In a one sided STOMPING by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jerome Bettis goes for over 100 yards in just ONE half of play. Hadn't Bill Cowher rested him, I imagine Jerome could have gone for potentially 150-200 yds!

A true Steeler.
Jerome Bettis will always be remembered as a Pittsburgh Steeler. He proved he had everything left in the tank & gave it back to his former team.
Thanks again for watching & as always, don’t forget to subscribe! Steelers content of all types coming! 🖤💛 HERE WE GO!
Lawrence Phillips, Bettis' replacement on the Rams: 5 carries, 6 yards.
And he ended up having a worse life (found dead in his jail cell in 2016 from suicide.) He was already doing time in prison (assault with a deadly weapon and assaulting his girlfriend) and had been a suspect in connection with his cellmate's murder the year before.
Jerome Bettis is one of the greatest Steelers of all time. He's a gentleman who will always be loved by Pittsburgh fans. He gave us all some great thrills over the years and went out a champion.
My favorite player bro hope najee can turn out like him
My favorite player too, him, young Big Ben, young Troy Polamalu, prime Hines Ward, Joey Porter and Bill Cowher made me fall in love with the Steelers
We need what Benny Snell did vs the Giants and Ravens last year
A RB that can run out the clock at the end of games
Najee needs to do that, be the ball control RB that gets 1st downs and controls the clock
Not me…says the Browns fan!😂😂
Saying Jerome Bettis was washed up is the epitome of a "that didn't age well" comment.
Freezing cold takes worthy!
@@CowboynLilbits Haha!!! Yes!
The bus said, wait till they get a load of me! He was going to make the Rams pay! And did he ever. The bus was the best trade the Steelers ever made.
@@onepunch9203 I believe Joe Hayden was a free agent after Cleveland cut him for salary cap reasons. He most definitely has been a great acquisition for the Steelers.💪💪🏈 Minkah was a very good trade as well.
Also trading up to get Polomalu in 03 and Bush in 19 was also great as well!
@@onepunch9203 don't forget James Farrior I think he was pretty good and I believe we got him from the Jets.
@@onepunch9203 so true how could I ever forget Kevin Greene. May he rest in peace from what I understand he was not just a great football player but a great guy.
I remember the day Bettis got the nickname "The Bus", although I can't find the specific highlight. Dude broke into the secondary and ran for daylight. 4 players jumped on him from behind and tried to tackle him, but he just kept running with them attached.
The announcer (probably Myron Cope) says " It's like they just hopped on a PAT bus and rode it into the end zone" and the name stuck.
It was Myron Cope
Boy did it stick!! I remember them doing a couple of features with him behind the wheel of PAT buses after that and them doing a wrap on a bus with him to advertise buying bus passes. He was meant to be a Steeler with the way he ran the ball. Him coming here was a perfect fit
It was Cope who brought the nickname to Pittsburgh. I believe that he originally received the nickname when he was playing in college at ND. I miss Myron Cope. So wacky, so energetic, completely Pittsburgh! He really represented the "everyman" in the greater Pittsburgh area. His accent, his use of Pittsburgh area slang, his zany way of expressing himself. People who were not familiar with the area often had a hard time understanding exactly what Myron was getting at sometimes. Being born in Little Washington (40 south of Pittsburgh) I could understand and relate to Mr.Cope.💐🙏REST IN PEACE MYRON 🙏💐
Man!!!!! I miss these days!!!! No running back that size should be able to make cuts like Jerome did!! He was a freak!! Thank you Jerome for some of my best memories as a Steeler fan.
Prolly the best trade for the Steelers ever. JB was one of a kind. So much a better fit for him going to the Steelers than his run as a Ram would ever be.
he is my all time favorit player! 🤩
omg I remember this game! It was glorious to see Jerome bring a Keg of "Whoop Ass" to play his old team with. :D
Love my Steelers
Love me some Bus. The nice thing about being a Steelers fan is being able to look back on such rich history of great play when the current season ends too soon.
Rich Brooks knew after that game his days in St. Louis were numbered. Worst player evaluator in the NFL. Chuck Knox knew Bettis was special and that's why he was drafted so high in '93. Top 10 I believe. Won rookie of the year in 93 finishing second to only Emmitt Smith in yards and average nearly 5 yards per carry. Ran all over our Blitzburgh defense that year in an upset loss for the Steelers. He was immediately one of my favorite players and when I heard we traded for him in 96 I was shocked and ecstatic. Best trade ever!
JB is an all time great Steeler back. A great game against his former team. Let us not forget that O-line that manhandled the Ram “D”
Dawson jackson strelzcyk wolford and myslinski. Brendan stai musta been injured
My dad was at that game. What a legend!
One of my favorites.
Don't realize what you have until it's gone. So true as we were dead last in the running game last year and the 3rd down and one yard we never converted. You know you have left your mark in the world when an NFL fan talks about "The Bus" and you know who it is and who he played for! Excellent video💯
The Bus is an NFL icon. One of a kind! Thank you for watching! 🖤💛
Besides getting excited watching the Bus get up & high step to the huddle, I also loved Myron Cope getting so excited about him & stuttering
Probably my personal favorite steeler
Agreed Jared!
JB since he was in ND he became my first favorite RB . I wanted him in Dallas which would’ve been epic since we had our first super bowl win of the 90s.
