- 1991 Subaru Sambar is going on a 20 k mile ride in town and on the i4 highway. 660cc Clover-4 engine does a great job hauling a 500 pound Triumph Bonneville, about 50 pounds of tools and a 180 pound driver )) Guys, really sorry for a camera rattle it was not secured properly.
Overall the truck performance is outstanding!
EXCELLENT demonstration. You are by far give the best review of your vehicles
no. talk to camera not car
wow!! that extra low gear is awesome! it started going forward without even giving gas and has weight on it.. its a strong little beast!!! i need it in my life
If you do actually want one, try tradecarveiw. They have really cheap ones. Tell me if you get one
Chris Thompson i bought one from BoekiUSA in Vancouver Wa.
Sweet looking truck. I've never owned or driven a Subaru Sambar. I got to see a van version when I was visiting Victoria BC in Canada. I've never understood why such vehicles were never sold here in the USA. I would think they'd be perfect for suburban driving, if not commuting between cities.
Agree 100%
Super user friendly in town. Makes a great user friendly commuter.
Garanin Corp. this video convinced me that this is the Kei truck that would do well for my mountain trips w/ the bikes! May I ask what the asking price was for this? I didn't see a price for it on the website
This one was sold before the video. I do not like to discuss pricing on YT comments section. I have other trucks that are as nice.
Ima just say KEI TRUCKS ARE ADORABLE
Had a 1990 Suzuki Carry for a while until I sold it to a Hutterite Colony. The Suzuki was ok. . I test drove a Mitsubishi Mini Truck last week and was not impressed. Then I looked at and test drove a Subaru Sambar with a lift kit and ATV tires. Much roomier, quieter, better riding and handling than the Suzuki or Mitsu. The Subaru has a electric/hydraulic dump box plus a 4500 winch that the previous owner installed. I am it the process of taking the Subaru back to stock. Going to a drab Nato Green with a wood deck and sides. I like how you can lay a 4x8 sheet of whatever flat in the deck. Plus, a lift box makes engine access a lot easier. Subaru Sambar is the 'Cadillac' of Mini Trucks, IMO.
Sweet, post some pics when you are done!
I will !
Best vid hands down on these mini trucks
You are a great sales man my dude !! I want to buy everything you show !!
Thanks man, i do my best with what i have.
YES, he is good, I'm in Florida, and because of his taking the time to give such GREAT reviews I would consider him FIRST, but I think his prices would be too high for me.
i loved the final part of this video
Hey brother I love your videos and the products you sell are unique and amazing! I'm a working man and I earn a fair living but need to save for a while to be able to buy a kei truck or van but when I'm able I will definitely look you up. Much respect for you and the quality you represent. Thanks so much for doing what you do! Chris in Georgia
It looks more like 4 wheel scooter.
I want one.
I'd love to own that! ..very nice!
These are super popular in the Philippines.
There's also a Suzuki-branded iteration of them, and Isuzu also makes something very similar to this.
Suzuki? All the Suzuki's I have seen have been mid-engined, and not rear engined like the Sambar?
A heading collision in this type of vehicle would be catastrophic .
Head on *
I was thinking about that too
Same in a motorcycle or scouter
A head on collision in any vehicle is catastrophic... I am a survivor of a head on Isuzu trooper vs 18 wheller at 55+... I would rather be in that Flat faced truck any time death is way less painful than survival
Cabover vehicles are a death trap if you drive over a landmine
Good vid. Looking for sambar now.
just an opinion your mini truck looks like a dragonfly
If you would have placed the motorcycle front tire into the bed corner nearest the steering wheel & the rear wheel to the passenger seat rear corner the bike would have fit so you could close the bed tailgate. Both hands on the steering young man! That's the solution for short wheelbase cabovers
Great job on the review!
Nice bike, i like your posts also .
can you add some more details on how you loaded and secured your Bonneville? Looking to do same in my Sambar. Thanks
where would reverse be on it?
My commute is 65mph for about 55 miles. Which of the kei cars would you recommend. My current commuter has over 300,000 miles and is starting to show its age. that in mind I thought a kei truck would be a good replacement.
Please give me call @ 4074809777 so i can guide you in a right direction.
Nice Bonnie.
Superb accent.
Should be, he has practiced it since birth LOL
I'm surprised they don't have an electric version of that Or if nothing else a hybrid
Want one so bad just entered a giveaway for one

Hello,
This truck was sold before the video. It was going to a guy in NY who want to use for daily city commute and motorcycle transportation.
If you are interested in something like that or similar please contact me at 407-480-9777 tomorrow or on Monday.
Sincerely,
Tony.
Use your blinker please
oh shut up
can i lower bucket seat be installed for a 6'3 guy?
you still wont have leg room.
In the Subaru you don't need to I'm 6 foot 5 inches tall and I fit
Mitch?
I'm just curious what's the top speed can go because on highways the speed limit is 80
highways speed limit is 65mph. idk what the fook u talkin about.
He is talking about interstate and freeway speed limits outside of rural areas in states that have speed limits above the usual 75, mph like TX has a stretch or two at 85MPH. BTW I have read that the top speed for this truck is at about 87.. but I'm pretty sure the engine will be screaming at that speed and she will probably be pretty squirrelly handling at that speed. I don't think I would want to do more than 70...
Amigo cuantos cilindros tiene
4 wey
You would not pass your test in the UK, coasting over every speed bump
how hard is it to get a automatic daihatsu hijet?
Where do you live? How'd you get that thing highway legal?
isaac Dyer after 25 years they can be imported into the us. they just have to pass smog.
Thanks. There was one for sale at a local lot in my county, and I was wondering. I live in Georgia, see, and the state has no laws about these machines.
isaac Dyer it's solely federal. it's illegal for a county / city / state to override the 25 year law, however they still try to bypass it by imposing ridiculous smog laws (like California)
Oh. Well then, thank you for the information.
I'd really like to own one of these kei style trucks. My fiance and I will be moving from Baltimore on the east coast to Oregon next year. Well be purchasing a rural plot and probably building a log cabin. I work as a sud contractor and drive a four wheel drive extended cab Ranger. It's It's fantastic truck however id like find something I can use both on a job site and something I could drive into town and do so commuting in. Do you have any idea what the laws are for Oregon registering and driving a kei truck on the road?
Try tradecarview
GOT TAGS FOR IT GOT 2K OR IT
Good video however it is illegal to to roll up to stops in neutral and also somewhat dangerous
How much is the chicken tax on these?
25%
Where are you? Thank you

Garanincorp.com
Garanin Corp. where are. Haven’t seen you upload in a while
what is the mpg on this
Somewhere around 50 mpg I believe.
Close to 60mpg....
OK.. 1991 model w/ 10 thousand miles... Who's skirt are you trying to blow smoke up.. 110, 000 miles is the true reading. just because the odometer reads only 5 digits.Classy video.... but um......... I don't believe you... a 1991 w/ only 10 thousand miles??? .. That and I distrust your shoes....
23k km is ~15k miles. Even at 123k km would be ~77k miles.
They make millions of these trucks and inevitably some end up not getting used. It's pretty easy to tell which ones have rolled over and which haven't. This one looks pretty clean from the video.
Pour l'instant je vois que le présentateur ne sais pas utilisé une boite de vitesse manuel... Il se met au point mort à 100 m du feu tricolore alors qu'il roule ? Il est grave ce type et dangereux !
Need to learn how to down shift
