SailGP is high speed, high tech and high impact. This global sports championship combines cutting-edge tech, iconic global venues, elite athletes and record-breaking speeds to create the most exciting racing on water. Rival teams from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Spain battle it out at iconic venues around the world in short, intense races for a total prize pot of $7 million. Teams compete in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that fly above the water at electrifying speeds approaching 100 km/h. Fan-centric and close-to-shore, each SailGP Championship culminates in a $2 million, three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Well done chavales! Their performance is even more so incredible, considering they are the only ones which team members are 100% nationals from the flag they are sailing for 🇪🇸

I remember the first time I saw these amazing jobs was at Cowes. Funny a lot of folks thought they would not catch on. Their pitch-polling antics seemed uncontrollable. Well done Spain. Come this way again soon. S Almeria

@@user-vv4hg7me1q agree. They improved a lot with the change of skipper, Diego is bringing some good vibes and daring sailing, and the rest of the team are happy joining him. He’s probably still not on par with Slingsby and Burling yet, but they surely bring some good show to the races.

Well done, Spain! And without a single Ozzie on their boat, too!

These highlight videos do a terrible job of showing the context of the whole course. at the beginning of the race I have no idea where the boats need to go in order to win and when the finish comes up it's always a surprise.
