Don't you just love how the 90% of the people in an Apple Store are only there to play on the computers and iPads
Anthony Zastoupil 'cuz the're nut enough rich 2 buy 1.
Anthony Zastoupil yep and when your actually there about your Apple product a freakin lil kid is hovering over everything where you can't do shit. Smh 🤦🏼♂️ get on somewhere
Why else do they have apple stores then? You get hyped for the product and buy it from Walmart or Amazon.
If 1 out of 10 people that go there to play with computers and iPads then it's still worth it.
Anthony Zastoupil those are the peasants
*thank you for not filming in portrait mode*
Czek YES.
Czek First iPhone user not to make that fail ever.
i agree
You should look at my videos then. Most of them are taken with an iPhone and I ALWAYS film in landscape. It's common knowledge that video looks better in landscape but it may not be common to some people LOL
Czek the real mvp
I have considered doing this with my Mac Plus before.. looks like somebody beat me to it.
The 8-Bit Guy You should do it still
The 8-Bit Guy omg in this samll video
Do it!!!
I am a subscriber to your channel
me too lol
My 2008 Macbook is classed as vintage 😢
Martin Taylor I have one a MacBook 2008 as well, so I know the feeling especially as it was a graduation gift.
Martin Taylor lmao
My Windows xp is classed a vintage
I have a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro it’s soon to become vintage 😒
Martin Taylor I have a 2007 and it's my daily computer is not vintage
It is funny to think that an apple watch (as small as it is) is more powerful than that.
The comment isn't implying that the Macintosh is even a terrible computer. What are you all shaken up for?
codeHusky well that comment is spam useless comment
what?
and yours isn't.
no that's not very funny. technology advances very fast.
imagine walking in with a sticker from Apple and putting it on a Windows device and saying it was defective
perderdo I've got the balls to do that except I am in Spain
perderdo I kid you not, I actually own an original Macintosh nameplate
perderdo. Im soooo gonna do that brb
At one point, I actually wanted to go to an Apple store and asking for an S5. Or going to a Samsung store and asking for a 5S
😂😂😂😂
People seems so nice on this store. :o
They must be. Is part of the job. All that 'correct' and 'friendly' form.. you know.
I see. I had heard of this, but I never actually got to see it until now. There's no Apple Store near me.
Yah Apple Store staff are amazing!!
Hey ur australian nice
Top 7 Gaming Who me?
He edited this video on the macintosh
I might do this with my iphone 2g the first iPhone
The iPhone one was the first unless u live in the uk
ripnoobsgaming There was never an iPhone one. It started at iPhone 2g. Just because it has 2 in the name doesn't mean it's the 2nd iPhone ever made.
nguyen578 There was an iPhone one
It was just called iPhone but most people call it iPhone 2g
PolandGamerPL no, it was never sold to the public, it started as the "iPhone 2G"
Its prob the motherboard battery failing
Luis Perez it's called a CMOS battery
Tucker Orton thanks on the correction
the apple store guy actually told them this not very long before the recording got stopped (after "I'm probably the only guy here who knows this")
so they actually did get help with it. somehow.
I'm actually surprised anyone in that store knew about the battery 😂
Tucker Orton: I thought it was called a PRAM battery, or is that just another name for it?
The other Macs would be like, "Guys look, Grandpa's back from his long journey.
Everyone in that store looking like: "Why did you bring a mini fridge?"
I love how they actually took their problem seriously.
I'm actually impressed that they could find someone knowledgeable about this old Mac.
Old computers are simple to work on
That's an easy problem to fix! just open up the computer and replace the CMOS cell! It's a small flat button cell, about an inch in diameter
Rocky Balboa Actually as a vintage user myself anything older than the Intel Era (2006 to present) Doesn't use the typical flat button cell CMOS. It uses a more traditional AAA shaped battery that are actually pretty dificult to find.
Pendleton 115
It's actually a "523" size battery which has been out of production for many years.
