I really like how you encompass the true meaning of family. Your videos always make me smile and although I’m sure the boys can rascals at times they do seem very respectful and growing up to be real gentlemen!! What a better world this would be if more folks were able to do the same thing.
I wonder if this is the lake that Home Free Alaska went ice fishing on. They went one that didn't have fish in it. But they had a lot of fun and learned a lot about ice fishing.

A day full of fun! I really found it so sweet watching Weston in the background behind you giving it his all to skate like his big brothers. He will be keeping up with them in no time! I remember him last year trying again & again with his skiing with Mark and the older boys. As a kid growing up on the Cape we would skate on all the ponds around us but as climate change charges in we no longer skate but I have to say we did that skating in the 60’s. No you know m old. My mother in law used a kicksled to get around in the winter for quite a few years. She offered to buy one for me to use with my oldest daughter when she was little, but for reasons only known to my past self, I declined. Silly me. She has since passed, and her old kicksled was probably thrown out when her sons cleaned out the house. We might have to invest in a new one if we get a lot of snow this winter, as watching you made me remember how much fun they are and how useful they are when you just need to make a quick run to the store, or to get the kids to and from school/daycare when there's snow but you don't want to take the car.
What a different life your family live. It seems that the boys learn so many skills. Lauren it’s always great when you give some factual information about the the places you visit, thanks. What an absolute perfect place for all these winter activities!! Super job on the kick-sled Everett and Lauren you got a great workout pushing him around the lake!! I think the key to staying healthy (especially during the wintertime) is getting outdoors and enjoying nature. We had a small little ice rink in our backyard growing up and I spent hours outside! I broke my ankle and foot, three bones if I remember correctly, not on ice though. Mine was from a faulty porch step that came detached from porch, with me on it!!

I totally understand your apprehension about using ice skates. I have dislocated both my knees before at the same time, & I've broken an ankle, so I'm very careful. Plus I have really bad foit neuropathy that has robbed the feelings in my feet. Using a kidsled looks much safer to me.
Could you recommend a good kick sled? I really enjoyed watching your winter fun. We live on a snowy mtntop and also love ice skating in rinks and outside, as well as winter hiking. Kick sledding would be awesome fun on our local lakes. Thanks!

But I also love the sunshine, even 3 days of rain here and I get a bit depressed... but would love to visit a snowy location!! Such a beautiful family... the kids are so cute. It's Dec. 9 here, and will be 80 degrees later today. Unusual for us, I'd prefer a colder/normal winter (which for us would be highs in the 50's, lows around 25-30). Take care... and thanks for sharing Alaska with us! Also, I broke my ankle (compound fractures) years ago, so I totally understand what you are saying about your ankle! It was an awful experience, that's for sure. ☺️🍵☀️

No, there are lots of lakes. This is too far from their home. Ice fishing can be really tricky, even if there are fish!
