I have stage four bladder cancer and I need things to look forward too every week so I can keep going. Like I can’t die now I still have 40 weeks of Robert Fripps soundscapes to listen too. It might not seem like much to most people but if I can go a few more weeks I’m happy about it. Thank you Mr Fripp for the extra weeks of wonderful sounds.
To whom it may concern, Quite Moments equal inner stillness or peace and do not have to mean silence. Nice work Mr Fripp. Always a pleasure. Thank you.
We were at the next two nights (should have been three, that's another story) of this "Soundscapes Do Dixie" tour, in Charlotte and Greenville. The "burning questions" sessions between sets were enlightening, amusing, and cringe. One night (at the Greenville Handle Bar, I think), RF opened the session by explaining what a "burning question" is (if you had ten minutes to live, you would choose to spend it asking the question and hearing the answer), and sharing that he had been asked by a previous audience member (possibly even the night before in Charlotte's Neighborhood theater) "aren't you going to play any tunes?" To which he explained why that wasn't practical with this gear setup, etc. Then the questions began. Someone asked whether RF knew, I don't recall exactly, the original bass player from Procol Harum or something, but RF hadn't had the pleasure, and the questioner went on to assure RF that the musician in question was a really good dude. Eventually, there was a questioner who wanted to know whether he would play Epitaph. RF, and I quote, "politely, would you please stick that beer bottle up your arse?" Speaking of beer bottles, the Handle Bar in Greenville, SC is just as redneck as it sounds, and the staff and 'regulars' were a mix of amused by and hostile toward this event and its participants. The venue has a bar area aside from the performance space, with whatever kitchen/storage/staff area in between. Throughout this presentation of lovely, delicate music, there was a low din from the bar area, including the periodic enormously loud clatter if emptying of bins of empty bottles into, I guess, larger bins of empty bottles. Toward the end of one of the pieces, two people, at least one of whom I believe was an employee of the establishment, stood by the wall in the performance space, not 50 feet from the stage, carrying on a VERY LOUD conversation as if everyone there had barged into their home and was rudely making it difficult for them to have their private interaction. My perception of RF was that, for several solid minutes he glared at them, before fairly abruptly curtailing the piece in progress. It's possible I misconstrued, and he was just gazing in a way that, from my perspective, seemed like he was staring daggers at them, and that the piece had run the course to his contentment, but I don't think so. RF remarked "A generous audience. Playing to ongoing conversation & with more drunks present than in a very long time. The Q&A was well humoured, with some of the dopiest questions presented to me in a public context." Ah, here, RF further remarks about Greenville "Apparently one source of ongoing conversation during the performance was the barman. For various reasons, he had reservations regarding his employment. Clearly, these seeped out of his mouth throughout most of the performance. The manager person appeared & apologised: if we had known, we might have done something is a summary of her position. Why didn’t management know? is a summary of my position."
You lucky man.. I can't imagine if I can see Fripp alive.. I maybe kneeling and shame tearing all performance.. Coz I think he is one of the modern real genious. God bless him. Dmitry, Minsk

The mothership is arriving.... thank goodness.
I play these at work when I'm sorting mail or processing other packages. Not sure what the woman I work with thinks, but she's never complained.
if she does complain just turn it up louder so you don't hear her lol :D

A mid roll ad? Really?

If it supposed to be a quiet moment, then why does there need to be music fir it? That would make it not quiet.
Dosen't make sense ..you WANT quiet moments to be ...yes that's right ...quiet ..🙊
music is silence too. you aint into that DGM philosophy, i see
