Went up there 16 months ago, brilliant experience. Me and the mates expected to be out of breath when outside, but the weird thing was we felt totally fine outside, but when inside the building and walking up step we felt ruined, haha. Definietely worth going up, we spent hours there.
Outstanding scenery. An incredibly complex structure at the top of that altitude. Only a drone could have us enjoy the view, even better than the visitor on the balcony. But I'll still like to be there some day :)
This is awesome! We were there on that top observation deck last summer as one of the side trips while doing the Tour du Mont Blanc. It's a whole different perspective with the aerial view, clouds (we had clear blue sky and you could see Chamonix below), and all the snow. Thanks for sharing :-)!
Many years ago I did the traverse route and returned the same way. We missed the final cable down by 15 mins, spent the coldest night ever on the floor of the gents with scavenged cardboard boxes on the floor as bedding.
The thin air didn't appear to affect the drone at all. Great shot! Especially difficult given the bright sunlight off the snow, but you pulled it off. I'm guessing you added an ND filter to the camera?

Thanks! Yes the drone handles the altitude and cold temperature well. We used a strong ND filter (ND64) to bring the shutter speed down.

Ja, das war das Phantom. Alle DJI-Drohnen sind sehr ähnlich. Das Phantom wird nicht mehr verkauft.

The whole structure! The maximum point is the red rocket (the 'needle'), which reflects a shadow on the town below at exactly midday in winter.
