I’ve had the Equinox 600 for 2 years and I mostly use the 6 inch coil which is incredible. The 8 inch coil is just as awesome on the vanquish. The 540 is a repackaged 600 but without some bells and whistles. It’s just as accurate and just as deep. You will not be disappointed with the 540 and either coil. 👍
Hi Big Dog - A very interesting video comparison of the Vanquish V8 and V12 coils, showing and explaining their different characteristics and performance for various hunting situations. Also as an admin of the Minelab Vanquish Users UK group, I would like to thank you for the shout out and description link which is very appreciated. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe.
I wonder how that 'nickel between iron' test would play out if you changed the Iron Bias setting to low, and maybe even turned the iron volume down a bit.
I have a new 540. It would be great to do the nickel/iron test as you said with the iron bias and swap to try in all three modes. I understand relic searches deepest but has a slower recovery rate and the coin and jewelry modes have faster recovery that may influence the identifying sound on the penny/iron or nickel iron. It would be nice to test the dirt box in all modes too.
Good Video... I know the different modes have different recovery speed. As per MineLab. I'll show ya the email they sent me.William, Thank you for your email. The frequency range for the Vanquish is the same as Equinox 5khz - 40khz. Vanquish will only run in multi, and as we do with the Equinox, we do not share what frequencies are being run when in multi. Equinox frequencies vary in multi, based on the mode. For Vanquish, the set of frequencies is the same in all modes, however the recovery speed changes. Coin mode recovery would equal 5 on Equinox, Jewelry would equal a 4, and relic and all metal equals a 2.
Please let me know if I can supply further information. Deb
Interesting, I'm getting a vanquish 540 coz it's unique high tech and good price. I'm mostly on the beach and parks so I'm gonna use the V8 bt a heavier coil wouldn't bother me so much, it wouldn't ruin my day lol
Havent used sml coil yet but thinking about it might try in my back yard but i am certainly loving my vanquish as opposed to my garett 400i on the beach mainly
Peace be upon you. I want to buy the original Vanquish 540 Minilab. Is it made in the USA, Malaysia, Taiwan or Australia 💯💯 Thank you, a follower from Morocco. Thank you.
Hi Mike, the sweet spot on these coils is not actually in the center. It is located under the logo sticker, just forward of the center of the coil. Did my best to make sure I passed the sweet spot over the target. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
I have conducted my own test and the v12 is better all around. I think your watch was causing interference for the most part. And your test was not like an actual hunt. But I did learn some things. And thanks for the work you put into the video.
Great Video . i bought the 540 pro pack and I love the 8" coil defiantly not trying to impress the ladies.. but let that V8 impress me. I use the V12 on the beach and The V8 in parks . I also have the Simplex and the 340 So i got all three Coils For the Vanquish Series ..thinking about getting the 440 just to have all 3 of them..lol
Thanks Dan. I use my coils the same way - 12” on the beach, 8” everywhere else. I have the 5x8 for my Simplex as well and really like that one too. Cheers.
Cracking video 🙌🤩 very helpful and useful information...... Thanks 😊...... just got my 540 ..... 👍🤩😊 not that big of a difference........ for me I do the beach so reckon the V8 is perfect as very trashy and lots rocks about ! Happy days 😊
Hey great videos as always. I have a vanquish 540. I use the V12 coil and I am thinking of buying a V10 coil. How would the V10 compare to the V8 please
martin wetherill I haven’t got my hands on the V10 yet unfortunately. I think it might be the Goldilocks coil for the Vanquish though. The perfect compromise between coverage, depth, and discrimination. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Big Dog , the V10 is the best size in my opinion. Perfect balance, deep , very precise pinpointing!!! I am selling my V8 and V12 ...... no need to have them !!
I haven’t been able to get my hands on the V10 unfortunately. My feeling is that the V10 may be the sweet spot coil for the Vanquish. The Goldilocks coil - just the right weight/size/depth/separation combo. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
The v12 is ugly and ridiculously heavy - alright if you like waving around a block of cement and your last name is Schwarzenegger. l hate it. l bought a 540 standard pack [no v8]. l got duped by the questions asked on amazon - some guy said you get a free v8 with it. Obviously, he meant the pro pack as l later discovered AFTER ORDERING. l had to pay an extra £100 pounds for a v8 because minelab won't give us a choice of coils. lt's laughable when they say the v8 is free with the pro pack - it's not free, your paying an extra £100 [there are wireless headphones, though]. So, great video for pointing out the differences in favour of the v8 [imo]. The depth of the v12 [1-2 inches on some things] doesn't make it a viable option.

The 540 needs to be offered with a V10 coil ..... it’s the best all around coil for me !!!!
That bares the question, can you buy a V10 coil for it?

Thanks I subscribed and sent my request to the group!
The Vanquish does have to be swung at a slower rate in certain modes as it has set recovery rates . You could see that when you slowed down .
Thanks Big Dog. Just what I needed to decide which coil to bring to Aruba and do some beach swinging.
Thanks for watching. Happy hunting. Cheers.
Excellent video. Great information 👍🏻👍🏻

Starts at 1:58.
During the depth comparison, the coil never seemed to be centered over the target tube. Wonder if this would have made a difference.

@@ohdannyboyjustadiggin Yes, the sp24. I like it a lot. Hope all is well Dan. Cheers.

Hello, the vanquish works the coil of the equinox?
No, they each have their own coils. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

@@anthonyperkins6364 the 440 comes with the V10 coil. Just bought it so I hope I haven't made a mistake not buying the 540!

@@anthonyperkins6364 Just add a bluetooth xmtr to the 440..works great for ~$15

where do I get the manual for my vanquish 540?
You can download it from the Minelab web site. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Can you review the V10?

Subbed 👍 ....... Happy Hunting 🙌😊🤩
Thanks!
Your wristwatch is too close to the coil while testing in the box of dirt.
Not so sure that big watch helped.
Lol. Well, I have found that it doesn’t hurt. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Too bad it wasn't a v10 with a v6 shooter
So in conclusion, mineralization of your soil plus the power lines equals a very inaccurate test

Make this video again and take your watch off

I wanted to watch to get the answer, but it was just too boring. Could you do a MUCH shorter video and just get to the answer?
