Its a review on CP SPORT, not CP Light or CP 9H. The video name ''Ceramic Pro 1 Year Coating Review '' may confuse people. Kindly change it to '' Ceramic Pro SPORT 1 Year Coating Review'' Respectfully, Ceramic Pro
The respray was pretty damn cheap from what the seller told me, but the "snake skin" only became visible after Ceramic Pro was applied. I totally agree my wash technique is horrible! That's the point of this video. The Ceramic Pro ads make it seem as if you could just hose away your dirt or never wash your car, so I put minimal effort in to show that is not the case. Yes it's easier to clean, but nowhere near the ads.
Should I Get It clearly the guys there didn't educate you or you didn't care to educate yourself on the products. The products showcased in their AD's are ceramic pro 9h with ceramic pro light as a top coat. Sport shouldn't be as hard and slick as those other coatings. Also those products you're using deteriorate the sport coating itself. The shop should've given you recommended products to clean the car with such as Optimum No Rinse. So I fault your experience as the lack of education from the installers themselves and improper cleaning techniques that you did
So I just got my car coated at Kryptic WRX in north Georgia. I got the silver package. Man i agree with the wet look it is rediculous how deep the paint looks. My package came with ceramic pro 9h and ceramic pro LIGHT application. As Well with my windows being treated and warrant for 5 years!!! I detail cars on the side so I am familiar with consumer level ceramic products. Ceramic Pro is hands down the best ceramic product I have ever seen. I am waiting 2 weeks before washing with car with Americana car soap which is formulated for ceramic surfaces. But I have sprayed some water on it to see how the coatings is holding up, water does not like to sit on the car lol
try R1 pros ceramics 100x better bit expensive for 1 bottle and it only does 3 cars/ 2 suvs but let me tell you it is def not hazy like this coating also where and the hell are u getting ceramic coatings in a SILVER PACKAGE lmfao i dont wanna rain on your parade but ceramic coatings are 1k+ jobs and need a bunch of paint correction before ceramic thats full plat package not including ceramic.
Spending 1 1/2 hours total on a ceramic coating means you have a crappy shop and should find another. Mine is currently in getting what is called the silver now. Its got about 15hours on it so far as just them polishing (brand new 2018 Subaru) was around 8-9 hours to get it perfect.
+Edward Sessum please understand the Sport coating which is what I got is a 1 year coating of just the top “light layer”. This is NOT a package with 9H or paint correction. Dynamic’s other packages all take 8+ hours and include paint correction as I mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching.
+Edward Sessum it’s the same coating they put on top of 9H. Most dealers do a sealant that lasts about 6 months if that. More info: ceramic-pro.com/en/shop/product-line/product/sport/
Dirt repulsion: Ceramic Pro is Self cleaning, meaning the super aggressive water beading will capture loose dirt (that the coating won't allow to stick unlike wax) and pull it off of the car. Using a waterless wash you won't really see these effects but if you run a hose over a dirty car 98% of the dirt will easily rinse away without any rubbing, I love this feature for the self carwash it takes 10 minutes to wash my car and it looks better than if I had spent $300 detailing it. Streaks may be happening due to your choice of products, wiping water off doesn't have the same issue. Also Ceramic Pro Sport is the thinnest coating and sometimes repainted cars have softer more porous paint that will over absorb a single layer of coating so ultimate performance will be best on a hard factory clear coat. Overall fair review but a few concepts that may have been better understood would have raised your rating.
1: I know I have a horrible paint job on this car, I got the coating done on this car and not my new Mini Cooper S to see if the Ceramic Coat would make it look any better. 2: I know I have Orange peel, it's bad. 3: I washed it terribly ON PURPOSE, the whole point of this video demonstration is to show that yes the coating makes it easier to wash your car BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO WASH YOUR CAR, some of the ads from CP make it seem like your car just stays clean forever which isn't the case, it's physically impossible. 4: I spent time on filming / editing this review to give a very different perspective than that shown in other videos and I never ever said that this is 9H which is the coating most people get.
I feel bad that it seems like the scum of the earth have come out of hiding to post mean comments on your vid. I appreciated your experiment. I'm thinking about getting the 9h on my 180sx. Anyway thanks.
@@Brotomotiv sanding is only required if you have really big scratches that the rotary/DA polisher won't remove. And that removes ton of clear coat. That's the last resort for paint correction. Anything deeper than that requires paint touch up.
@@Brotomotiv damn bro, relax lol. Too strong. I guess there is a misunderstanding here. I was only saying that regarding scratches and marks. Freshly painted...it might be a good idea to sand and polish to get that mirror glossy look because yea the fresh clear coat will be a bit uneven with some grooves showing, depends on how skilled the painter is. Or a show car, in your case here. But for a daily avg driver...sanding might be a bit too far if they only want it to look clean. If you literally love to keep the car clean and that mirror look...sanding then polishing is a good way for it. I just thought it might remove a lot of clear coat because I've only seen a video or two showing how much it removes the clear coat. Haven't done or seen someone actually do it in person. So i guess i was wrong there:) Each procedure appeals to diff people.
Do you realize that drive through car washes scratch your car like crazy? Trucks and vans and other things go through there that have dirt and mud that gets caked on the brushes, then the brushes rub that dirt and mud on your car :/ The only drive through car wash you should go through is a touchless which should be okay for the miata softop. If DD is a good detail shop, you can ask them about taking it to a car wash, and they should describe it as a torture chamber for a car.
They have described it as a torture chamber and I'm aware of that. My Mini Cooper S is a lease so I still care just not as much and the Miata has always been a ritual to hand wash ever since I got my first Miata 3 years ago. It's similar with the coin-op washes as well, crap from other peoples cars are in the brushes there too.