YT user "bbishoppcm" did do a video called "battery information for compact Mac owners", at least I think that's what's it's called.
Kevin Bhasi if the 523 is a 4.5v tubular battery about 5cm in height then Amazon has them. I could be wrong but just trying to help out.
On the first 3 Macintosh computers, there was a battery compartment on the back side, easy to get to and replace.
www.batterybob.com/products/3975-exell-a21px/
Actually, I have a very similar model, this computer would have the PRAM battery soldered to the logic board. This can be replaced with a battery holder and install at 3.7v 1/2AA battery.
At exactly 2:18 the guy looks pissed off lol
JessiePVlogs i
He smiles and then looks like he wants to murder someone.
AbsurdTurd Gaming me too xD
He looked like he knew he was being recorded and wanted to scream, but knew he needed to keep his cool
Clorox Bleach I always see your comments
Around 2:18 with the guy looked away his smile went away right away and looked so annoyed. 😂😭
that cuz random gay dude who apple hires for good pr doesnt ACTUALLY know anything about computers hhahaha
@@KIIJJY6969 why do you have to say he's gay ? You really had to point that out
@@maziu27 cause people can say what they wanna say
2:17 how his face changes for a energetic tone to a “disgusting” tone
They say it cost $200 to fix lol
as soon as he walked in the store the beat dropped
CUT OUT THE TERRIBLE MUSIC PLEASE
Pbknowall Gaming "square"
Good point
Hey Kable10
damn can't hear anything :/
i'm from eu
Poor you
ボロ from EU
Tern thi valome up
lucky you, james blunt is a real person
John u cant spell for shit
2:16 hahaha that was a very quick shift from polite smile to straight-up annoyed eye roll
Why does every Apple Store look the same
Richard Viskadourakis signature look! 😍
apart from the Covent Garden one. and the Birmingham one. and the Grand Central one. and the Fifth Avenue one. and more but cab
i don't know of those places. i live in Australia
Richard Viskadourakis because they are all the same place. Location is simply an illusion
Richard Viskadourakis if you haven't already realized, that's the case for every franchise.
*carries 20 pound computer 500 feet* "oh my back is going to be sore tomorrow"
Paradoxical Nightmare Pounds and weight are basically the measure of the force of gravity pulling an object down. Mass is the measure of how much matter an object is made of. Mass is constant, while weight, and the 20 pound computer, will fluctuate based on the force of gravity. If you take it up to orbit, the mass is still the same, but it will weigh nothing.
I considered doing something similar: Bringing my compaq from 1995 to the microsoft store to see if they can fix it because it wont power on.
That, or a HP service centre. Yeah, sounds interesting even though I wouldn't dare to do it myself.
Of course, I would know what the issue is myself.
1. I don't think there's one near me
2. I don't really like hp nowadays.
Haha those "geniuses" really geeked out vintage 😂😂
This is a genius idea!
2:15 look at the change in his expression. Lmao. That's how you know he hates retail
I'm more impressed by the Apple staff then the prank wow I'm intimidated they kept there smiles on and stayed professional and very knowledgeable. I wanted to work at Apple but that is beyond me lol
a dead PRAM (CMOS in PCs) battery is a pretty simple thing really
Next time bring the Apple 2 to the Apple Store or the Microsoft store
Chris RMendoza I've been seeing a bunch of Microsoft stores in malls. Microsoft is trying to do what apple is doing
Why are they called geniuses? they work for apple sheesh
Alex Shi Steve Jobs idea
Alex Shi Hey anyone whos able to sell a product thats only worth 1/10 of its actual price is a genius in my books.
Never mind people are just fucking stupid...
Exactly, they're not all that bright. Most of them has never even seen such a classic in real life.
They know how to take your money :D
Their like the Starbucks of technology
0:55 the guy was holding the iPad upside down LMAO 😂
"Bring my old Macintosh"
Kid you weren't even born when that Macintosh was sold.
😂😂😂😂laughing at the campness of that assistant
"What's the problem sir?"
