It does show how in the manga canon, which this is based on, had Kai in a much better light in some areas, and that he also, for his flaws and mistakes, got to learn and grow as a person too from meeting Aichi again, and seeing how he could be able to move on.
I like that psyqualia isn’t portrayed as inherently evil in this series like it was in the original. It’s more like a tool that can be either positive or negative depending on how the user allows it to effect or influence them.
Yeah, it's also based I'd say on the person who awakens its' personality and traits, like with Tetsu assuming Ren's obsessive nature to surpass Kai in any way, especially if it meant beating Aichi who beat Kai, was part of it, but I chalk that up more to Ren's own background. And any power can be used for good or for evil.
Aichi's psyqualia power is overwhelming!! Sad backstory for Kai, but give him credit for never giving up :)

Yes same here Kai never gave up and he inspired Aichi to never give up ether if Aichi had never met Kai he would have been the same person he was in the beginning of the story and when Aichi and Kai met for the first time it was fait and Kai met Aichi again the Kai Aichi meet again is different Kai that thinks that he do not need anyone and always think that he can solve anything on his own without any friends to help him but he learn from it and and finally understood that he was not alone anymore he has friends that love him and care very much for him Aichi was the same he had no friends and was very lonely but he met Kai again and he met all the others that change his life forever and same with Kai he met Miwa again and Aichi and all the others friends he has now
Deplorable David sadder when you realize in a different show, Kai would be a serial killer. He openly admits the reason he used overlord was because he liked his flames and it related to how he wanted to throw everyone into a pit of fire and watch them burn

So instead of Kai's parents passing away they stole money from a big corps. and ditched their son. Honestly that's worse IMO, it kinda shows they didn't cared about Toshiki and as a result he carries the actions of his parents with him, even tho he wasn't involved. I see a theme with this series, each character has their own burdens and ways of making them outsiders to society. Still a good episode, knowing how Aichi and Kai felling like they don't belong is relatable since I've been down that road when I was young.

In my opinion, I thought the first 26 episodes of the reboot were ok (like you said it's not amazing but I'm still enjoying it) but everything after that point I felt things derailed pretty fast.
Kinda sad they didn’t revamp the old storyline with just the new skills in game, such as Kai using the end on ren and aichi using blaster dark along with majesty lord blaster