"go through is a touchless which should be okay for the miata softop" DITTO- Been doing that with my 05' Miata for yrs.. ! I just Use a Speical Brush to spray and Scrub the Wheels pprior to driving it thru the touchless Water Only( No Soap) spray. Also I have 3 coats of Clear Coat on my Paint Job.. I replaced my Soft Top with a HD Soft top 3 yrs ago.. I also Liquid Spray Wax the Glass and don't bother wiping it off.. and use your Armor-all on your Wiper Blades to help them last longer..2x a yr. And FYI- If live with 50 miles of a City? Your going ot have Air Pollution ( Dust) on the car every Morning..I will Use my Water Softened Water on my Car to rinse it off at home using my Wide Spary setting on the Nozzel..and No Water Spots and don't have to shaomi it down either ! hope that helps!
First the car itself is already dead on the poor quality paint job spray and your wash technique is wrong. My friends truck did the coating on his F150 and only need to wash like once per month unless he goes off roading. The stains easily wash itself with water
after clay bar you are supposed to compound and polish the car then wipe it clean with isopropyl alchohol to remove any residue left by the polish. then you apply the ceramic coating, then you add silica spray and your car should remain dry for atleast 12 hours for everthing to set. then after that you need to use shampoo's etc that are ceramic coating friendly whenever you clean your car.
There's nothing that says it will prevent your car from getting dirty. Ceramic pro sport is the entry level application and will not give the protection of a silver or gold package. The sport package will wear off unlike the silver or gold packages.
FYI if no one mentioned those quick spray washes are not the proper PH level for washing the car with the ceramic coating and the rag essentially becomes a like fine sand paper when you dont rinse it properly , most pro detailers with use a special bucket for that .
Just to share my experience as well. I've had my 435i coated by a professional authorized Ceramic Pro detailer. It cost around $1300 with a 10 year warranty. After 1 year+, I can guarantee you that the hydrophobic properties has greatly reduced over time. Even a minor rain is sufficient to leave watermarks on certain areas of the car particularly the roof and other flat surfaces. Yes, it is easier to clean and wax/polish is not required anymore. Unfortunately, minor scratches and even rock chips CANNOT be removed or touched up unless the car is sanded down to remove the layers of coating. The end result is a car which appears highly glossy with minor scratches all around the car.
You still have to do washes(the correct way)to maintain the coating, you cant let it sit for 3+ months in the sun letting it get dirty and not expect it to wear prematurely!
And you should NEVER go thru a drive thru after getting the Ceramic Pro? Ever EVER? I've been checking reviews. Just bought a new truck & want it to shine not "spot up"
IYes, car got dirty, black especiall shows dirty. have a new Honda Ridgeline Black with 9H Ceramic Pro coating. The first wash I did was with a good car soap, microfibers towels, and a spray wand. Will try a foam soap application next. Thanks for your review, it raised my awareness of how I'm going to have to take care of the finish. We'll see at the one year check up.
Just had this done. A 3 week "seasoning process". I'm used to washing my truck every weekend & it's DUSTY as hell right now! WHAT do I do? And, can I still use RainX on the front windshield?
Wash, Clay Bar, and then apply Ceramic Pro. For the 9H Ceramic Pro applications, they do full paint correction but the price just can't be justified on a $3,000 Miata.
Should I Get It well there you see the level of skill.. As a detailer you never ever use a claybar without polishing after.. Clay causes marring and small scratches. This would prevent any coat from sticking properly.
scratches do not prevent coatings from sticking properly, oils and dirt prevent it from sticking, i actually clayed and applied a ceramic coating today to a brand new audi r8, if you use a light clay bar and a good lubricant you will not cause marring and scratches, with a heavier clay you will. but the coating will still adhere properly
Glenn-André Risvold the product used wasn't what should have been used. It is a product used to maintain 9h and light. You absolutely can clay after a polish or before. Only improper usage of clay causes scratches. The vehicle needs to be decontaminated fully before any ceramic pro application. This is usually done with a prep solvent.
at 2:10 you have to notice tho how shiny it still is with all the grime on it. the gloss pops through

Ceramic coating done in 1.5 hour? :) My car is getting it right now and this what they are doing (shortened): 1. Prewash to remove rough dirt 2. active foam for remaining impurities 3. pH neutral 2 bucket wash 4. claying paint and windows 5. active foam after claying 6. drying 7. 2 level polishing 8. degreasing 9. gyeon primer 10. gyeon q2 mosh (2 layers) And it will all take 4 to 5 days. So if they done it in 1.5 hour, I dont think they did it right.. so i hope at least, that they didnt take too much money for that.
Dude you got the cheapo option! Our sports package version in NZ only gets a 3 month warranty. Get the triple diamond one then wait a year then report back to us ;)
These ceramic coatings are very interesting. I'll be coating my rims myself with Gyeon Rim. By the way, the paint on your passenger door has a lot of orange peel (3:50) :(
I mean it seems kind of weird to give it 3.5 stars out of 5 when the one category that is pulling the score down is sort of a common sense thing. Obviously cars will still get dirty, that's not really what this product should be seen as. I think of it as a clear shell protecting the paint underneath. Based on the first 3 categories the rating should be more like 4.25/5. Regardless of what any ads might say, anyone who would think that the car would just repel dirty clearly doesn't understand reality :P Thanks for the video though, I am looking at getting both a PPF film on the front end of the car and then a ceramic coating over the entire vehicle, so it's nice to see some more information.
Its amazing how ive seen time and time again a big horde of CP installers rise up inflamed every time someone says that they dont like ceramic pro (user error! your technique sucks! Whos that installer, all other are great, etc). I wonder if the product is really that weak as to need so much commitment in its defense. Thanks for sharing your experience with it
As well the coating needs a good decontamination every 3 to 6 months and if this is done, you will be amazed at how easily rinsed it will be. Buy some iron x and a clay bar kit.
it takes 2 to 3 weeks to cure and they tell you when picking it up that water spots will do that during the cure period. They go out of their way to warn you to avoid that for at least 2 2 weeks. I actually just got my truck done, and plan to get up every morning to wipe morning dew off of it and I've already shut the sprinklers off near the driveway so that I don't have that issue. Once it is actually cured, water spots won't do that.
