Fun fact, the RGB30 and RGB20SX both have perfect integer scaling for GBA as well. Granted it doesn’t fill the top and bottom of the screen but it is perfectly scaled. The V10’s only real advantage is that it’s more compact.
I personally think this V10 is a charm for all our old beloved 8, 16 and even some 32bits games. Everything that's based on sprites and can be played with only one directional input, doesn't mattering if originally thought to be a dpad or a stick, can be pretty fine ejoyed in this device. Also, being able to reach a native "3:2" aspect ratio means you can pixel perfect without much vertical or horizontal bars or, if not, stretch the image without much distortion. Not only GBA but any "10:9", "8:7", "4:3", "10:7", and even the wider"12:7" and "16:9" fit well at this aspect, so it would be the "one size to fit them all" if talking about something really portable!
I got an RG351P used only for 40$ to play only GBA on it, put ArkOS on it and it is Awesome. YES, it's an old device but to this day it's a solid option to play that system on it. And because of the sticks it's solid enough for arcade games and PS1. 😁
I've got one of these and love it so far. For GBA, you could also mention the Ayaneo Pocket Micro, which is a 3:2 screen with exactly 4x integer scaling and looks to be an extremely premium option. But it's also something like 8x the price of this.
Ooh Vlad! I was was nodding when you said that the Classic Gameboy was our first Handheld. But then I remembered the one blue handheld with white buttons that only could play Tetris. Idk if this was a balkan thing bc many couldn't afford the Gameboy when it came out. So we got this one. Gameboy was a dream. But this bluey tetris boy was actually my first handheld.
Actually the rgb30 has a perfect 3x integer scaling for the gba. Yes, it has huge black bars above and below, but it is integer scaling. Nice video as always, love your channel.
VLAD, here is an idea. You can do a video on the EMF radiation from these handhelds. I swear the radiation from Trimui Smart Pro (I suspect it's the battery and casing ) gives me headaches very quickly. EMF radiation can be measured with EMF reader.
I use PerfectGBA overlay on Miyoo Mini Plus and no matter how close I look I can't see uneven pixels behind the grid, so I believe that's good enough for me and for 90% of retrogamers. Also doctors say looking for uneven pixels is bad for your mental health you know 😅
Why are the bezzels so big? Easy, the handheld is almost like a horizontal handheld because of the screen. They had to make it wider to fit the screen and the controls. Or so I think it might be! :3
3:2 is very good for the most Systems. 4:3 = small bezels & 16:9 = small bezels. In my Dreamworld, the most Retrohandhald would have 3:2 ratio. Its fits the most. Still stretching a 3:2... Ok everybody have weaknesses 😂
I picked this up at launch, then bought another because for the price why wouldn’t I need 2. GBA is my favorite system to emulate other than a system that is not to be named
Vlad, streching?! noooooooooooo!!!! aspect ratio at least, integer scaling for perfection :((((( not stretching! the v10 is great, btw, it's a great GBA device :)
Ponies are smart, and you expect them to be able to learn more than one trick. So if a pony only knows one trick it is a disappointment. I think the phrase works because ponies are smart.
IMO, most 4:3 handhelds that also have a stick should do MAME quite well. These days for MAME, I'd probably go with something like the RG40XX H (but this is highly subjective on my part, I like them horizontal handhelds). 😅
I hated how GBA games looked on other handhelds. Integer scaling was whack or they had ugly black bars. Got this as a dedicated GBA device and love it. Rumble and wifi would be cool, but it's not a huge deal.
I wasn’t really into the emulator scene for a long time, but I eventually realized how inconvenient it was to carry around a Game Boy and all the cartridges. This is actually my first handheld emulator, and I wanted something primarily for playing GB, GBC, GBA, and PlayStation games, and it’s been perfect for that. Now I have every retro game I own in one device! And yeah, being a stickler for legality, I’ve only installed games that I own legitimate copies of.

The only deterrant is the button feelings for me or atleast how the buttons are described
Funny and informative review mister Vlad. Subbed 👍
It's not the only option for integral scaling for GBA, the RG351P/M is also a great option in the horizontal form factor!
You're absolutely right about the RG351p. Forgot about that one!
Somehow it’s 2yrs old and costs twice as much somehow.. well metal I guess. Probably comfort too.
You can just use border settings to get the good scalling on any of these retro consoles.
The RG351P. There was no RG331

Another Great Video By Vlad
V10 is a nice device with good build quality

I like the music you use : )
Everyone forgets the RG552. It's perfect for GBA and the price finally makes sense!
Vlad, those meme references are top notch! You need them
Tis quite the chunky boy
Keep up the great work, Vlad!
Will do, my guy! ❤
Great timing, because I can't sleep 😂
Almost 7am here as I released this. Birds of a feather. 😅
@VladNerd Yikes you get my pain lol
Yeah I got a refurbished gba. I do play it a lot. Maybe I shouldn't but I really enjoy it.

How are GBA shaders on this? I mean the lcd effect ones, and the colorizations too.
BTW the anbernic rg351p also has that native resolution.
The bezels actually dont bother me because I think they add to the nostalgia or the original GBA

Haven't picked this up yet. But I'm sure I will by the end of holidays
Just wanted to say that I absolutely love your YT handle. Made me chuckle.
@@VladNerd thank you 😆

Ordered my second v10 an hour before this video.
Jameson is a one trick pony, and it's the only trick they need! I have the V10 and I love the shorty.

the v10 is great for MAME , NES etc too. If you got better options then let me know.

Add more and just get the rg40xx line...bigger screen the better
