- YOIUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Members of The Youngstown Housing Task Force - YHTF made their voices heard on Wednesday as they gathered to protest the practices of Allstate Property Management who manages the properties for Youngstown Houses LLC.
Youngstown Houses LLC owns 304 houses in the city of Youngstown - 90 of which are in code enforcement, according to Ian Beniston, executive director of the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation.
"There's very significant issues at these houses. We're not just talking about little minor things, but active roof leaks, ceilings caving in [and] black mold," Beniston says. "Additionally, they've been raising the rent - doubling the rent of many of the tenants."

Imagine destroying a home to the point it is unlivable and then crying that the landlord won't fix it...
I live here. I see how these homes end up. The tenants often don't report damage because they know they'll be liable. That ends up making the situation worse.
Wishing YHTF the best of luck in getting Allstate Property Management to fix up their properties.
Wishing Allstate the best of luck getting the tenants to pay for the damage they cause to those homes they don't own.
If you dont like it. Then move out....
If you don't like managing properties, get out of the business.
@@DeltaHalothis has been a complaint since the 60's. Back then, they literally burned their own neighborhoods down and made the slumlords rich with insurance payouts allowing them to buy up more broken down homes that they brought up to code to rent. The biggest problem is the tenants destroying the homes. Literally destroying them to the point they are unlivable. These renters often don't report the problems because they don't want to pay for them. If you were from here, you'd know that.
