You're so right. I have given all my trust to producers and mixers and my songs were so bad... I recently started to spend time every day to really learn about my gear and after only a month I have learnt so much! Thanks for your video, it's so helpful!
Great advice here. I decided to drop the idea of buying a patchbay, tons of cables, and a drum machine, and instead reduced everything to the Eventide H90.
Love it. If you have the H90, you may like the videos I’ve made on it. Check this one out as a taster: ruclips.net/video/_kZWN0nS52k/видео.htmlsi=5wRgRCm0vkfX3BKR
I also luv serum its a must have, i also recently purchased phase plant because i like making presets but serum is so easy to get a sound, i personally luv oldskoolverb for my reverb
Its really hard to take advice like this from someone who has £20,000 worth of gear around him whilst saying "use less". not meant to be mean but... if your advice was worth anything you wouldn't have so much gear and be making tunes like Tour Tet from a laptop?! I mean... your delay costs £2000 alone!!! Your advice is right but making that video with so much gear (including a brand new Moog Muse) just seems like a mad idea that makes no sense. Basically this entire video is hypocrisy at its finest.
Look I totally agree. I guess I was trying to make the point that I’m in a fortunate position to be able to afford lots of gear. But I’ve also learned that the gear isn’t actually “needed”. My most successful track to date was made 90% in Ableton. Gear is great fun but if you want to improve your craft of making music you should take the advice in my video and focus on what you have.
not true imo. new gear helps me a lot making new music. btw, U can always sell this new gear later (after U test it and decide if its for U or not for U)
I agree that new gear CAN take your creativity in a new direction. I just find that most people haven’t yet fully explored or understood how to use what they already own. I include myself in this category!

That sounds amazing. Keep going. Keep learning.
