I am from Colombia. So sad to hear that Mcauley passed away. This sport event made me understand when i was 11 y.o the spirit of fighting in life. Thank you both for such a great combat and loyalty to your profession. A prayer for Mcauley and thanks again.

I still can't see why Bassa went down in the 3rd. My thought was maybe his leg buckled but I've watched it many times and it doesn't seem so until he's already headed down. Crazy that that was ruled a knockdown but the second one, where he obviously goes down from a left hook, was ruled no knockdown.
Dave stepped in with a headbutt (probably unintentionally) while throwing that wild overhand and while Bassa is pivoting, so it hit him on the side of the head and almost knocked him clean out.
I remember watching this on the BBC. Absolute classic. One of the best Flyweight fights ive ever seen.
This fight was 1987 not 1985.

He hasnt passed away.. He runs a hotel in Ireland. I know his cousin.