"Can't play Crysis at max settings"
I actually took my old iPhone 7 to the Apple store and all of the workers struggling to find the lightning port for my iPhone because everything just got replaced by USB-C 20 years ago and btw the new iPhone just got released yesterday and I cant afford one because its almost cost $2,000
harampug. took me a minute to get you're joke lol
harampug in 20 years 2,000 dollars will be cheap because of inflation you dumbass
Anthony Zastoupil currency won't inflate by 230% in twenty years DUMBASS and also it's still expensive for a 800 dollar phone and that's what he's getting at puto
Bicc OG if it's not expensive at all to drop 800 on a phone, then explain why cellular carriers offer monthly payment options. Houses and cars are the same so I'll take it 30,000 and anothe 400,000 isn't a lot and we're just broke? Gg
harampug well, due to inflation, that probably might be the *actual* price of iPhones in a few years.
"IT'S A TIME MACHINE... THIS MAN GOT A TIME MACHINE.."
In my point of view they are very nice people, in my local Apple store they are dicks and think they know it all when in reality they never helped me personally with my issues. I had to actually fix it my self with the help of RUclips
Same with mine
the look on that lady's face was priceless.
Sadly, if I was a "genius" at the Apple Store I could probably help him
Lewis Johnson but why would they be trained to fix a 20 year old device? That's just a waste of time and money .
Lewis Johnson they did help him though, did u even watch the video?
I would never get rid of it , it's so beautiful & tiny 💚
Is this at garden city Apple Store?
Chermside
I think I heard churnside but not sure because I live near churnside lol
"I don't like shopping at all"
That vintage Mac supports that statement.
haha thats soo cool they helped!
All dem Apple store workers getting excited when seeing the computer is so cute
OMGGGG I WENT TO CHERMSIDE SHOPPING CENTRE THE SAME DAY AS THIS WAS UPLOADED!
Stella Sparklez... What a coincidence. I don't know how you remember the date you went shopping ;)
Half of the people in the store: Why did that kid bring that Samsung in here?
Awesome vid bro! :)
I like how they were really professional about it and like they tried to help never broke "out of character" for work
This is the best thing that I came across in RUclips for a long time. Genuinely creative. Keep them coming mate :)👍🏻👍🏻
1:30 is me when the person sitting next to me in lecture pulls out a flip phone.
I THINK that first employee was a massive homosexual... I THINK.
MickyAvStickyHands soooo....
MickyAvStickyHands do you have a problem with homosexual people? (not saying in a triggered way)
Or are you just stating your opinion?
Idc what u reply
VCGames I do
MickyAvStickyHands you could smell the gay from a mile away.
Pray the gay away.
I love the way you're using I think, like no homo 😂
It's pretty cool that they actually took it pretty seriously and acted professional even though I'm sure they knew it was a joke
That’s the beauty of Apple. It’s as Steve would’ve wanted.
The x files music is a great touch
Had me dying!
This kid is perfect for this. The calmest demeanor ever. Just no fucks given... I'm just walking into the Apple store with this dafuq you looking at?
This is so great, i should do this with my Apple IIs. Do you actually need help with it? lol Just replace the battery in it if it didn't already explode. You'll need some soldering skills though and a long torque screw to open the thing up. Make sure to also unplug all the drives, powersupply and monitor from the pcb though before sliding it out. Tutorials on how to do this are on youtube. lol
That guy is the nicest employee ever!
How is this a prank? You can take any Apple device to any Apple Store, regardless of age, for repairs or advice. More importantly, how the hell did this crap get in my recommended list?!?!?
Look at all the sheep lined up for slaughter
Wait are you an Aussie?
You are bursting with confidence. Damn. You're a stud.
ugh what a horrible store, such fake people those 'geniuses'
They dont even know anything about computers. it's just a battery issue that literally is in every single pc or mac just to run the clock.
Dude, one of the employees knew exactly what the problem was......
