob Eddy and I are both waiting on the F55 turbo. What about you?
that was awesome, I'll be waiting for the turbo
Thanks bro!
Killing it with that beast!!!
Thanks bro!!!
This thing with exhaust valve must have ! Great job
Yeah, I love my cutouts
Beast!!!!
Well I’ve been modding mine almost since I got it a bit over 2 years ago. I changed from mhd’s previous n55 tune to the newest revision and I seem to have developed some sort of stutter. Misfire maybe but I did coils and plugs. When it started all I did was update the tune to latest version and this started. I ordered new coils to do again with hopes one is going out and only happens when in the boost or top end. Any ideas besides coils? New ones will be here tomorrow for a Saturday install. Thanks and keep it up. Love the Chanel
Hey Grant, another great video bro! Question, when on the Dino do you pull in third gear? I’ve heard third and fourth?
All my pulls were in 5th gear.
I just converted the numbers. That's 441 brake H.P and 600 ft lbs of crank torque.
Awesome! Yeah, it’s a lot more than that now. Hope to be back on the dyno in a few weeks.
A custom tune would make you hit 400+hp and more HP on redline, i ditched my jb4 after it dumped more boost when the car entered check engine light and half power...
I have a custom tune from David Shoup. I ditched the JB4 around a year ago.
Rafael, also ditched jb4 was also having check engine light. Mhd is worth it!
I went with bootmod3. I hope I'm not disappointed.
Very nice result dude! Is it WHP/WTQ or adjusted ones? From a F10 535i PWG car?
These were numbers at the wheels on the Dyno jet.
Baby snail!!😂😂 Crazy on the torque. I was looking at pure turbos for a stage 2. What company were you looking at again? Awesome vid!
FrankenTurbo. Apparently they are big with N54’s. Send me a message on Facebook messenger and I’ll get you an invite to the Facebook page.
I’m looking at Vargas GC
@@ksmgaming9146 why Vargas?
@@JohnsonMotorsports because the whp numbers are better than the pure stage 2, I have the Vargas stage 1 right now and no problems with it
Wow amazing numbers ! Both of the cars are PWG right ? If so I’m sure the EWG will add 30+ HP and be able to reach 400WHP!
Yeah, both are PWG. Yeah, the EWG should get you more. Plus like I said in the video, you actually get more power with the car moving because of the ram air.
@@JohnsonMotorsports lmao !!!!!!!!!
Ram air ? On a FI car, lol
@@Kickrocks1234 Yeah, the intake filter location helps force air into the turbo inlet. After the intake install my data logs were showing roughly a 15% reduction in Wastegate % and on highway pulls I get more MAF g/s.
@@JohnsonMotorsports that’s impressive for a pwg, I’ve heard that the f10 pwg turbo is even smaller than the f30 pwg turbo.
I’ve seen an f10 ewg make over 400whp on the stock turbo and 93 octane, but it did have a Dorch stage 1 fuel pump and those cost as much as a larger turbo
@@PapiAndrey Yeah, I’m pretty sure this turbo is smaller. Should get really spicy with the turbo upgrade coming soon.
Hi,I’m Tiffy. We are the factory of headlight with BMW,Benz,Audi,LEXUS,Toyota. We have OEM headlights, facelift headlights, lens cover, housing and so on
Nice!
You need to ditch the JB4 man, get a MHD Stage 2+ tune and you’ll 100% achieve the 400+ Hp benchmark
I ditched the JB4 over a year ago. I’m running a custom tune by David Shoup. Also, if you see the end of the video, I am confident in ram air conditions I am at the 400hp mark. Next will be turbo upgrade.
hey grant if you dont mind just quickly explaining.. do you believe the 500 or so tq came from either the addition of cutouts the lpfp or do you think it was just the custom tune itself that made the difference.. most dont post custom tune dyno numbers so everyone has the idea that by going fbo and stage 2 with jb4 mhd or bm3 can get 400 hp and 400 tq or so, just wanted to ask your opinion thanks man
In my opinion, it’s a combination of the custom tune, E50 and supporting mods.
Do you have any fueling mods? HPFP or LPFP? Wondering if they would be worth the $ and how much they would increase power/torque
I have a WALBRO 450 lpfp. My hpfp is the early N55 stock unit that was a carryover from the N54. It is the plunger style hpfp and I’ve been told is good for 100% E85.
Hi just i have the same car how you make dino mode because i cant make it ??????
It can be hard to figure out. Still not sure if mine was in dyno mode. The menu is different with my 6wb cluster.

Hey Man, I’ve been watching and loving your videos for a long time now!
I just wanted to ask if you had any idea what these codes on my 2011 E92 335i (N55) mean…
- DME active codes
280E - Absolute pressure sensor, intake pipe,
plausibility, coastdown: Pressure too high.
2BE9 - Cylinder injection cutout: Pressure too low in high-pressure fuel system.
2C01 - High pressure fuel, plausibility Pressure
too low.
- DME shadow (inactive) codes
2820 - Absolute pressure sensor, intake pipe:
Multiple fault.
2BDE Fuel high pressure on enabling of
injection: pressure too low
2BEF Kraftstoffhochdruck nach Freigabe der
Einspritzung: Druck zu niedrig
2BF0 Kraftstoffhochdruck bei oder nach

