Did you figure out how to set custom codes? I did, Press the 9 dot symbol under the left side of the video screen. then Press the "+" in the upper right corner. After "Doorcode generation" press "System", then press "Customize" at the bottom of the screen. It will let you put any code you want. I am still trying to figure out how the Bell wires work. I would like to have a door bell in the house when the bell button is pressed. I tried to connect them to a speaker to them but nothing. I suppose if I get an old fashion door bell and wire it to the push button on the door bell it would work?
No. It's literally just a wireless access point. Plug it in, follow instructions, point it towards the area you want coverage and it's on and working. Just like any home wifi connection.
thanks for posting this. I've been searching for a while for a solution. How's it been holding up? I need it for a vacation home rental community which is gated, and of course, i would like to grant guest temporary codes to se during their visit. Let me know how your unit has been holding up. awesome save
Just 2 wires. The common and normally open if I remember right. Basically when you open the gate with the intercom it just closes the circuit for a second. You also need to power the intercom so I ran 4 wires. 2 for the control and 2 for power and ground from the gate battery to the intercom.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone awesome thanks for the reply! Since I use a mighty mule also I guess I should probably splice the same 2 wires as you did off the 5 wires from the lock 1 harness on the intercom. And then yeah, run 2 wires from the mighty mule battery to the power / ground for the intercom.
Problem in installing the Doordeer app, I am getting through the installatoin when I get an error code AD411. I am using a 2.4 roughter and it is picked up by my phone ok. I am living in Denmark Eurpoe and not sure if this unit will work outside the USA?
I went to actually install this today the normal open / normal closed thing is confusing me. For my situation I would say it’s about 50/50 closed vs open. If you wire this for normal open is your gate going to sit open and just close for a minute and then go back open? When you close it, it closes and when you open it opens until you change it right? So why would it matter which way it gets wired? I canMt decide lol working for normal open on the provided instructions is slightly more complicated than for normal closed. They are referring to door strike / deadbolt in open and mag locks for normal closed…. Different than gates I suppose.
Totally depends on your gate control. My gate just uses a single pulse to open or close it. Same pulse. So being "normally open" means the circuit is always open or not connected. When you press the button it closes the circuit for just a second, aka pulses, the controller to signal a open or close (depending on the current state of the gate). This is how many gates work. It just depends on your gate.
Yes. It works from an app on your phone. You can use it from anywhere. My gate is cycled to open and stays open until you cycle it again to close it. Just depends on your gate model. If it has an auto close built in to the control, this will not hold it open
What's the length of ur driveway cause I live in a very rural area I have wifi but my driveway is forested and very long will it work? I have no cell service
It's gonna be close. I've had a few times in the summer with full leaves that it takes a few seconds to connect. You can tell it's the wifi cutting out. It just depends on your long range wifi setup and how high you can mount the wifi antenna on the call box. I've thought about putting a long range receiver at the end of the driveway on my telephone pole and then setting up a smaller hotspot for the area down there or just burying a cat5 cable to the call box from the receiver. But it works good enough to keep me from doing it
@@JackofAllMasterofNone I was thinking of of running a cable direct from the router and mount it on a tree on the side of the house that lines up with the gate's receiver instead of shooting it straight down the driveway.
I just installed it and have been using it for almost a month. So far it's worked great with the exception of 1 connection issue 1 time. I think the server was slow or it was my own network problem. But it's been fine since.
Do you know if this unit would work off a 12 volt solar system that i have hooked up to mighty mule gate openers ? im also on wifi and currently using a ring 4 solar with a wireless mighty mule keypad.
Can you show how you connected it to the mighty mule box?
can you help with the connection to the mighty mule?
Thank you for the SD card instructions at 8:15
After 5 months would you still recommend this product? I also need to upgrade my mighty mule keypad.

So far great. Been holding up well to the rain and snow this winter and working flawlessly
Can you help with the connections to the mighty mule control box? I’m trying to figure out which wires to run from the box to the keypad.

Probably should contact GBF directly. Im not sure.

About 800 feet and up a hill in the woods.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone mine about 1000 or more linear feet up a hill as well so would it be effective in my case?

Will it work with Co-Z sliding gate kit?
Not sure

Please give us updates on the unit. I don’t currently need one but that could change at any time.
