    Perfect, thank you. Just returned from buying a kit from the box store, 50 bucks for 16 feet, it also included a remote, connectors, etc. Since these will replace my motorhome 1 foot fluorescents, no need for the extra parts. Ordered light strips per your Amazon link to include that nifty self adjusting wire stripper you also linked to!

    You would think aftre watching so many of these videos, that the heatshrink goes on first. nope doing my hilux wires the other day, sure enough no shrink lol, luckily I hadn't soldered but had the wires all nicely twisted for soldering. An easy thing to do, thanks for the vid, am going to do something like this as well but with an on/off switch
    Much appreciated

    Great video! I'm experimenting with building a camper in the bed of my pickup truck. It'll have a separate battery - I'll need to connect a diesel heater, fridge, and some lights there.

    I think a great use of this would be to splice into your existing car 12V exterior lights to create accent lighting on a vehicle. You can splice right onto your running lights, back up lights, or blinkers, no power supply needed. As long as the adhesive is quality enough for exterior use, or even some clear silicone adhesive to attach the LED strip to the auto. Also could be great for wiring to the 12V battery in a camper with a switch
    Thanks, this cleared up a lot of my questions. After seeing some exterior car accent lighting selling for over $70 for a one foot piece of strip light, I think people could save a lot of money just DIY-ing this way!

    Curious? Wont it shorten the life span of the LEDs doing it this way V.S. using the power adapter that they always say to use ? They say it should never be higher then 12 volts but when we start up and drive that goes up to 13+ volts. Your input is greatly appreciated

    Hey mate I want to do something a bit similar but want to make grow lights for for using a car battery and LED UV lights. as Long as I used 12 volt lights or over it is fine on a 12volt car battery yes? Do I not need a invertor to reduce the power? I read a fully charged acid batter is 12.7, Using over this voltage in LED's is fine yes is it, but puts out less light? Less that 12Volt lights and you will burn them out.

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  Год назад

      You should be fine. Only need an inverter for running a/c devices

      @@BrianWatersOutdoors Ah brilliant! thanks for the fast reply as I'm keen to get going. You just earned yourself an new subscriber for that 🙂 am I right in saying more lights is fine but it uses more power so less light? pc what is best for growing? RED white and blue or just a straight up UV strip? I'm worried about food prices.

      @@bobprobert353 thanks👍🏻 I really have no idea on best light spectrum for growing, but LEDs are different than standard halogen or incandescent lights. They won’t lose power the more you add as long as your battery can handle everything. Once you don’t have enough power the lights will simply cut off.

    Does this "jSMD50/50 led strip you refer to come with adhesive backing. Is it DIMMABLE ? Can you only cut on the 1 ft. increments as you seemed to indicate. Can you buy led tape that is different luminosity (brightness)? Can you buy led tape that is different heat color (Kelvin)?
    As you are showing these fairly intricate processes, your camera is 3ft. + or - from your work greatly limiting the detail what you are trying to depict. If you want us to "see" what you obviously see, the camera should be much closer. Be careful with that open flame torch. I believe that liquid tape is made with acetone. :)