Mister Motel he even told the kid it was a battery problem
I heard something about the battery a few times. It was said at least twice, maybe 3x that it was the battery. If a computer is vintage many Apple stores will recommend going to an authorized service center who will help you get parts & services. I think that's what the tech guy said (I refuse to call them geniuses).
If you had done more than see the title of the video, you'd know that someone pretty much immediately diagnosed the issue.
It took 3 of those people to fix a question my brother had with Imovie which he could have figured out him self xD
I half expected them to go "How.... how do you type an emoji on it.... I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!" and run screaming out of the store.
Noah your name is silly. "Weepers" ha
THEY HELPED HIM!?!? IM SHOOK. IM GUNNA TRY THIS WITH MY eMac.
Lol
I like how the Apple Store employees are going along with it 😂😂
I m sure they had a good giggle afterwards
Why are the Apple employees even praising him? He obviously look too young to have owned and experienced a Macintosh back when it was released. They should've known it was a prank.
lvlaple4Ever Just because someone's young they don't know how to use an old computer?
I have an apple iMac G3 and I never grew up during its time. I had it as a novelty and my school still had G3’s and G4’s until 2013
The store personals were really friendly. Great job Apple.
Apple will likely see what they made in 1984
If the Macintosh was actually broken the hard drive probably already died
I bet somebody just screamed "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BRING YOUR COMPUTER MONITOR IN"
look at the guys face when he looks away at 2:17 😂😂
I like how he said "my"
I can't believe they actually helped him with this.
I don't even think those tech people were born when that apple computer came out
can't believe he knew it was the clock battery, pretty neat!
That computer came out before you were even born kid
I've done this with my 1986 Capri to my local Ford dealer. They couldn't help due to not making parts anymore but the difference is mine was a genuine enquiry as it's my everyday car rather than a prank like this guy.
I loved the employee who looked at the customers with a fake big smile and then when he looked away he looked all boring😂
That’s how we are supposed to be at six flags also.
The worker was so considerate and kind! 😊
I thought the outcome of this video would be that no one in the whole store knew that it needed a new mother board battery. Still pretty funny nonetheless!
Most Apple computers older than 5 years are vintage but I love this one
that thing just LOOKS incredible though. like the spirit of 80s computing manifested.
That Mac is older than that kid that brought it into the store. And probably the kids working in the store, too.
At 1:32 that women was so shook she nearly fell back off her chair 😂😂
That guy talking about the battery was bang on... At least one "genius" knows something about computers.
half those guys working at Apple weren't even born when that computer came out... that was one of my first computers.
I have a Macintosh 575 (14" color CRT model) and as soon as people see that thing on my desk they say "you should take that to the Apple Store and see what they say" - the model I have does weigh 40lb though. Not sure if I want to carry it or worse, risk dropping it.
I was going to take my 128k in but seeing how the Apple store employees didn't know what the plus was, it's like 'genius'
Someone on craigslist in my area was selling a Macintosh Performa 6116CD...I thought about buying it, removing the PRAM battery and taking it into the Apple Store and telling them it won't boot. The Performa 6116CD will not boot up without the PRAM battery (well, there is a way to make it boot up, but it's not something most people would know about). Granted, the Performa 6116CD isn't as old as that computer in the video, but they were only asking $40 for it LOL
I Don't know if I should be happy or sad to be old enough to know that it's the CMOS battery, which all motherboards have unless they have changed things. You should be able to take out the batter shock is like a watch battery and often looks like a coin, and has a serial number on or near it. You can also Google the model of your computer followed by CMOS battery #to try and find which model # you need.
When the music goes over the voices
the apple guy seems really nice btw
I have a feeling the warranty ran out...
Sooo basically bringing a Macintosh to a Apple Store is like pulling up a Porsche dealership with a vintage Porsche tractor
"Hey apple. You missed me?"
That first employee just has a face that screams "punch me"
I would be so surprised to see a Macintosh right now...
The employees should be called "Apple Seeds" because they help the Apple tree GROW!!
