I think Penn State is strategically overrated to boost Ohio State. Both OSU and Boise State have looked best barely losing on the road at Oregon, but OSU has an unranked loss which gets negated all because they defeated Penn State.

If that's the ranking then that's what it is. If it's 7 Tennessee and 10 Alabama, then that's what it is. If it's 8 penn st and 9 ohio st....then that's what it is. They shouldn't change rankings to keep ANY conference from playing first round games against eachother. If for example texas gets the top seed and you have an 8 vs 9 sec matchup and the winner faces texas (that means 2 sec teams will be eliminated in 2 rounds automatically.) Then that's what happens. Win your games. We all know espn gonna have their hand in the mix and have sec teams at all 4 corners of the brackets so they can meet in the finals.
If Boise State beats UNLV, there is zero doubt they should get the first round bye over the Big 12 champ based on how competitive they were able to make the game against Oregon at Autzen. The Big 12 is definitely the worst of the power 4 conferences and I don’t think there’s a single team in the Big 12 who could keep Oregon within 10 points at Autzen. In general, the Big 12 is better than the G5, but now that Texas and Oklahoma are in the SEC, the degree of separation this season between the Big 12 and G5 isn’t that great, and again, no one in the Big 12 would be able to give a legit title contender like Oregon the type of game Boise State did, especially on the road.

Of all the 1 loss teams, the highest ranked one is from the SEC. Of all the 2 loss teams, the highest 2 are from the SEC. Of all the 3 loss teams, yep, you guessed it, the top 3 of those are from the SEC. That shows the bias as much as anything.
Sorry, when your team has three losses and at least one is to an unranked team, you shouldn’t be considered for the playoff over teams with 1 or two losses. The playoff can’t be 90% SEC and BIG 10 with the excuse that they’re better. Let them prove it by playing the top teams from other conferences.

I would have ND at #5 and Penn St. since they appear to loose their conference championship game down to #6, and then OSU at #7 they have two losses, and Georgia then at #8 as they now have 3 losses since I see Texas at #2 meaning they lost to Texas in the Conference championship game and now have 3 losses.. Indiana #9 with 1 loss over #10 Tennessee with 2 losses.. Then Miami at #11 and Arizona St at #12.. When it comes down to week #2, I do not see either SMU or Boise winning their games.. its not going to happen.. the problem with the format you have here is, its not actually putting the 4 best teams or all the teams in some semblance of their true ranking of their abilities.. that being the top team we would probably all agree is Oregon, and then perhaps Texas, but nobody is going to tell me of the remaining teams that both SMU and Boise are the next two best teams.. its one thing to guarantee a playoff birth, its another to give a conference champion a top spot simply because they are a conference champion.. its fine to grant an automatic bid, but it does not have to be the top 4 spots and a bye.. Just one guy's opinion here but if it came down to one team between the quartet of Miami Bama SC and Ole Miss, I think I would go with Ole Miss. My reason why boils down to these: I think Miami's defense is too much of a liability and if we're being honest they should've lost to either Cal and VT or both so for me they're out. For Alabama, I think the loss to Oklahoma is an outright eliminator of a game. You are allowed to lay an egg, but you are not allowed to get manhandled by an inferior team. They may have a high ceiling (like Miami) but they have too low of a floor (also like Miami). To me that leaves a debate between Ole Miss and SC and given that Ole Miss beat SC head to head and they have a better win than any of SC's, I would give them the nod. Just my thoughts

This year isn’t last year. They wouldn’t had been able to compete without Jordan Travis. And their sos was weak compared to the teams that were in. Michigan had the #7 sos. Washington had the #1 sos. Bama had the #2 sos and Texas had the #12 sos. FSU sos was 36. Not too mention, last year it was only 4 teams

Miami does not have an impressive win and hasn't looked good in wins. So now it is down to bama and Ole Miss, which i think is a toss-up, but i think what edges out ole miss is loss margin ole miss has lost by 13 combine points, bama has lost by 33 combined points. That is my case for ole miss.