My opinions on this are the expectations and the understanding of what you've gotten are very ambitious; Equally as others have said your washing methods/techniques need to be in-line with a ceramic coating to keep it topped up and performing at it's best. From what i understand Ceramic Pro Sport is really a maintenance top-up for a full 9H Ceramic application and is designed to restore the 9H coating.. The CP Sport is just a synthetic paint sealant of sort really. - very unfair to judge it and advertize this as a ceramic coating really. As others have said whoever painted this car did a real real bad job unfortunately, the car should have been corrected before any thought on ceramic coatings, then it will look 'new', but with orange peel as bad as that, it would probably cost the same as a re-spray anyway.
That it is! Thank you for catching that and letting me know. I'll be sure to use it properly next time. Anyways...hope you subscribed! (Just kidding about the "S" at the end of that :)
What's the point of getting a 1 year ceramic coating? Shame for the guys who did your car and call themsleves "detailers" just a quick cheap work With a horrible result the orange peel at 2:57 🤢 When you put a ceramic coating you have to get a full detail wash/clay/polish/(sand polish in your case.) Apply the ceramic coating and let it cure for 12/24h in a clean close area and that even on a brand new car. Never on a wash car quickly clay,it will only highlight the defects.
My gripe with ceramic pro is not that my truck still gets dirty, I expected it, but it doesn’t clean off like I thought it would. After my first wash it looked amazing, but not like it did when I picked it up. And I spent an hour or more cleaning it off which probably shouldn’t take that long. I went over many times and it looked great. But now, idk if the light layers are wearing off but it doesn’t clean off as easy. I see the dirt on it, spray it and see a thick layer of dirt come off but there is still small residue of dirt left that needs to come off when drying. I was told it would just all spray off and then I dry it for it to be clean. The advertising is deceiving. When I get it inspected since I got the gold package, I’m going to get more light layers put on, more than when it was first done and see how that goes. If I’m disappointed again I’ll just stick to spray waxing when drying my truck. It’s a large vehicle so I wanted it to clean off with little effort, like I was told. I’ve had a hunch that my detailer screwed me over. We agreed on a price, I gave him money up front for all the materials and such, then when I drop it off the dude tries to add $800 to the price when we already agreed and shook on a price. So I’m thinking wtf man. He was so sure and trying so hard to convince me that the price we agreed wasn’t final. I told him that if it’s done right and looks as good as I was hoping he’ll get that extra money. Well I go to get it, it looks amazing. But it took 2 week longer than he said so that right there prevented me from paying more. Then he said his helper was the one who forgot to clean the jam of the tailgate, but it was supposed to be coated, so he had not intentions on coating that. Then the jam of the hood was the same. Dirty af and not coated. So I’m thinking, did he even do what I wanted? Did he play on my ignorance of how this coating and shit works? I wanted 5 layers of 9h, and 3 of light. On everything. Then he was saying he’d to 11 in total saying he wanted to help me out. I told him no but he insisted. That’s probably why he wanted more money. Fuck that dude, just give me what I want for the price agreed and do it right. So I still think he half assed that shit, did less than what I wanted. I’ll never know and I don’t want to go back. I’m taking it somewhere else and if they find out something I’m going to him. He’s just a sketchy character and I should’ve just went with the full detail, no coating. Live n learn.
Damn quite the story, sorry you had that experience with your detailer. Hope the extra layers of light help you out! As mentioned in this video I only had light coating (no 9H) so I’m surprised the gold package is so similar. I’d expect exactly what you did, ease of cleaning
As with all things, preparation is key so the paint should be corrected before application of a 9H coating (my coating is NOT 9H). It would be the same process shown in this video if I wanted to get another coating of the same Sport coat done 12 months after I got mine.
great and informative video. i'm new to ceramic coatings and i learned a lot from this video. however, i'm a bit confused... did you really think that this ceramic coating would "repel dirt" and prevent your car from getting dirty? cmon man... another thing i'm confused on... does the 9H requires yearly reapplication with the "sport package"? why not the other ones like 5H and 7H? and so you were able to get just the "sport package" coating and still got it to last 1 year? wow anyway thanks for this informative video.
First off, thank you for watching. No, I knew it wouldn't "repel dirt" but that's what the Ceramic Pro ads show and I made this video to explain that is physically impossible. ALL CERAMIC PRO DOES IS MAKE IT EASIER TO CLEAN. The 9H packages do require a yearly "maintenance" which I believe is a thorough wash and re-application of the top "light" layer. I'm not sure about the 5H or 7H coatings. I've had it for 6 months now and it is supposed to last one year. Again, I got the 1-year coating just to test it out and make this video. It makes my car look "wet" when it's clean, and makes it easier/quicker to clean.
I live in Texas and recently it’s been raining a shit ton and randomly throughout the day and night, does this mean I should stay away given the water spot situation?
I agree with many of the people here. I have ceramic coated many cars, and only those cars that have an oem quality paint will shed water and dirt properly. Having so much orange peel in the paint will act like a sponge for dirt, regardless, because it has "craters" that dirt will naturally stick to. If, as you said, the "snake skin" look appeared after the detailers applied the coating, it is likely they let it cure for too long before wiping the excess off. An intrinsic characteristic of any ceramic coating is that it becomes very tacky towards the end of its application process. Properly applying ceramic coating is an art in and off itself. I was also disappointed to see that the detailers "buffed" the sprinkler waterspots off. If the coating was properly installed, the hard metals/minerals in the water should have chemically cleaned off. Again, I attribute this to the failure of the detailer to properly install the coating and his inability to properly educate you on proper washing techniques!
