Title: "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace"ep62-1
The road to becoming an empress is paved with treachery. Ruyi (Zhou Xun) is a consort who quickly learns to navigate the treacherous politics of the the royal court and move up the ranks. After becoming Empress, Ruyi still must survive the many conspiracies against her. Her relationship with Emperor Qianlong (Wallace Huo) becomes eroded even when Ruyi is able to overcome the challenges. Can Ruyi maintain her role as Empress under such difficult circumstances? “Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace” is a 2018 Chinese drama series directed by Wang Jun. It is adapted from the novel Hou Gong Ru Yi Zhuan by Liu Lianzi and is a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2011 television drama “Empresses in the Palace.”

This drama is the best I’ve ever seen. The way the Emperor staggered back and became pale when he heard the news of Jingse’s passing made me realize that I couldn’t walk even one day in his shoes. He had to stand completely alone on the summit, while enduring all the backstabbing politics and unpreventable tragedies and inevitable wars of the state, coupled with his concubines framing one another and killing off each other’s children. Who knows how one traumatic event after another can affect one after 20 years of reign?
I wonder how much was his own creation though? If everything was based on his favour?
As much as I don't like the emperor there are times I felt pity for him. It must've took a toll on his mental heallth,
My heart sank when the the Empress screamed out her child's name. She loved everyone even if they hated her but she loved her children so much more then anything. She lost a lot but her children was the last straw. I really take huge fat pity for the empress. The daughter was way too young and ill but mostly innocent.
Ruyi went thru pure Hell. And she still only showed love and respect to the emporer, which he truly did not deserve Ruyi. Her heart was Love, purity and Truth only.
The Emporer did not treat her fair.
I sooo agree w u!
Ruyi was the only one he couldn't break. Control.
And even in the end, he failed
He tried to erase her from history, yet we still know and love her
I honestly lost count of how many babies and children died bcuz of all the scheming and jealousy of that poisonous harem😔
Dozens from the show.. hundreds unaccounted for in history since they don’t value female lives.. since he has unlimited noble ladies and attendants.
Countless.. despite all the lavish life style in the palace, living there is a living hell..conspiracies are in every corner..
Like I said before and will at again, this is why you should never ever have a Harem, because the children will most likely suffer because of these jealous woman, but then again it's not there fault but the stupid emperor.
@@TheHattaru It's not the emperor's fault that he grew up in an environment that values men having lots of women and lots of children. It was considered disrespectful to your family to refuse the opportunity to have as many kids as possible with lots of wives, and I think he would have been looked down upon and even risk losing his position, facing the disdain of his family, if he hadn't played by the rules. Also, it's not like he always gets to choose his own women.
@@catinabox3048 from all these Imperial dramas I’ve watched, the Empress is rarely someone the Emperor loved. She is usually the woman with the most powerful family connections. The Emperor’s true love is usually relegated to be one of his lesser wives. It is rarest Empress meet all three categories: being the Emperor’s favorite, being beautiful, and being from an influential family. The Emperor is lucky to get two out of the three.
She was innocent of this particular incident but she did so much other evil stuff that she had it coming
At least she now knows how it feels to be framed for a crime she didn't commit when during the beginning she framed so many for crimes they didn't do in the past
@@Sakura-os4rtactually she didn’t really frame anyone. She planted seeds for people to do the dirty work no framing just influencing.
@@senpailee1967 she did frame ruyi with the help of the former queen and other concubines and not to mention she didn't just frame ruyi once it was twice
@@Sakura-os4rt sorry forgot about her bracelet framing my bad but besides that she mainly borrowed hands
@@senpailee1967 it's fine we all forgot something besides Jia also framed ruyi for having a affair with with the high priest monk
The way they thanked their mother, OMG I never squealed so hard due to cuteness overload...especially Jingsi!!! ;_;
I'm surprised Rongpei didn't slap the dog away, mid-air. Usually she has reflexes like a hawk!
Lmaooooooo
🤣🤣🤣 Yall play too much.
