When I was in Chennai I had Panner 65 and as you told even I felt the same it was fried too much I didn't like the batter used for frying and I spoke to the waiter and he told me u buy anything in veg or non veg 65 the batter is gonna be the same. Then I decided I will never have it again 😅
"Pazham Pori" is a sweet banana fliters dipped in a batter made of Maida, rice powder,sugar and eating soda and water and deep fried and it's made with special Kerala Bananas called "Nendra Pazham". In Jigarthanda the scoop you see on it is actually made of Almond Gum or Gond Katira or Badam Pisin and it has a medicinal use it's used to cool our body temperature.

Am glad you pointed out the hygiene issue at Marina beach. The food stalls are genuinely over hyped there except few of them. Pazham Poli are Sweet n Long Ripe Banana fritters mainly type of a Kerala Banana ...also pronounced as Pallam Polli ,the ones which you had are Kaai Bhajji or Kaayi Bhajji of raw banana