Your car looks good after you get Ceramic Pro installed is because they detail the paint, clay bar, polished etc,, not because of the Ceramic Pro. Just wondering, how much did it cost for the Ceramic Pro Sport Package? thx
with ceramic coatings they are ment to be washed once a week and if you invest in a pressure washer and foam cannon then you barley need to even touch it and can do quick 10 minute touchless wash/rinses.
PLEASE NOTE: Ceramic Pro Sport does not have the permanent-bond 9H compound found in the Silver and Gold packages. That compound provides the scratch protection and other “super” properties typically associated with ceramic coating. The Sport package shown in the video is essentially glorified hydrophobic coating
My Miata( 03') is Black with Saddle Tan Interior and Black Top.. Ceramic Coating is nothing more ( or less) than just a HD Wax Job of Clear Coat.. And lasts over 3 yrs now up here in Wi.. and Just use the Local Touchless Spray Washing on Rinse Mode( Don't use Their Harsh Soap)
So, you just got the hydrophobic package.... And that spray you use has some sort of wax to prevent scratching which is where you're getting the streaks . I love videos like this but there needs to be a better control and variable .
I don't know the exact science but it seems like it breaks down naturally after the time period suggested and then you can apply a new coating. The detailers will know if your coat is gone and the car is ready for a new one.
Many of them can not take off with chemicals becouse ceramic bonts over the clear coat and makes a layer from 7 to 9 h hardness in mohs scale that means 3 to 4 times harder than varnish so after 2, or 3 years many most of them must sand to take off, imagine when you aply a simple chap wax in your car after 6 months must clean all car with glay bar to aply new wax becouse must remove all the old wax, now imagine ceramic coat you can not take off that easy.
Yes I am aware of that, I’m not saying your detailer can take it off, because they cannot. But they can check to see if your coding is fully off after the time. It was suggested to last
Not protecting the paint using the cheap microfiber rag. Fold the rag and after each swipe, flip to clean side. As well I recommend using rinseless wash technique instead if scratching is a concern. If cost is a concern Optimum No Rinse is very economical.
Just curious. How much it cost for the 1 top coat. Im asking because we are becoming a Ceramic Pro installer and i do have some concerns with pricing. Second. In our training for Ceramic Pro it takes much much longer than an hour to install the top coat and paint correction is always recomended. The paint correction along with 6 coats of 9H plus the top coat DOES in fact make mud and dirt slide right off the car as shown in the promo videos. It does cost about 1600 bucks for this package but it does work and makes cleaning easy with a hose and towel. From my understanding if only the top coat lite is applied it still takes a few hours to cure. Im wondering if DD followed the correct procedure. In my opinion had it been applied over a bit more time with propper dry time it would be even easier to clean and look better.
I think it's sad that that snake-skin texture" you refer to has been synonymous with new paint. Orange peel is something to be ashamed of, not proud of. If ceramic pro left my paint looking like yours does in this video, id never install it. People pay to have orange peel removed, not installed.
He didn't get the orange peel effect from the ceramic coating lol it was part of the paint to begin with and he just never got it corrected. When you get the better packages they correct that before applying the coating.
Wait. Did you get Ceramic Pro or their "Sport" product? The Sport product is like a booster used ontop of Ceramic Pro. It has is a 3-4 month topper product.
Yeah, it's not really a ceramic coating. It's a silica based topper which you can use on a non-coated car to give 3-4 months of protection. Ceramic Pro 9h is the actual ceramic coating that has any sort of actual guarantee.
Paint correction would have probably done more for your car. Once all the swirl marks are removed and the car polished up, it looks shiny and very reflective even without wax. And wax will stay on for longer on a properly paint corrected car, because the surface will be smoother, so it can bond better, and also because of the smoother surface dust and dirt will have a harder time to get stuck on it and build up visible deposits.
Ceramic pro sport only promises up to 2 months protection, not 1 year. It's a sealant you're supposed to apply yourself after washes, not get applied at a shop. It is not a full ceramic coat. You should remove 'the truth' from your title.
opti no rinse is what you should be using for washing bud. That armor all prob damaged your coating hence why the water spots showed you because to get a full cure it should sit 24 hours and then it takes 14 days to fully cure. So in those 14 days you shouldn't let anything stay dry on it. If you have coating down again i would really consider getting some advice on proper washing with coatings i am suprised they didnt tell you anything when you left after having your car done
U can order ceramic pro sport for 69 $apply every three months it don’t. Last a year it’s not a coating but prettt close I use to use it as a drying agent and went through the bottle soo fast I will put less and only apply every three months but I will clay and polish before I put it on it works better and bonds better on dry surface
This is a perfect example of two things...1....an uneducated customer of ceramic coating ! 2....a shady detailing company who didn't educate the customer and were not truefull with their customer!!...this car owner clearly doesn't understand proper paint care nor proper ceramic coating maintance!!...also in my opinion it was kinda a waste to apply a coating to the horrible paint job !..the owner should of atleast had the paint corrected first!...the detail shop when they polished the hard water spots off more than likely removed or atleast did damage to the coating that obviously also didn't tell the car owner what the results would be by polishing the coating!!..I believe they where less than honest because they were only interested in making a buck by installing a coating and that's it!...these cheesy detailers are one of many reasons coatings are getting a bad name!!...but the ultimate responsibility is with this car owner that obviously even though he doled out some bucks to get a coating doesn't seem to have enough correct knowledge on how to care for his paint!..I don't understand people investing that kind of money ,giving the impression they care about there paint but don't take the time and energy to properly take care of their car!!...just baffling!! ..
