Utah residents encouraged to be prepared as wildfire season leads to power shutdowns

Infrastructure and power may be impacted as wildfire season has begun, and it will affect Utahns.
With the threat of wildfire comes consequences for powerlines.
Rocky Mountain Power officials said they are doing all they can to protect infrastructure and stop further damage.
The utility company has needed to shut off power in a dozen different incidents where fire has threatened homes and land nearby.
Just last week, almost 20,000 customers were without power in West Valley due to a fire threatening the power substation.
Jerry and Sharla Savage live in Taylorsville and have been affected by outages in the past.

More needs to be done to care for everyone in our communities. There are some social entities that take of their own but can be very clickish when it comes to caring for their neighbors. Being family oriented is beneficial although for the elderly especially they are often left behind because they have no family to watch over them. Assigning individuals that never show up, to minister to their needs leaves many of our elderly vulnerable.