I know Jia was our antagonist and everything, but she was definitely calculated against with almost viper-like ruthlessness. Ling was waiting for this chance. It was probably better that the mixup happened because the princess was bound to die. Ling killed two birds with one stone still, since this is the precursor to Ruyi and Hongli falling out.
Yep. You noticed how Ling was the one to suggested the red outfit to the prince instead of the princess? And how she first started blaming Jia after the emperor slapped her? Man, that little maid was VERY cunning.
At this point I feel bad for jia being framed.. she was just focused on being a mom to her son :(
@@20PINKluvr And she loved her dogs too. You noticed how genuinely surprised she was that her dog got out and heart broken when the emperor tried to take them away from her
What really got me is how confused Jia looked when she saw that her dog had gotten out. If the Emperor had actually listened to her testimony, then he would have known that she didn't let the dog run wild and is thus absolved from blame.
Right! Consort Ling was behind this. When Consort Qing was given the fabric from Consort Jia, it was Ling who told Qing to make clothes for the Empress' children. The real target of the attack was the prince Yonggi, as Ling was the one to suggest that he wears the red clothes. But bc the kids switched, that's what lead to Jingse being attacked. Ling's servent was the one most likely to lead the dog to the garden. What is happening to Jia is what happened to Ryui when she got blamed for killing two other consort's infants.
No matter, think of all Jia had done to harm & frame others up to that point in time.
Even if the dog got out without her knowledge it’s her dog it’s her responsibility her dogs already tormented so many people barking and trying to go after people the princess nearly got scared to death the first time she was able to keep 1 of her many dogs as long as she keeps in under control look it ended up killed the princess
He was always 5 steps too late when it came to his harem.
She deserved to be framed. How many times was she absolved of crimes she committed? How many people suffered because of her framing them?
All in all, Noble Consort Jia did have it coming. She plotted and framed others for her own goods many times, and tribulations are piling back on her one by one.
What's more, she basically offended the whole harem with her ambitions and rude words all the time, and this is not helped by the fact that she has absolutely no ally whom she can depend on after Ruyi became the Empress. Being overly cautious proved to be her downfall all along.
She shouldve tried to patch things up with Ruyi
香風智乃 Indeed, not to mention pull herself back together and ally with Ruyi to deal with Consort Ling.
She didn’t do it for herself she did it for that useless clan leader
It makes me a terrible person but I laughed my ass off when that corgi thing jumped and all you saw was the baby fall over.
In his deep sorrow he walks not on the steps up to see them, he walks upon that area that none should walk on
Am I the only who is thinking that the emperor is being really stupid by yelling right outside his very easily startled, and currently very sick, daughter's room? Like I understand that he's upset and everything but I can't imagine that helped any chance she had for recovery.
I know! It bothered me that he left Ruyi's side at the moment she needed him most. I get that he's upset but he had to have noticed how distraught Ruyi was.
Why is no one talking about how empiror dove to land a slap on Jia's face.
Yo! Like I know of this she is innocent but its soo good to see her slapped again
This has my fav scene (the kids being cute over their clothes) and the saddest scene (poor princess). Glad Jia got punished, it's knowing Ruyi’s relationship with the emperor goes down from the 5th princess’s death... just makes it worse
Actually the incontrollable dog was stolen and trained by Consort Ling with the aim to bite the 12th prince, however accidentally scared the princess to death and the imperial concubine Ying to miscarriage. Consort Ling was intended to impute the mistake by scheming these things and Noble Consort Jia was falsely accused this time.
@@孝欽顯皇后葉赫那拉氏 did the Emperor find out that ling was behind it
@@Dee-cs6jp yes but very much later when everything imperial consort ling did was exposed
It was not the 5th Princess' death, it was the death of Ruyi's second son that led to the downfall of their relationship.

The actress that plays Jia is such a good actress.
I honeslty love the music at 9:30 as terribly sad as it is. I wish I were able to find it. 💖
The emperor does suck however most relationships can’t survive the loss of a child. And he lost many children. It doesn’t excuse his behavior but even in modern society losing a child usually pulls apart the relationship
I honestly think the acting during Jingsi's death was some of the best in the show, it gives me chills every time.
Now you know what it's like to be framed Jia.