Why you buff the waterspots? With buffing that limescale acts like sandpaper to the clear coat and a lot of thickness is buffed away. You could just use vinegar dampened cloth and wipe them off. Or it was baked into the ceramic coating? Than the coat is crap. Regular paint (on a 2004 car) never give problems with waterspots - they can always be wiped with vinegar dampeden cloth. Again, why bother with that coats at all. I have 2004 car sitting on the sun all the time and the only parts that faded are black plastic, not the paint itself.
First off, the reason why you got the hard water spots on your car and couldn't get them out was because you didn't let the coating cure for 1 week before letting water touch the surface. Your circumstance,, even though not your fault, was due to water getting on your coating. 2ndly, I have a friend who went and got the full package, the whole 9 yards (4 layer 9H, the works) done on his brand new mustang and it still got a chip on the door and he paid, here in the bay area, $2,600 for everything. I almost got that done to my benz, because I thought the clear coating was suppose to protect against chips and scratches as advertised on the ceramic pro website videos, but luckily I seen the lies first hand before dealing out over $2,000 for nothing. Then I found out, later, that supposibly if you get the clear bra AND the clear coating, then you'll have the chip and scratch protection, but I'm skeptical about that. It seems like all these talks about how to protect your car are all nothing but scams.. I think I'll still stick to good old proven time aged fashion waxing. seems like it's not worth the money for all that other stuff. I may still get the clear bra, though... anyone have thoughts on clear bra?
well.... honestly you guys are looking to deep into it.. light scratches and swirls will still appear.. rock chips you can't defend against. the only difference is, the 9H takes the beating not your actual clear coat. so it's doing what it is suppose to do. you can't defend against actual damage, if rock chips are a problem for you, then a clear bra and coating is the better option as clear bras are super thick compared to 4 layers of 9h. that's all it is, ceramic coating is a LAYER to protect your clear coat, anything that happens to it, is just on the coating it self and not your actual clear coat.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video, unfortunately, in my opinion, there is just so much wrong with your review. Where do I begin. I'm interested in the Ceramic product and hoped to gain some good information from your review, but buddy, I gotta say, you did such a disservice with this review. First, the paint job you had done is horrible. Orange peel finish is a sign of a job poorly done. Second, water-less wash is never a good idea let alone using an AmorAll product. Third, I appreciate you letting us know you only went the sport coverage but you can't honestly rate the low end product and expect the top end results. Again, I'm not here to bash anyone's efforts on providing a video review. I use them a lot and appreciate every single one I watch and use for my gain and personal benefit. Good luck.
Hi Jose, thanks for taking the time to write out a detailed and well-thought through comment. I do actually appreciate it. As for the things you noted.
Dude it’d take a whole video to answer that in full detail but the short answer is amazing SPG in both cars. Smiles Per Gallon. Watch my Mini Cooper S riders reaction video.
Surprised by streaks left behind by waterless wash. Also water spots should be removable by simply wiping off for any ceramic coat. If birdpoop doesn't etch the paint, why doesn't water spots go away. Looks like cp sport is a glorified paint sealant.
Definitely made I️t easier to clean even with a sport package and I’m not reviewing 9H in this video. Hence having “Sport” in the title and description. Thank you for watching
Kind of confusing video! You said in the beginning CP Sport was used then in the end you said CP Light was used! 2 completely different products that do different things!
This is not a coating that is our professional grade sealant . Our coatings perform just as advertised if done properly some people who experience the bad obviously got someone who does not how to properly prep and/or coat the vehicle. Sport is not the same as our top layer (Light) or our base layer (9H)
I’m not saying that this is 9H or a proper full coating. Read my pinned comment and reread the title of this video please. Thank you for watching Chase
Good effort on your side with the video but i am assuming u had no idea what u were getting into. the manufacturers lists life upto 2 months(which can be drastically less) and secondly its not a ceramic coating(its a chemical like rain x is for glass) .. i hope u realise tht coz i got this impression from the title of the video tht its a review for ceramic coating probably a good coat of wax would have done the same thing and Optimum No Rinse is something u should try and tht would a great product for you to review as well.
I just put water on spray bottle and spray on the car and after spray quick detailling with hydrophobic and polymer by meguiar s swipe and (finish him) with spray wax bananna oil by chemical guy
Umm. Love your choice of cars. Mx5 drop head is fun fun and a great update on the Lotus Elan that is clearly its inspiration. Mini Copper is fun fun too. So whilst admiring your car choices I am not so enamoured with detailing choices. First off that "snakeskin" you refer to is the original paint and clear coat finish. The high shine now makes it (even more) visible. This is almost normal on mass produced cars - even high end ones. Have a look in a BMW or Mercedes showroom - you will see the same. All the ceramic coating has achieved here is to seal in the paint faults you already had - from the original manufacture and then from the use of the car. No way should a ceramic coating be applied without a paint correction process first. Ceramic coating is permanent and makes it much harder to correct faults later. It may sound mad but 30 plus hours of polishing is necessary before applying a ceramic coating and that assumes your paint is in ok(ish) condition. As you say in the video it is nonsense to expect your car to not need cleaning. Do not use a product from a company that claims that. You should expect cleaning to be easier and quicker, but you definitely need to clean a car a different way to how you do in the video. Dirt and friction are your enemies, so spraying with a product and wiping off sends shivers down my spine - you are scratching your vehicle for sure. It seems where you live there is a lot of dust but the same technique applies anyway. Rinse the car first to get loose dirt off. Then wash with a quality car shampoo product - preferably one recommended to work with the ceramic coating. Use two buckets - one to with shampoo and one to rinse. Use a grit guard in the rinse bucket and use a wash mit. Use separate wash mits for wheels and dirtier areas. Rinse vehicle again and dry with a towel - yes a towel. Do. It use a blade or a microfibre - use towels to dry. My Jag XKR requires 2 small towels for each clean and I wash them between each use. Once dry you can lightly run over with a microfibre to make sure you have got the water spots off, I generally don't bother as I dry throughly but it is easy to miss a spot. My opinion is that the car and your expectations meant that ceramic coating was not suitable, unless you spent lots more money for paint correction and I would question the shop that sold this treatment to you. I have seen cars with ceramic coatings that are still performing after 7 years. The best are guaranteed for that long.
who told you that you wouldn't have to wash your car again? i've been thinking of having this done so i've watched many videos... literally every single video and review tells people "getting ceramic pro does NOT mean you don't have to wash the car anymore." i've also had a few price quotes from licensed installers and literally every one of them stressed the fact that you HAVE to keep maintaining your vehicle by washing it, and further more should bring it back to a certified shop yearly for maintenance of the coat. as far as i can see, you took off a star and a half because you didn't do any research to see what ceramic coating is actually capable of and how it works... that's your own fault, not ceramic pro's.
