I like the Falcon Freedom 18. Nice layout and simplicity to add your own touches. Kind of mixed on the way the rod boxes open. I seem to be tall enough to reach into the coffin style without getting into the boat LOL. Seems like you would have to step off the front deck to pull rods out. The back hatch however is awesome the way it can open! Though, I would be more inclined to get if it could be optioned with a dual axle trailer and a 175hp (Phoenix) or a 200hp like (Triton) but of course that's going to change the price point significantly. Thanks for the video Brian!
I saltwater fish inshore and near shore along with trips to catch freshwater striper a few times a year. I purchased a new Carolina skiff DLX2180 in 2006 with a Suzuki 115 for $13,200. Installed a trolling motor, 7" Lowrance and a few years later a 9" Simrad and one power pole, fished out of that boat a lot for 13 years. Since 2019 I have been running 24' bay boats, expensive setups but it's just what I want. That being said, I don't catch any more fish from the expensive bay boat than I did the cheap skiff.
Cheaper than nitro, Ranger, triton and caymas not to mention much better quality only real competitor for quality, performance, and fit finish to this model falcon is bass cat bobcat and soon to be discontinued Sabre. I love falcon decided to bring this option to the market. For the majority of anglers whether they fish 2 times a year or every week this is more than enough to meet 95% of angler needs. unless you’re constantly in big water or fish professionally where sponsors/league require 250hp 20+ foot boats there’s not much of practical need for one other than a status symbol
Any boat is a compromise. I have always felt that the 18ft 150hp boats that were the standard tournament boat in the 80's and 90's were better more versatile fishing boats than the 21ft 250hp boats that are popular these days. I've been running various 18ft 150hp boats for the last 40 years and have no desire to run a bigger boat.
I’ve had a couple 20 & 21 footers. They are great for rough water. I’d much rather fish from a stable 18’ class boat with a 150-175 though. I hate fishing out of the bigger boats. I have an 18 footer now, and I love it. If I buy another, it’ll be something in the 18’ class for sure.
Dude 41k for a boat is also insane. There are so many people out there that cant afford a $30k boat. When people have mortgages kids and all life expenses theres no room for these insane boat prices. EVERYTHING is now priced for only the ultra wealthy people in our country

To be honest boat prices will not be coming down anytime soon. Looking at this boat right off the factory floor, it has everyone elses 18ft glass boats beat hands down when comparing specs. Look at all the storage, look at the access to the batteries and pumps and all the space. How many people fish lakes that require a 70+ mph boat. The boat shown spece'd out at just under 54k rigged is quite a deal. Yes many people buy a older boat and re hab them, in all reality when complete you still have a old boat and motor with backyard workmanship and no warranty. My 2020 F-150 2.7 would pull that rig with ease.
I did a entire performance review live stream. Here it issufschool.com/programs/falcon-freedom-18-raw-e77989 it needs a little tweaking to really get the full capacity
SMH The man comes on here and makes a video with a "lower price option" over the 21 foot boats with 300hp motors and all ya want to do is slam him. Everything he presented is true. You don't need a 21ft boat. You don't need a 300hp motor or 2 power poles or 12 inch graphs. The 40 grand boat today is the 15 grand boat from the early 2000. Prices of everything has gone through the roof and heck no, I'm not gonna buy a $40,000 boat much less a $120,000 boat. 41k is roughly $500ish a month payments, around 9% interest and 10 years! That's a lot ot money. These boat prices need to drop and rates. No middle class family can afford them. It's ridiculous
Well the cost is the cost. The solution is to find a boat that fits the budget of the “middle class” angler. There’s way too many options available. Perhaps if 500$ a month is too much a new boat isn’t in the realm of possibility for the angler at the moment.
I love the vision Falcon had but I still can’t justify it. $42k is a great price but not for the options it comes with. An edge trolling motor and 5” graph is laughable as far as new boat technology. If a boat manufacturer can come out with an 18’ boat under $45k with an ultrex, a 9+ inch graph for the console and bow, and FFS or 360… then I’ll be all on board. Inflation is killing the fishing industry.
Isn’t wild that we as anglers usually complain about prices while demanding the latest and cutting edge technology 😂? I think about this all the time. Everything we want exist already. There’s all kinds of deals like that out here that you can find with some patience
If you have basic skills of using tools. Just fix up an old semi v. I sold my bass boat and fixed an old crestliner , fished all weekend on 10$ of gas. My truck doesn’t know it’s back there.
Sounds like the 195 is the boat you’re looking for. Exact same layout and a foot longer
I love inshore saltwater!!!
Going to have to take a look at this boat! Great option, no doubt.

Editing one right now actually!
I think people will be surprised how much they like this boat
Most importantly other then motor would be a good trolling motor🤔 with more thrust then recommend 🤓.

I’ve never seen a recession in prices of anything new in 41 years 😂. There’s a boat for everyone!

I'll just keep fishing from my 17.5ft 1989 Ranger with the 150hp Merc. and love every minute of it. For a good part of the market, this will be a very good option. Thanks BLat

If you truly want to use that boat for tournament fishing you definitely need a tandem axle trailer.
Can you give me more context? What’s the difference between fishing and tournament fishing in your opinion
@@BrianLatimerFishing tournament fishing you'll likely be traveling East Coast to West Coast. Fishing in general you'll probably travel a few hours from home. A tandem trailer is just more safe. I've seen blow outs on single axle trailers and most of the time that person loses what's on the trailer. Doesn't happen on a tandem trailer.
@@bkbaitsal4389 ok! I certainly never traveled to the west coast when I was fishing local tournaments. I didn’t know that was going down! In that case I would suggest something else.

Awesome! Glad you’re getting out having fun doing what you love.
They have to get more affordable or they are going out of business.
Actually they would have to increase in price or they might go out of business
For some reason we just feel entitled to have it given to us at the price we feel is fair with no experience or knowledge in boat building. 🤦🏾♂️ we the anglers should start a boat company!!!!