Mia. beat Gators, Ol Miss lost to them. A similar opponent is USF for Bama and Mia., Bama wins 42-15, Mia wins 50-15. Imo that eliminates Bama and Ol Miss over Mia. 10-2 over 9-3 is another reason. Georgia is always disrespected: last year undefeated regular season for THREE seasons in a row lost by 3 points in SEC championship and kicked out. They’ll put SEC teams to play each otherAGAIN in playoffs just to knock out SEC so the cupcake teams can advance.
If that's the ranking then that's what it is. If it's 7 Tennessee and 10 Alabama, then that's what it is. If it's 8 penn st and 9 ohio st....then that's what it is. They shouldn't change rankings to keep ANY conference from playing first round games against eachother. If for example texas gets the top seed and you have an 8 vs 9 sec matchup and the winner faces texas (that means 2 sec teams will be eliminated in 2 rounds automatically.) Then that's what happens. Win your games. We all know espn gonna have their hand in the mix and have sec teams at all 4 corners of the brackets so they can meet in the finals.

If Boise State beats UNLV, there is zero doubt they should get the first round bye over the Big 12 champ based on how competitive they were able to make the game against Oregon at Autzen. The Big 12 is definitely the worst of the power 4 conferences and I don’t think there’s a single team in the Big 12 who could keep Oregon within 10 points at Autzen. In general, the Big 12 is better than the G5, but now that Texas and Oklahoma are in the SEC, the degree of separation this season between the Big 12 and G5 isn’t that great, and again, no one in the Big 12 would be able to give a legit title contender like Oregon the type of game Boise State did, especially on the road.

Of all the 1 loss teams, the highest ranked one is from the SEC. Of all the 2 loss teams, the highest 2 are from the SEC. Of all the 3 loss teams, yep, you guessed it, the top 3 of those are from the SEC. That shows the bias as much as anything.

Why don’t they make a rule three loss team Espically 2 to unrank teams should be eliminated from playoff talks. Shoot the 4 team playoff was 1 loss you might not make it in. If they don’t punish anyone else for losing in conference championship they shouldn’t punish a power 4 conference runner up.
I would have ND at #5 and Penn St. since they appear to loose their conference championship game down to #6, and then OSU at #7 they have two losses, and Georgia then at #8 as they now have 3 losses since I see Texas at #2 meaning they lost to Texas in the Conference championship game and now have 3 losses.. Indiana #9 with 1 loss over #10 Tennessee with 2 losses.. Then Miami at #11 and Arizona St at #12.. When it comes down to week #2, I do not see either SMU or Boise winning their games.. its not going to happen.. the problem with the format you have here is, its not actually putting the 4 best teams or all the teams in some semblance of their true ranking of their abilities.. that being the top team we would probably all agree is Oregon, and then perhaps Texas, but nobody is going to tell me of the remaining teams that both SMU and Boise are the next two best teams.. its one thing to guarantee a playoff birth, its another to give a conference champion a top spot simply because they are a conference champion.. its fine to grant an automatic bid, but it does not have to be the top 4 spots and a bye.. I really think that Oregon, Texas, perhaps ND and OSU or PENN ST. would have been better suited as the top 4 seeds with a bye.. Of coarse we still have Championship week coming up, but going by what I see here on the playoff board, this is how I see things.. NCAA needs to change the conference champions guaranteed a top 4 seed with a bye, and just guarantee a Bid in the big dance!! Maybe a guarantee that they get a home game in the first round.. unless of coarse they truly are viewed as one of the top 4 teams in the entire NCAA.. Just one guy's opinion here but if it came down to one team between the quartet of Miami Bama SC and Ole Miss, I think I would go with Ole Miss.
My reason why boils down to these: I think Miami's defense is too much of a liability and if we're being honest they should've lost to either Cal and VT or both so for me they're out. For Alabama, I think the loss to Oklahoma is an outright eliminator of a game. You are allowed to lay an egg, but you are not allowed to get manhandled by an inferior team. They may have a high ceiling (like Miami) but they have too low of a floor (also like Miami). To me that leaves a debate between Ole Miss and SC and given that Ole Miss beat SC head to head and they have a better win than any of SC's, I would give them the nod. Just my thoughts

In my opinion, as a ole miss fan, i believe Ole Miss is the best team out of miami, SC, bama, and Ole Miss. SC lost to ole miss by 24 points at SC, so how can they be above ole miss. Miami does not have an impressive win and hasn't looked good in wins. So now it is down to bama and Ole Miss, which i think is a toss-up, but i think what edges out ole miss is loss margin ole miss has lost by 13 combine points, bama has lost by 33 combined points. That is my case for ole miss.