Nice old school videos 👌
I like the serie!
Very good job 👌
Here we go STEELERS 💛
Thank you 🖤💛 Glad you’ve been enjoying these!
It looked like Lyght was CHEERING for The BUS on that 50 yard TD. They shook hands and had legit pleasantries after the game.
Went to college together. They were boys
A halfback in a fullback's body with elite hands / feet, deceptive speed, could make a LB miss, take it to the house AND move the sticks in short yardage...top 5 back all-time. 🏉
Here i am 2022 still watching the bus do bis thang
I remember this game, I remember a lot of these games. I was 14.
One of the greatest, bar none!!
Ohhh the memories....thx Yinzburgh
Of course! Thanks for watching! 🖤💛
THE BUS!!
My favorite steelers channel. Love your content as you post a lot of forgotten games by many. Thanks a ton
Thank you so much 🖤💛 I’m glad you enjoy them!
It's pretty damn good
Wearing his 96 throwback today
NICE!!
1:37 Great block by #34 Tim Lester.
I miss the bus bro. Dude back then we use to destroy mf's with the running game. Ground and pound.
Free Bus rides, compliments of Jerome Bettis.
He looks about 25 pounds bigger than the fullback. Classic
The wheels on the bus go round and round
They couldn't stop the Bus. 👍
Coming of age!! Thanks for the upload yinz!
Love your channel, Steelers all the way. 💪💪💪
I always thought Bettis wanted out of the Rams I can't believe it was us that thought he was done
Najee gonna do that and line up at wide out 😊😊
Jerome still works in the burg, as a sportscaster!
I remember when we got Betis from the rams, I said to my brother they say he is a problem, my brother told me he played for notre dame he is not a problem, they never would have played him if he was a trouble maker.
When the news broke that the Steelers had acquired Bettis my only response was, "hmm." Didn't follow Notre Dame, didn't follow the Rams. Didn't know Bettis. I trusted the Rooneys and Cowher and hoped the Steelers could squeeze some good out of Jerome. Never expected anything like what Pittsburgh got (for essentially nothing). Bettis from the Rams for 2 draft picks was a fleecing. THE greatest trade in the Steelers franchise history.
Wish he was still at that age and playing for Pittsburgh
Bettis wasn't even the "BUS" yet. i just called him a fire hydrant with legs...
Wheels on THE BUS go round and round....
🐐
Wheels on the Bus go round and round, and the Rams are under the bus!
Fb running wow Tomlin needs to take notes to help whoever starting this year
love it
The irony being bettis scored his first nfl td, against the steelers, when he was a ram. LA shutout pittsburgh 27-0 in that 1993 game
Wayyy better then tippie toe connor. The Bus was just perfect as a Steeler.
Back in the days of The Bitch when the lambs were playing out of St. Louis!
How come everyone looks so much bigger in the 90s
What do you think the Steelers record is going to be in 2021
I’ll go in hoping for 17-0. Realistically, I can see 12-5 or 11-6. I’m having a hard time gauging the extra game & it’s effects this year
Yeah the St. Louis Rams thought Jerome Bettis was a bust. But on that day he showed them the fatal mistake they made by letting him go.
Can you do one of najees games
Bus got dissed over Lawrence Phillips. Bus didn't "fit" into their new scheme. Thank you Rams for the gift of a lifetime. Bet you cussed yourselves on the daily for not sticking with him. I will always think of that time Brian Urlacher thought he was the best linebacker ever. Urlacher.....meet a Bus.
For the next person that watches this video of Jerome Bennett being the goat which is mean to Hall of Fame player the greatest overall time even better than Barry Sanders because his team couldn't win the ring because not strong enough defense if you had strong enough team defense then very servants were to get a ring see that's called talking a good one then you'll call out your own balance for finishing school and nobody gives a f*** how about that how about falling the serpent to see if he's going to get the cell on the Apple 🍎🍏
You keep saying shut the door but if you lock your door in the bathroom the police will pick it so what are you getting at you better not let them play you for your ring because you're you're telling to say f*** school I'm a champion
Nothing impressive about this. The rams were one of the worst teams in sports from 1990-98. I'm sure Bettis was happy just to get out of there and go to a contender. His dominant performance was not surprising against such a shitty team. It's like the Favre game after his father's death. I was happy for him but it wasn't impressive considering how bad the raiders were.
True. The rams were straight garbage. I was in college @ SIU at the time, so they were my local team. I think the yr before they started out like 4 or 5 and 0. To a disappointing 8 - 8 finish
@@atrain818 Thanks for your reply. It was 1995 the first year in St. Louis. They started 4-0 and finished 7-9. Unfortunately they didn't sniff .500 until Warner arrived in 99.
The bus run to the stars
I still have this gane on VHS on an old 8 hour BASF VHS tape.
Ppl ask why was Bettis so special. Just watch the first drive of this game. The defense knew Bettis was coming. They loaded the box and he still ran them over at will. Bettis was like an Offensive Lineman playing Running Back.
Teams knew they were in trouble when Bettis gets up shaking his head!
Get ready for Najee folks he is a true freak
I love it every time you post these videos bro I get so fired up especially especially my hero role model idol Jerome Bettis
🚌 was a MONSTER. Great guy too