But Emperor, you said she could keep the dang dog! Oh my. Maybe Jingse would still be alive if he banned Jia from having dogs??
The acting in this drama is so good!!!!
Since I'm a dog lover, I feel sorry for the dog and the kid too of course.
I felt bad for Concubine Qing. She never caused problems in the harem nor did she schemed against the others concubines yet she was involved with the princess's death just because she gifted the cloth to Ruyi in order to gain her favor.
Can someone please tell me if there is more to that bas relief sculpture at the stairs of many of the buildings in The Forbidden city than just beauty? No one ever walks on them. In this episode the Emperor does - but I think it was totally without awareness that he was doing that. He just had to go inside and while he couldn't rush - he went the most direct route. He had to go see for himself. He had to comfort the mother of his daughter, and his Empress. Nothing else was in his mind. Except - his daughter!
Wonderful acting in this scene!
Those carvings represent the power of heaven, and only the Emperor is allowed to walk over them. The really huge one at the center palace was carved from one giant slab of stone, and only the Emperor was allowed ever to be carried over it up the stairs to the main hall, as he is the son of heaven and the dragons carved onto it represent heaven. I am pretty sure him walking up that carving is supposed to represent his grief at his daughter passing away and going to heaven perhaps, I am not fully sure. Since this is the only time he was shown walking directly on top of the carving, I am assuming it is because of grief.

This Ling aka Arou 2.0. I dont care for her. Jia is a better villain. I really cant believe Ruyi, Yu and Chun never picked on the fact that the death was made for 12 prince and Ling should have been a suspect for suggesting RED for the prince from their earlier conversation.
I feel remourse for the empress. She loved her daughter a lot and to be striped from her child at a innocent age. I know it was the last straw with everything from the empress' point of view. I hope that empress, princess, prince and emperor are all together. But mostly all the innocent people are together in their new home.

Someone please? Is there any significance to the emperor walking on the engraved riser or whatever it is called. I ask because the camera made a point of focusing on it.
Wondering the same thing
How many children actually lived to old age??????????? They keep dying
Not many, if you think how bad healthcare was back then as well. They had no proper medicine, and a common cold could grow deadly very easily. They lived in China where it gets very cold in winter, and their palaces had paper screen windows and the only sources of heat were braziers, so it was probably much easier to catch an illness. I think the life expectance back then as well was in the 40s, being considered old at that point.

Yes.. 5th Princess was her 1st daughter & only daughter.

That was really unbelievable not believable that that dog bite her to death. All those people around to stop the attack. That was a small dog the damage it could do is maybe bite the little you would not die from that especially with all those people around.
The girl was born with a heart problems, she got panic attacks from anything that startled her. She was sheltered and protected from anything that could trigger her scare inside her mother`s care, but outside anything was strange and scary. She was shocked into a panic attack by the dog which jumped at her, she was also a six year old child I believe, and to be honest any child is scared shitless at the sight of a vicious dog coming straight. Also her father yelling and beating Jia outside was another factor which scared her to death.
I really feel bad for consort Jia... All the conspiracy and crimes she commited only got paid for those by actually not doing anything this time but getting framed by consort Ling who was her maid and got humiliated and bullied by consort Jia... Karma is a bitch indeed...
Poor dogs were Innocent nasty humans make them do that. What you think the dog was gonna out you so you snapped it neck?! It’s probably for the best though who knows what they would’ve done to the poor dog otherwise. I’m sure JIA would’ve been able to tell also what was wrong with dog or that it was not hers to begin with if it was still alive. I like how in yangxi palace show it was rescued.
I can definitely see why story of yanxi palace is the more favorable drama. Ling fei had kids the step empress did not( they died prematurely 😭) . This also doesn't really make sense to make ling fei the villain . The show writers Did an okay job.
They are both baised on real history so they are just diffrent interpretation's
Why doesn't it make sense to make ling fei the villain?
the history records are vague, like there is no official answer to why almost all records of Ruyi's time being empress are gone and why was she buried in a non-empress way. Both shows try to fill in the gaps and decided to make it sound like one of them was a "good person turned-villain" and the other a clever heroine. Even how they depict the other concubines is different, so really it's all up to interpretation why things happened in the forbidden city (who hated who, who killed who etc).
Yeah history says Xian Ruyi has a surviving son, kept safe as the last of Nara bloodline.
“died” could mean natural, suicide, murder, homicide.. so premature death is suspect of foul play, competitiveness of the Harem and scheming consorts.. down to maids..and eunuch. These people needs to be given a job.. lol.
Consort Yu said that she harmed two princesses??? Who is other one?