Ceramic coating lasts 5 years with 2 other coatings giving u 2 more years i recommend R1's products you should also watch their videos they are amazing! also dont use armor all that stuffs for the engine only it does nothing but make your car greasy get shine zilla or sum Also your car should have been perfectly clear they shouldnt have used towels only use blocks and were applying to much pressure which made your car hazy when up close Dont go to anybody that calls them self a detalier most likely they just asked their dad to work at their shop and havent been properly trained go to somebody who says their a paint correctionist or a auto reconditioning specialist they have been properly trained and know what to do
Any supposed protective coating that does not allow for easy removal of waterspot deposits is not worth whatever it costs. I just do Turtlewax Ice 1-2 times a year, and use the spray version with soft plastic Dobie sponge to get off sap and bug residues; no water spotting. Donny calls out your poor car's paint job. I'm wondering if the waterless wash sprays are removing most all the ceramic layer, as beading does not look very impressive. As most OEM paint has decent UV barriers, I figure the only true test of any surface wax or protectant is ten years outdoors with only washings. I don't believe the hype, especially for the most elite, pricey fad of the day.
Update! Got my GTI coated with 9H Ceramic Pro, here's that video: ruclips.net/video/zA9SYVpim9Y/видео.html
Can you remove water Spots from a ceramic coated car?
Its a review on CP SPORT, not CP Light or CP 9H. The video name ''Ceramic Pro 1 Year Coating Review '' may confuse people.
Kindly change it to '' Ceramic Pro SPORT 1 Year Coating Review''
Respectfully,
Ceramic Pro
Thank you guys for watching. Been waiting 3 months for this comment.

That 'snake skin' coating as you call it is orange peal from the poor quality of the respray! Secondly your wash technique is horrible !
Thank you for watching.
Agreed 100% definitely orange peel and nothing to do with the Ceramic Pro.
So I fault your experience as the lack of education from the installers themselves and improper cleaning techniques that you did
The Sport version of 9h shine shows any flaws in the paint. The WORD cheap makes me fringe 🙊🙉🙈. That's like saying my dentist is cheap 😂😂😂😂
Should I Get It does that mean the sport is more of a paint sealant like the dealers usually do? I haven't seen that anywhere down here.
+Edward Sessum it’s the same coating they put on top of 9H. Most dealers do a sealant that lasts about 6 months if that.
More info: ceramic-pro.com/en/shop/product-line/product/sport/
How much$$
Edward Sessum how much was That? I just bought a 2017 wrx
Miata? Armor All? Im done 😂
So i guess i was wrong there:)
Each procedure appeals to diff people.
Yea, I either hand wash or coin-op, but I don't use the brushes. I bring my own microfiber wash mit. (Not legal at all coin-ops)
Andrew I
"go through is a touchless which should be okay for the miata softop" DITTO- Been doing that with my 05' Miata for yrs..
I've noticed :( my black wrangler I feel so bad
First the car itself is already dead on the poor quality paint job spray and your wash technique is wrong.
My friends truck did the coating on his F150 and only need to wash like once per month unless he goes off roading. The stains easily wash itself with water
after clay bar you are supposed to compound and polish the car
then wipe it clean with isopropyl alchohol to remove any residue left by the polish.
then you apply the ceramic coating, then you add silica spray
and your car should remain dry for atleast 12 hours for everthing to set.
then after that you need to use shampoo's etc that are ceramic coating friendly whenever you clean your car.
There's nothing that says it will prevent your car from getting dirty. Ceramic pro sport is the entry level application and will not give the protection of a silver or gold package. The sport package will wear off unlike the silver or gold packages.
Armor All............TRASH
+nathan t works alright for a few hours. Attracts dirt though so definitely “meh” rated. Not bad for $5
He's wearing crocs, what do you expect?
nathan t what s better than armor all for leather and interior?
Can never go wrong with Meguiar products. I use their Ultimate Quik Interior Detailer.
VLR
What does it look like when it's at the end of it's lifetime. Does it have to be removed?
You had it painted at maaco for 200 dollars then you want to apply ceramic coat lol
So many haters... Cool video guy. Glad you took the time and shared your experiment
+Ed Perez thank you!
@@shouldigetit Same here, thanks for posting it. (nice car by the way)
Thank you very much!
You still have to do washes(the correct way)to maintain the coating, you cant let it sit for 3+ months in the sun letting it get dirty and not expect it to wear prematurely!
Yup!
I am a ceramic pro installer and sport is just a try. The ceramic pro 9H with the light is better last longer and is always looking good
And you should NEVER go thru a drive thru after getting the Ceramic Pro? Ever EVER?
I've been checking reviews. Just bought a new truck & want it to shine not "spot up"
yeah ceramic coatings are notorious for water spots and streaks, but it is easier to clean and keeps the paint looking like new.
Yes yes and yes
Thanks for watching Michael
IYes, car got dirty, black especiall shows dirty. have a new Honda Ridgeline Black with 9H Ceramic Pro coating. The first wash I did was with a good car soap, microfibers towels, and a spray wand. Will try a foam soap application next. Thanks for your review, it raised my awareness of how I'm going to have to take care of the finish. We'll see at the one year check up.