Replace ur hpfp
@@FiefysLashes Already did that about 6 months ago, all I have left now are 2BDE and 2BF0 shadow codes. I changed my:
HPFP
LPFP
Fuel Pressure Regulator and they’re still here…
@@2stocke9x jees. Thats a tough one.. Maybe an injector issue (maybe flow test if u get the energy) or could it be the in tank fuel pick up?? Did the issue happen after u replaced the lpfp?
@@2stocke9x could just be that ur hpfp sensor has gone too.. easiest check and replace of my suggested 3
@@FiefysLashes I only noticed the 2 Shadow codes after installing my new HPFP which is perfectly fine to my knowledge… And I installed it correctly.
You need to straight piped it. It will get more power
Too loud at my old age. 😂
Plus I’m well beyond that power at this point. I installed a FrankenTurbo F55 last year. Hope to hit the dyno soon, should be around 600 whp.
is your car a PWG or EWG
PWG, it’s a 2011.
Man I want cutouts so bad
Yeah, that are cool. I like mine.
Are those torque numbers consistent? Like right now if you put it on another dyno it would hit 450 +?
Yes sir. You can definitely feel that torque too.
@@JohnsonMotorsports damn that’s honestly impressive for the pwg. I just got a 13’ 535i I’m wanting to do catless dp , fmic and a tune n that’s it.
Are those aftermarket headlights/bulbs?
Yes.

my e60 535xi makes about 450 just fbo i was thinking id get an f10 n55 but that’s kinda dukie
All depends on what you want. I’m working through my PI and custom tune at the moment, should be over 600 whp now.
Stop you're not making that on a e60 with just bolt ons anyone who says their car is making about set number hp has no idea what it's actually making
Stage 1 or Stage 2? Good run
I am on a custom tune. At this point I have passed Stage 2.
What's a good Price for the f30 calipers?
I have never priced the f30 calipers. I am running G30 calipers, but those should be around $700 for the calipers.
DM on IG, if you are wanting a set. I source parts like this for people all the time.
@@JohnsonMotorsports Thanks for the info, sorry I meant G30 I have been checking ebay for prices. Since I replaced the Audi for the F10 plan on doing a upgrade series on my channel.
@@JohnsonMotorsports I sent you a message the other day if you do get a set for a good price one that needs some work as I plan on changing the color let me know same user name Project Z garage.
is have a upgraded intercooler?
Yes. RVG front mount intercooler.
What performance mods do you plan to do , turbo still?
Yeah, FrakenTurbo F55. Should be good for close to 650whp. I already have all other supporting mods.
Same here im upgrading my lpfp this week. Have the old style hpfp too
Are you running 93 octane or e30? In that dyno?
Runnin E50 and custom tune from David Shoup.
Hello, Stage 1 or stage 2 your f10 ?
Well this dyno was on a custom David Shoup E50 tune. Since then, I have swapped to a FrankenTurbo F55. Huge increase in power!
I might have missed it were you on pump 93 for this?
I was on a E50 blend.
So you didn’t need a hpfp?
Nope! Still going strong!
@@JohnsonMotorsportsdamn everyone saying you need a hpfp guess not tho how much race fuel you using e85?
@@JustLuuchi I’m on E50, actually running the FrankenTurbo F55 now.
@@JohnsonMotorsports I’m fbo no upgraded turbo and no hpfp do you reckon I can use e85 on stock hpfp no issues ?
You can, but the amount of E85 you can use will depend on your model year. I have an early model n55, produced in 2010. It has the n54 style hpfp which can flow enough for full e85. Newer n55’s have a different hpfp that will cap out around E50, maybe less.
How much is carbon cleaning?
I did my own carbon cleaning.

@@JohnsonMotorsports have you ever used seafoam in your gasoline for injectors? I have on other cars but am scared to on the BMW just because of all the electronics.
@@tyronehernandez9962 I have not on the BMW. I’ve heard it’s best to just use the Techron fuel system cleaner. It’s basically the same stuff BMW sells.
@@JohnsonMotorsports ok cool. Thank you
Anyone know a good tune shop in MN?
What are you trying to have done? What part of MN? I don’t know of any, but I try to visit the Twin Cities every year.
@@JohnsonMotorsports dyno? I’m in Rochester mn. You?

How much millage you got on that baby now ?
163k. Getting up there.
@@JohnsonMotorsports wow man ok that’s cool you change the Transmission fluid? The car still looks brand new that’s one thing I like about BMW they age very well
@@zlord1199 Definitely agree!
What gear did you pull it in?
All pulls were in 5th gear.
LOL N55
What’s funny?
Think you can squeeze out 400hp with a hpfp added?
I have the old N54 style hpfp so I have plenty of room. Biggest limitation at the moment is the small stock turbo. Just purchased the new F55 FrankenTurbo last week, so big numbers are coming.
@@JohnsonMotorsports can wait to see that torque rating with new turbo is you’re getting this much from a stock turbo
@@BlvckPapa Yeah, I’m really excited! Bought the new turbo last week, waiting for it to ship out.
@@JohnsonMotorsports I plan on copying your current build on my 435i, Hoping for similar power numbers
@@BlvckPapa Awesome. Keep me posted on the build.
Nice work! That’s about what I was getting with a PS2. As soon as I got my Helix OD and increased fueling I crossed the 420whp range. More fuel is your friend. 500+ wtq is a dangerous place for the trans. On my manual with a stage 2 spec clutch and a single mass, it held but last about 2 years. David Shoup is the man to clear 400+ whp
Yeah, I’m looking into a Transmission solenoid& seal kit know, because of my mileage. Not sure what I will need to do, when I get the new turbo and start pushing into the 650whp range.
@@JohnsonMotorsports which solenoid and seal kit did you find, I've been looking for the same
