Your video on setting up an ipad music production studio was truly inspiring to me so yesterday I purchased everything in the video (that I was missing) I can't wait to put it all together. I have a korg kaossilator pro+ that I plan on including as my external piece of gear, and now with this video about audiolayer, I am really excited to get started!!!! THANKS so much for your vids, keep them coming!!
Thanks for watching! 😁👊 Not sure on the zero crossing snap feature being in here or not, I haven't used this sampler in a long time now. It's also been updated a few times since I made this video.
Great video Dean. Now I know how to map samples. Thank you. I’m not sure how to fade in and fade out a sample though. I don’t see any option for it. If you know how please let me know!!
GREAT QUESTION!! 😀 👊 I think you have to do it as you are recording the sample, before you hit "SAVE". Now that I look more closely, there seems to be an extra set of sliders for setting a fade in and fade out on the original sample right when we record it. I need to check this out further! 👍👍
Electronisounds Audio yeah I know what sliders you mean. I messed with those and couldn’t seem to get it. You see, I’ve been importing so....it’s seems to be a different ball game when you import. Idk man. Im definitely gonna look at it tonight. I use it a lot. Thanks again for making this video because this is really an amazing app. And there’s not really any videos out there except Doug’s and yours. I have some orchestral patches I made with it. Some really crazy stuff man.
Electronisounds Audio yeah it would be nice. I guess we can just trim it in audioshare then put it in AudioLayer. Again thanks man. We’ll see I’m gonna check it out again. I just haven’t bothered cause it’s so fun and creative. And that reverb is insane. Have a nice day man
Thanks for digging into this one, Dean. I bought it at launch because the developer makes great stuff, but I personally bounced off it. Heard they had made improvements to it with subsequent updates, but never checked it out again. Your video has reignited my interest. Thanks so much.
Boom! Excellent! 😀 👊 It took me AGES to get 'round to checking this out, and it seems like it solves a lot of my issues getting my own sounds and samples into AUM. YAY! 👍
Sorry, Joshua - i've not actually tried importing any sfz format patches into it, so I'm not really sure. That 4.6gigs is really huge, though - this *might* have a size limitation(?). This might be one to ask Virsyn. 😀 👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio yes I thought it was abit big. it's a piano I don't know if it has got a file limitation. I've seen a video on RUclips on how to import it. I will give that a go thank you👍

Im a pianist and have just paid for logic pro for ipad and then discovered to my horror that the piano sounds are all awful! Im a newbie so this has thrown me but i think this app might be the solution! I want to use the free felt pianos in pianobook...amazing sounds. Ive already exported my piano track in midi format into logic... So id just need to download the sample with audioshare app and then open it with audio layer? Sorry if thats a daft question 🙏
Sorry, I'm not sure what format those pianos are in so I'm not sure how easy they will be to load into Audiolayer. I'm also not using Logic, but it should work with Logic. GOOD LUCK!! 😁🙏👊
This is quite an old video now, I've not been using this sampler regularly lately, but I don't remember it being better or worse than other samplers in regards to pitch. 👍
Love the video, Dean. You mention ReSlice, but I'm not clear how it differs from AudioLayer. Is AudioLayer a replacement for ReSlice, or does the latter have functionality the former lacks?
Hey Hey! 😀 👊 This is a sampler, whereas ReSlice is a *Loop Slicing and Randomizing* tool. 👍 I mentioned ReSlice as something that potentially could be used to further tweak the *loops* you could potentially record in AUM using the sounds you've sampled into AudioLayer. I made a video on making loops in AUM which you then can use as you would *any* loops: ruclips.net/video/rF7g3BQkOHg/видео.html I don't actually have any videos on ReSlice, but you can see it slicing, chopping, remixing and glitching here: ruclips.net/video/wD7GFEiHlx8/видео.html
Just came across this and I think this sampler may be exactly what I am looking for. The only thing I have run into is once a one shot sample is started there seems to be no way to stop it. Some apps will let you configure a "toggle" so if a key is pressed to trigger the one shot the same key can be pressed again to stop and reset it. Can this be done with this sampler?
@@JimM2112 No, sorry - I'm guessing you want to load LONG one shot samples and toggle them on off. Have you thought about just muting them on/off maybe? That could be a workable solution? You can do that with Beatmaker 3 - load samples onto pads, trigger samples, then mute/unmute the pads.... :)
Very nice looking sampler seems like it does do most things expect time stretching?or is there a work around or another app you import the sample into ,great for layering tho
Hey Hey! 😀 👊 Yeah, I don't think it does time stretching. I don't personally use any time stretching of any kind unless it's being done in Ableton. From my experience, no other time stretch algorithm sounds good enough to make me happy with the result(s). 🤓🤓