Just had this done. A 3 week "seasoning process". I'm used to washing my truck every weekend & it's DUSTY as hell right now! WHAT do I do? And, can I still use RainX on the front windshield?
did the shop do a full paint correction on your car and then apply the Ceramic Pro? or just wash your car and apply Ceramic Pro?
Glenn-André Risvold is correct. No detailer worth his salt will move from clay bar to ceramic coating. All this misinformation is astounding.
at 2:10 you have to notice tho how shiny it still is with all the grime on it. the gloss pops through
Ceramic coating done in 1.5 hour? :)
My car is getting it right now and this what they are doing (shortened):
1. Prewash to remove rough dirt
2. active foam for remaining impurities
3. pH neutral 2 bucket wash
4. claying paint and windows
5. active foam after claying
6. drying
7. 2 level polishing
8. degreasing
9. gyeon primer
10. gyeon q2 mosh (2 layers)
And it will all take 4 to 5 days. So if they done it in 1.5 hour, I dont think they did it right.. so i hope at least, that they didnt take too much money for that.
You’re getting a full ceramic pro coat which is awesome! DD does the same for their other packages. This video is specifically on the “Sport” coating
Oh.. sorry, missed that. Our guys only offer full coating or nothing, so didnt even know about this. Great car btw :)
Can you comment on scratch resistance? Do you notice any scratches on the coating after 1 year use? Any scratches after a waterless wash?
Dude you got the cheapo option! Our sports package version in NZ only gets a 3 month warranty. Get the triple diamond one then wait a year then report back to us ;)
These ceramic coatings are very interesting. I'll be coating my rims myself with Gyeon Rim.
By the way, the paint on your passenger door has a lot of orange peel (3:50) :(
Like an orange plantation.
Regardless of what any ads might say, anyone who would think that the car would just repel dirty clearly doesn't understand reality :P
Thanks for the video though, I am looking at getting both a PPF film on the front end of the car and then a ceramic coating over the entire vehicle, so it's nice to see some more information.
Please watch my new video on the 9H coating I got done on my other car
Its amazing how ive seen time and time again a big horde of CP installers rise up inflamed every time someone says that they dont like ceramic pro (user error! your technique sucks! Whos that installer, all other are great, etc). I wonder if the product is really that weak as to need so much commitment in its defense. Thanks for sharing your experience with it
As well the coating needs a good decontamination every 3 to 6 months and if this is done, you will be amazed at how easily rinsed it will be. Buy some iron x and a clay bar kit.
Did they re-apply the ceramic coating after buffing the water spots off? I can't imagine a ceramic coating holding up to a buff job.
+billy mccabe it holds up to a buffer
It does not, it needed to be reapplied
it takes 2 to 3 weeks to cure and they tell you when picking it up that water spots will do that during the cure period.
What truck Jim!? Thanks for watching. By the way I have a much better / newer video of Ceramic 9H on the channel which I had done on my Mark 6 VW GTI.
I did it myself.... And it worked like a charm it's awesome stuff
The sport package doesn't get a layer of light. Its one layer of sport, 1 layer of rain, one layer of wheel and caliper.
Ben, are you familiar with rinseless washing? Look into Optimum No Rinse, you may like it better than a waterless wash.
+Kenshyn22 never heard of it! I’ll give it a try when I run out of my current products. Thank you!
Kenshyn22 I second ONR they just released a new formula. I can't really tell a difference in quality but it smells insanely amazing
Should I Get It try Adam's Polishes rinseless wash or waterless wash. You won't find better out there than Adam's.
ONR is hands down the most versatile detailing product on the market
If the spotting is bad, then is their really any water repulsion?
The word is "anyway" not "anyways". Call me what you want but using the correct words when one speaks is always a good thing!
That it is! Thank you for catching that and letting me know. I'll be sure to use it properly next time.
Anyways...hope you subscribed! (Just kidding about the "S" at the end of that :)
What's the point of getting a 1 year ceramic coating?
Shame for the guys who did your car and call themsleves "detailers" just a quick cheap work
With a horrible result the orange peel at 2:57 🤢
When you put a ceramic coating you have to get a full detail wash/clay/polish/(sand polish in your case.)
Apply the ceramic coating and let it cure for 12/24h in a clean close area and that even on a brand new car.
What was your cost to do the ceramic coating on this vehicle? Thx!
This wasn’t a fully ceramic coating. Just the sport layer. I think I paid $250
I have a doubt,
once you start to lose this layer of ceramics, you can return to apply,
is it necessary to polish the vehicle to re-apply?thanks..
As with all things, preparation is key so the paint should be corrected before application of a 9H coating (my coating is NOT 9H).
It would be the same process shown in this video if I wanted to get another coating of the same Sport coat done 12 months after I got mine.
great and informative video. i'm new to ceramic coatings and i learned a lot from this video. however, i'm a bit confused... did you really think that this ceramic coating would "repel dirt" and prevent your car from getting dirty? cmon man...
another thing i'm confused on... does the 9H requires yearly reapplication with the "sport package"? why not the other ones like 5H and 7H?
and so you were able to get just the "sport package" coating and still got it to last 1 year? wow
anyway thanks for this informative video.
THanks for the explanation!
I live in Texas and recently it’s been raining a shit ton and randomly throughout the day and night, does this mean I should stay away given the water spot situation?
Rain water is filtered so you’ll be fine. Stay away from sprinklers and garden hoses
Orange peel is horrible I would never waste my money applying ceramic pro on that paint finish
The Sport package shown in the video is essentially glorified hydrophobic coating
yup
hi I am getting a brand new car with a race red color. Kindly recommend me the products I can use to protect my car color as I am not having a garage.
Either Ceramic Pro with 9H (silver or higher package) or an Xpel clear wrap on the entire vehicle.
