Out of curiosity, how do you think it would turn out if you put a giant acrylic panel or some other diffusing material in this build, similar to the hexagon nanoleaf project? Do you think it would have enough light in there to look cool?
Thanks so much! I definitely read every comment and try to respond to every one (even the mean ones lol) Appreciate the support and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
@@chasetreadwell8191 I had the same idea and I tried putting some acrylic in front of it and it looked great! Might make a video of that sometime. But you might need to adjust the size of the hexagon to fit the piece of acrylic. Great suggestion!
Thanks so much for watching! That's a great idea! Thanks for the tip! Light definitely does not bounce off as bright and vibrant on darker surfaces as they do white. Thanks buddy!
Thanks so much! Glad you like them! Have a blessed day!

That looks so good, especially after adding the Christmas tree. I’ll probably do soldering similar but with a LED strip, as I have a ton of them laying around. Great work!
Thanks for watching! I'll ask ask my brother who is much better with that type of thing if he can help me put together a blueprint. No promises but I'll try!
This is awesome, but most people don't have those machines and the wood to make this lamp, it's hard to find the appropriate wood, Still difficult thing to make
I learned from my grandfather, he was a skillful oldschool carpenter, that all these operations we can make just with a miter box, handsaw, hand jigsaw, hand drill, chisel and a hammer. Also in soviet Russia we had a school lessons of hand making some things - such as shelves, stools. And all these stuff we made without any machinery. Just with hand tools. You can do more that you think!
@@uncledemon Well said and actually things that were crafted by hand long ago were made to last 😉 I just discovered this channel yesterday and I love his creations 🔥
I'm curious as to why you cut the boards with the miter saw, then did the angles with the table saw. Does your miter saw not also tilt to the side to do those angles?
Great observation! The miter saw can definitely do it. However, I tried making a hexagon using the miter saw and then with the table saw and the hexagon I made using the table saw turned out a little bit better. My miter saw might need to be tightened a little since there is a little wiggle as I'm brining the saw down which might explain why the cuts were not quite perfect.
Hahah yes harbor freight!! I only recently found out about them. Clamps only cost me an arm instead of an arm and a leg! Love the place. No to tik tok. Im to old to keep up with all the new platforms lol
thanks for watching! I just go on youtube and search for synthwave music or lofi 8bit or just lofi and there are always a lot of good music out there with sweet backgrounds!
I used an ultra slim rgbw recessed light that you would find in a ceiling. I put the link in the description. It does look like amazon is currently sold out of the 1 pack option.
I would never make these cuts with just a fence, a miter gauge would be my minimum to feel comfortable safely making these cuts and I'd more likely use a crosscut sled. Everybody gets to make their own safety choices but I would never cut anything with the short edge of the work piece against the fence, the odds of twisting and kickback are too high for my comfort.

Great job. It would be nice if you reduced the music volume a bit. It "gets in the way".
Thanks for watching and the feedback! I'll for sure remember that for my next video. Thanks!
Nooo the music is banging
Awesome DIY. What was the video you watched that inspired you to make this?.
Thanks!! I just looked for it but couldn't find it but someone made something similar from pvc pipes which is where I got the idea from!
Chris drops another LED bomb with this one. Third person to comment! Woohoo.
lol thanks Dustin!
Thank you for the idea, btw can you make your designs into some sort of blueprint and attach that link in description. It'll be very helpful.
Thanks for watching! I'll ask ask my brother who is much better with that type of thing if he can help me put together a blueprint. No promises but I'll try!
I like DIY Lamp
Thank you!! Appreciate the support and thanks for watching!
Nicely done. I wonder, is there going to be an LED coffee table in the future?
Thanks for watching! Thats a really good idea! I might have to try something down the road!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks for making videos. A coffee table seems like the logical progression from your other videos, that's why I asked ;)
Nice bro

You should create a website and sell these

What type of led did you use what are they called

Why not use a hole saw and a router..?
That's a great idea! Never even thought of that!
can i use cardboard?
Might be tricky to make with cardboard but for sure its something you can try!
Ditch the glove when using a table saw. That’s such a bad idea!!
Thanks so much for watching and the tips! I'll ditch them for sure. Thanks for looking out!
its amazing but there's nothing easy about this
Thanks for watching and for the comment! I agree. If you don't have the tools, it would be pretty difficult and very time consuming. Thanks again!
