    Blue Angels release pilot
    Associated Press
    PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Blue Angels have released one of six air show pilots for undisclosed medical reasons, the Navy's precision flying team disclosed Friday.
    Marine Corps Maj. Daniel Shipley of Summit, N.J., flew the No. 3 jet on the leader's left wing. He is awaiting a new assignment.
    The team's next shows are today and Sunday at Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station, S.C.
    The team, based at Pensacola Naval Air Station, will continue with only five F/A-18 Hornets instead of the usual six until a replacement pilot can be found, said Petty Officer 2nd Class Saul McSween, a Blue Angels spokesman.
    McSween said the team may try to get a former Blue Angels pilot reassigned to take Shipley's place. The lone Marine on the team, he was in the first year of a two-year assignment.
    A 1992 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Shipley has more than 1,900 hours of flying time and 179 aircraft carrier landings

    Does anyone know How Long they can fly as a Blue Angel? Is it quick turn-over or a few years worth??

      Anthony Saponaro Awesome! Thanks! :) I'm sure that kind of G-Force & exertion etc is hard on the body if exposed for too many years.

      Roger that! Anthony is correct with 3-years (in some cases). 90% of the time you're done in 2-years.

      You said it. They employed the wrong production team somewhere along the road, and the ‘Discovery’ was gone.

    i wonder why they don't need g suits?

    • @WilderAudio
      @WilderAudio 9 лет назад +1

      Because when the g suits inflate, it bumps their hands.

      +Steve Haigh .... i agree.. how are they not passing out?? is it all circulation control and coughs/hiccups? I know the angels are tough sons of bitches, but that looks so extreme for a human body without external protection.
      2:06 - maybe it's the gum?

    • @ThePrissyMommyLife
      @ThePrissyMommyLife 8 лет назад

      +Wutang Clams I actually did think the gum helped in one way or another because they all seemed to be chewing - Probably like my mother always taught me to chew gum due take off & landing so that my ears wouldn't "pop". ??

    • @mcmjr405
      @mcmjr405 8 лет назад

      +Wutang Clams they don't pass out from the way they bear down, forcing the blood to stay in their upper bodies, sort of like a person straining if constipated..gross I know, the physiology is the same though.

      Has to do with the ability of the pilots to maneuver the jet, as the sticks are modified for aerobatics.

    Jesus broke the power of hell on the cross and was the only way to meet God. If you believe in Jesus, you will become a child of God and enjoy all the blessings of heaven. Believe in Jesus. He is God the Creator who will come back to earth with the power of heaven and earth.