+Kyle Dull Thank you for your comment and watching. It’s actually very helpful and I will keep that in mind for the next videos.
The little frog got ceramic coating
How it comes off later that you want new coating?
Thank you for the recommendation!
Thanks for the honest review! Very informative
+Виктор Шишков kanashna! Thanks for watching
It needs water for the dirt and debris to fly off. Even the ads show that. Your 1 Star for Dirt is misguided.
Did you try using vinegar that helps with hard water spots i get them in my fish tank sometimes and thats how i get rid of the spots
I didn’t try that but good to know. Thanks for the note! I’ll try that out next time
Just curious.
I stopped watching when you said snake skin look. Your poorly done paint job and dry clear coat is the snake skin look your seeing.
+Andrew Miller as the description states. I got the “Sport” product.
+Gábor Bérczi all valid points.
Thanks for watching
Ceramic pro sport only promises up to 2 months protection, not 1 year. It's a sealant you're supposed to apply yourself after washes, not get applied at a shop. It is not a full ceramic coat. You should remove 'the truth' from your title.
As well as ceramic pro sport is a 6 month coating comparative of a paint sealant.
opti no rinse is what you should be using for washing bud.
I hope after they removed the water spots by polishing they re applied the coating if not its probably close to gone
Why such an issue with the hard water spots?
That I'm not sure of! It does NOT happen with rain water, just with sprinkler/hose water here.
Mind sprinklers can stain regular cars with the added chemicals. The ceramic pro did its job by keeping that chemical from staining your paint 👍🏽
You did not USE Ceramic PRO!!!! But their consumer Sport product. Dont mislead people. Ceramic Pro advertised is not what you compare to...
+Milen Stoimenov ok.
What do you mean?
George Torres do some research on the product line
Ceramic Pro has no consumer product out though?
jtq007 how do I get it?
U can order ceramic pro sport for 69 $apply every three months it don’t. Last a year it’s not a coating but prettt close I use to use it as a drying agent and went through the bottle soo fast I will put less and only apply every three months but I will clay and polish before I put it on it works better and bonds better on dry surface
It would be helpful if anyone tell about C3 coating for cars and whether it's better than ceramic coating or not!
Thank you in advance!
This is a perfect example of two things...1....an uneducated customer of ceramic coating ! 2....a shady detailing company who didn't educate the customer and were not truefull with their customer!!...this car owner clearly doesn't understand proper paint care nor proper ceramic coating maintance!!...also in my opinion it was kinda a waste to apply a coating to the horrible paint job !..the owner should of atleast had the paint corrected first!...the detail shop when they polished the hard water spots off more than likely removed or atleast did damage to the coating that obviously also didn't tell the car owner what the results would be by polishing the coating!!..I believe they where less than honest because they were only interested in making a buck by installing a coating and that's it!...these cheesy detailers are one of many reasons coatings are getting a bad name!!...but the ultimate responsibility is with this car owner that obviously even though he doled out some bucks to get a coating doesn't seem to have enough correct knowledge on how to care for his paint!..I don't understand people investing that kind of money ,giving the impression they care about there paint but don't take the time and energy to properly take care of their car!!...just baffling!!
..
Gets car ceramic coated, proceeds to spray half the hood with water and wipe it down. Great job bud
Thanks bud 😂
ceramic pro sport is a maintenance topper for ceramic pro 9H its not a coating its a hydrophobic spray with durability up to 6 months if that
Why you buff the waterspots?
Video is 8:50 seconds. Less time was spent wet sanding it.
Or do it yourself with the ceramic pro you can buy? Humm?
Yes you can definitely do it yourself. It's available from multiple online retailers.
Miata and a mini cooper? Dude....why?
Dude it’d take a whole video to answer that in full detail but the short answer is amazing SPG in both cars. Smiles Per Gallon. Watch my Mini Cooper S riders reaction video.
How much You pay tell me the truth
So they did not even wash the tires?
No, tires don't get ceramic coating. They were pretty clean already.
Surprised by streaks left behind by waterless wash. Also water spots should be removable by simply wiping off for any ceramic coat. If birdpoop doesn't etch the paint, why doesn't water spots go away. Looks like cp sport is a glorified paint sealant.
you cant review ceramic pro base on sport. sport is a maintainer for the 9H its only good if you have 9H on.
Definitely made I️t easier to clean even with a sport package and I’m not reviewing 9H in this video. Hence having “Sport” in the title and description. Thank you for watching
Basically your giving the shop 3.5 stars. The product is fine it’s way the car is prepped before the coating is applied it’s the most important step
No no I give the shop 5 stars and would probably be 5/5 if I got the 9H coating but this is just the sport coating.
Kind of confusing video! You said in the beginning CP Sport was used then in the end you said CP Light was used! 2 completely different products that do different things!
That car needed a wet sand bad
Well the streaks are from the spray on car wash. And sorry watching you clean it off have more than 2 rags.
+Stan Whitney yeah this wash definitely isn’t the best. It’s okay for a few hours tops.
How could you put Ceramic Pro on shame to compare ArmourAll?!
Any paint correction will be very quickly undone with all those waterless washes and quick detailers.
You will scratch the shit out of the paint.
Ceramic coating lasts 5 years with 2 other coatings giving u 2 more years i recommend R1's products you should also watch their videos they are amazing! also dont use armor all that stuffs for the engine only it does nothing but make your car greasy get shine zilla or sum
Also your car should have been perfectly clear they shouldnt have used towels only use blocks and were applying to much pressure which made your car hazy when up close
Dont go to anybody that calls them self a detalier most likely they just asked their dad to work at their shop and havent been properly trained go to somebody who says their a paint correctionist or a auto reconditioning specialist they have been properly trained and know what to do
Any supposed protective coating that does not allow for easy removal of waterspot deposits is not worth whatever it costs.