After akk that she has done? She deserves to suffer.
MusicFreax she had a good reason; she wanted to bring honor to her home country of Joseon and please her true love the King of Joseon
She’s intelligent; she could’ve survived longer if she chose to stop.
She also should’ve let go of her feelings and moved on. The King of Joseon may have had some feelings for her (I think they grew up together and dated at some point before she was sent away to become Qianlong’s concubine), but he was completely willing to abandon her when she lost the game.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
All these poor babies that have died in this show. It's honestly the worst part
In reality, is it Consort Ling who let that dog attack Jing Se ?

These Emperor's kill me, like how do you not K of that this is happening in your home, the overwhelming deaths of children, the sceming of women in the palace, everyone of these women wants to be empress or wants there son to be emperor, like come on, this is why you don't have a harem, anyone of these ladies or I should say concubines can be the next empress, sad really, the emperor is extremely stupid.
You have to realize that in Ancient China the Emperor has more important affairs to attend to like Political matters and State affairs. He has many important daily decisions to make like military planning strategy and Daily bureaucratic meetings regarding his Empire. The last thing on his mind is dealing with the Harems affairs which is why it was up to the Empress to be
in charge of the Harem. If he was so busy attending to these Harem of womens daily activities , then i doubt his Empire would survive and be as glorious as it is. The man is not stupid and is quite clever. The Qianlong Emperor was a Military leader who led many military expansions by extending the Chinese territory and made lots of great Cultural Achievements during his lifetime as the Qianlong Emperor. I'm sure your looking at this from a womans view point, but as a man he has to served the People and his Country first. If he did get involved with all these dramas with the harems i'm sure he would have been so already stressed out. And really the point of him having a lot of Harem is too release his stress as a man ,
Ugh this is awful. Ruyi deserved to keep Jingsi

it odd, i cant find information about the princess anywhere. apparently there was those died at age 45. which obviously isnt true cuz she was a child. anyone know where i can find information of the characters in general because im very curious of the accuracy and as a teaching... to show what tyrants and despot... even what narcisists do.. to show the pain and suffering it does to the innocent. especially the innocence of children. it very sad what people do to gain power, attention, money... this show really gives good teachings but also expresses the suffering people went through... i honestly feel terrible for what the females went through... they were only used as baby makers... not seen for there true souls.. for the sake of the emperor and burial
This show is inspired by historical events but is not very accurate. In this show the first empress was evil and plotting, but in reality Empress XIaoxian was good, virtuous and beloved by the emperor, the empress dowager and the consorts.
In this show Ruyi was the childhood love of the emperor, but in reality there was a 7 year age gap between them and it would have been impossible for a 16/17 year old dude to marry a 10 year old girl and fall for her in the first place. The Emperor loved the first Empress as a soulmate or a wife. It is said he became an insomniac and stressed after the first empress passed.
If I recall correctly empress Xian - Ruyi had a daughter who died in infancy, this baby did not had a name, I do not know why maybe Ancient Chinese custom.

What if all the concubine were nice from the beginning and then they just got instigated which turned them into evil
Sadly, harem is just that kind of place. No matter how kind and pure you were at the beginning, to survived harem life (and to those who lucky enough to be mother, to ensure their kid's well being), you got to be cunning and ruthless of needed.
Those who remain innocent and kind were the ones who either died earlier or faded into background and just become kind of ghost inside her palace, forgotten by everyone.
@@vivanyatodd5036 well I say it's better than beging a threat and possibly get killed by a jealous concubine, so beging faded and everyone kind of forgetting g you are there is not bad in my opinion, at least you will survive.
@@TheHattaru That's as long as the servanta didn't forget to bring you necessary stuffs, like, woods for winter or winter clothes.
