From other videos on RUclips, it appears that Draco’s tailwheel attachment is weak. I saw one where that piece cracked in half. Horizon should consider making an aluminum part to replace that plastic linkage. When my Draco arrives I’m going to fab one for myself to avoid the heart ache of watching it break. Thanks for the tip on the parts! I’ll use your coupon. OK, I just used the coupon and got a solid discount. That was a great explanation of the product and its a good value. That kit is the perfect addition to my hobby supplies.
Thanks Bendrix! Glad you did, and totally agree about the tail dragger, Except if you saw in my maidens, I was REALLY pushing it (backward, uphill, in the dark - this one was MY fault - LOL). P.S. Horizon Hobby didn't even ask, they shipped the new part asap.
Saw the fasteners, grabbed a bottle of Tequila and took a sip every time you said a variation of "hardware satchel" and boy did I have a good time! Thanks for the laughs. :)
Sweet simple straight forward repair. Having the proper tools and hardware is a big plus. I'm waiting for some company to send you a ball link plier so I don't have to watch you hopefully not break the link while installing or detaching. Then you can rave about it like you do your plane stand and driver set that (Tom?) sent to you. I did just order the two kits using your discount code. $42 discount, very nice.
I broke my Draco as well. The stabilizer became disconnected from the aft fuselage. I heard a very distinct snap when I installed it so I know it was installed properly. During the last flight it flew well until I lost elevator control. I think it’s totaled.
All of the red plastic control horns on my Draco came cracked right out of the box! I contacted Horizon and they sent a new tail wheel that I didn't ask for. I tried to explain to them that the plastic control horns and linkages are made of a very weak and brittle material not suited for airplanes. I've since replaced the controls with proven products. (Sullivan and Dubro) Also, the leading edge slats are designed wrong and mounted incorrectly. If you try a high alpha STOL landing the wing will tip stall!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Sorry to say that things have gotten worse. While landing, the left flap servo malfunctioned and lifted up causing the plane to roll left. I was about 6 ft. off the ground. I had a GoPro Hero 7 mounted in the passenger seat area looking out the right window. The GoPro telemetry showed that I had a ground speed of 18-20 MPH. I was flying into a 5-10 MPH head wind. I applied full right aileron and increased throttle, but the wing tip stalled and the plane cart rolled into the ground. I've since seen other RUclips videos with flap servos twitching up and down.
UMX GURU HOW COULD YOU Brian Phillips .............I gotta hit the like button and watch your maiden. Wanna say I watched some of it and you said you were NOT going to mess with the reversing of the engine.
hi brian, i am having a lot of trouble with my front wheel on the draco. it is rubbing against the shock on takeoff and i cannot fly it. i tried replacing the axle and the fork. nothing is working. the wheel is actual toeing outward so when you try to taxi it spins to that one side and i stop it. nothing looks bent but something is definitely wrong with the left wheel. any advice?
First off, sorry for my slow reply James! I tired about 4 days ago or so, but my web browser has a new bad habit of blocking my access to reply to a comment after it fails to ever publish one I just typed out (it shows a spinny-circle think, like it's loading my reply, but never does...). I suspect you have a broken Carbon Fiber landing gear thingy...sorry, I don't know what it's called ( bit.ly/3qdfkeA ), thus allowing this excessive TOE OUT. This will definitely flip you Draco every time you go to taxi. I'd hit up HH about this, and see if they'll help you out. I don't know the circumstances of your situation, but this is a premium plane, and I would expect premium quality.
Hey brian my friend is getting the eflite corsair 1.2m or the p-47 1.2m which one should he get? The retractable landing gear on the Corsair look amazing though. But the P 47 has missiles and bombs he can’t decide. he’s getting it today sometime so respond quickly please!
How do you hook up the Light control board? I cannot find any wiring diagram anywhere. I Am Going crazy. Maybe do a quick show and tell video. My wiring was wired wrong from the manufacture and had overheating of the wires and wouldn't bind until I started pulling wire from the Lightboard,
Good video, not sure about the reverse thrust option but the plane is on my want list, the fasteners are of interest but shipping anything to Canada is an expensive ordeal.
Hey Brian had an issue with my Draco hit the motor reverse switch instead of the safe switch wanted to try safe on a landing.....Well you know what happened next she went into reverse and then straight down. I was prolly about 20 foot off the ground so no time to recover. What type of glue would you recommend using to repair some of the foam around the area where the wing spar slides through and the wing plug ins. Its not that bad the part of the fuse where the spar slides thro is a little messed up, broke the spar, prop, and prolly needs a new motor. Just looking for a strong bond in that area with those large wings. Thanks
Brian what are your thoughts using the Bob Smith Industries foam cure in the blue bottle? Its says flexible on the label and has me second guessing if that would even work well for this application?
The foam safe CA and kicker that i use will turn white too! I hate it.....I use the purple and white bottle I forget who it's from maybe Great plains I'm not sure but a lot of the stuff I work on will have that white residue also when I use kicker ....you actually have to use kicker with this brand of ca for it to actually cure properly but yeah I hate the way that it dries up. For parts that no one's really going to see and where I need a lot of strength I will actually use gorilla glue super glue and baking soda I have not had one part break that I've done that too crazy awesome gets hard instantly

Sorry he got the p-47 razorback and he flew it and the trim was set wrong And full down elivator and it would still be nose up about 20 degrees and was almost tip stalling! Finally 😬 we safely landed in a rush
Richard Webb - There's a TON of pieces in these two kits. Have you priced hardware lately for ANYTHING else....it's ALL crazy. Prices are ALL going through the roof.
Garage928 - Why do you say it's crap? I can see an opinion about being overpriced, but you say "crap" - why??? You ever buy a single bolt at Menards, or Home Depot, or Lowes??? It's like $2 for a bolt... If you buy a small 2 lbs box, it's like $10 nowadays. These bolts are not free, that's for sure, but you're acting like it's a ripoff...I totally disagree. Have you ever bought ONE bolt from the HOBBY SHOP?!?!? You need a second mortgage for that bolt!
Perfect example of the usefulness of these fastener kits. I just placed another order with RTL using your discount code. As always, thanks much for sharing (and thanks for the 30% discount!) Steve
Awesome, thank you stuff! They've saved my bacon 4 times already!!! I've fixed my F-16 3X and this Draco, thankfully only once! I haven't noticed any issue. There are plenty of issues people have found about the Draco, but I love it. Amazing plane, and very nice. I wish they were all this nice, but it's also very expensive. I want a scale commercial airliner like this plane ;)

I like my draco but it is fragile and doesnt fly that great. The shocks are cheap junk. They could have done this better and should have made it bigger. just my opinion.
