yo please don't let people blind you into thinking the new show Dragons Rising is some new Ninjago peak. Like its watchable, but ever since s11 our Ninjas have been just done dirty in terms of character focus and development. Pilots thru S9 is peak for me but the Pilots - S5 is unbeatable . Im 21 and all I hear is kids saying how good the new stuff is...... like bro you weren't there in 2012, shit was different. Kai, Jay and Zane are some bots now and they barely focus on the ogs anymore, especially in Dragons Rising.

Classic Ninjago is goated but so is the newer seasons. All I hear from this video is hate and zero real arguments. Please watch the Dragon and Oni trilogy. Please watch Season 11 Ice Chapter. Please watch Ninjago Master of the Mountain and SeaBound. Please watch Ninjago Dragons Rising. Everything I listed is PEAK fiction and I can’t imagine you hating that because it’s SOO good!

Dude you are allowed to have an opinion. The second I clicked on the video I knew so many kids were gonna say how the newer stuff is "PEAK". Like its all subjective, what you don't like other people might like. The quality of sets went say down. They used to put so much more effort into those sets and it really shows. They are just money farming it seems like. The viewership fell off for a reason no matter what the overwhelming younger new fanbase says
Just wanna say I am a much more committed fan then a lot of these people commenting yapping about how Dragons Rising is peak. I've spent thousands of dollars on my Ninjago collection, and have watched the show more times than I can count. (The older stuff... much much more) I remember being 9 years old on the floor of my room watching the pilots over and over again whenever I got the chance. You can call it nostalgia you can call it blind hate I call it an opinion of someone who has been a diehard fan since the beginning. Grown a lot since then, stopped and starting watching the show again as I grew, and can say easily the show falls off after Season 9, Hunted. Yes, if you do not care about the original 4 Ninjas past character development and future progression, than dragons rising sure is promising! People will give the excuse we need to move on and let the old characters give new ones time to shine, but nobody cares when the ninjas we've loved for years are just straight up shells of their former selves. Kai, the original main character by the way, and fan favorite, is still the only Ninja to not defeat a major season villain on his own. They way we are heading Arin and Sora will be more powerful and important than him. Pathetic
nah this is the biggest yap i've ever seen, the new show is soo hype. I'm like 10x more hyped for this than I was when I was for the first seasons and I'm a freaking adult
Dragons rising season 2 is one of the best seasons
trust gang i was a fan since the start and stopped watching cuz of the redesigns, but when jay was announced to be a villain i came back and watched all the season and Ninjago is still gas. season 8 gets better towards the end, i def should have given it a chance back then

I personally don’t have any problems with the show as of late. It’s always helping sell Lego and never had any competition to bring it down.
I don’t know what you’re talking about, but Ninjago is still going on strong. Dragons Rising, the Oni Trilogy, and the amazing sets such as Cole’s Titan Mech. Heck, the fanbase is still kicking. It’s not as loud as other fandoms, but they’ve got some impressive stuff. Even the animation is as great as it’s ever been.
Ngl, Ninjago probably passed it's peak a while ago, and like any long running tv show it's had it's ups and downs, but overall it's still going pretty solid imo anyway. Also not aimed at this video in particular, but do the design changes really affect the quality of the show? Like straight up basically everyone changes their look in real life all the time and its considered pretty normal, but as soon as the characters look a bit different the show is immediately unwatchable, like frfr

No it has not fell off and old ninjago is absolutely not perfect at all s7 is literally a huge example of it with its bad administration and bad writing and a boring plot and slowing the pacing ti make the season feel so boring and I'm not even going to talk about how most if the fights in that season are just basically fast paced Minecraft ahhh fights
The oni trilogy is one of ninjago's best eras and the fact that people quit the show faster than the flash is kinda sad that they're willing to let other things change but not ninjago yet irl everything changes including shows lika avatar the last airbender, gravity falls, adventure time, transformers etc.
The oni trilogy gives amazing in depth character development, world building, fight scenes, emotional moments, plot twists and voice performances literally so peak and honestly most of the new designs are better because at least they don't look like npcs compared to most of the old ones
Say what you want about the 11 minute era but they gave us some of the best animated fight scenes in the series and master of the mountain and seabound are really good seasons that gives us great in depth character development and some humour its great even the villains are not even that bad in those two seasons
Now dragons rising is definitely the next peak of the franchise with it being a sequel series to the original show with the best animated fight scenes and the best cinematography in the series its amazing, its beautiful it. And the fact that dragons rising is actually seasonalised meaning that you need to watch the first season to watch the next season to understand what is going on is great and when the merge hits and every realm has come together into one and sending everyone into different places is such a risk that Ninjago needed and even the villains such as ras is honestly one of the best villains to exist in ninjago. Not only that but characters like kai which alot of people had problems with lately actually had something to do something that made him kai from what he was in the old seasons like giving attention to the sibling bond with kai and nya and its great for kai and him being like a father of sorts to a character name wyldfyre in dragons rising and it really develops him so much and he sees her as younger version of himself so then kai can teach wyldfyre the same lessons he has learned from wu do she can overcome her character flaws that she has to become a better character and being a good mentor to the other new characters that has joined the ninja team and there is an established flaw kai has which is himself which he learns to overcome that flaw to learn a new fighting technique. Lloyd becoming a master is something that needed to happen at some point and thank god we did after what happened with him in s7. Dragons rising Lloyd having to grow in the role of being a teacher beyond his own responsibilities as the leader of the ninja team and now investing alot if his energy into becoming a master of the monastery and training up the next generation and its great especially since some of the members become mentors tooand shows how much they have learned from so many years of experience and as a long time fan of the original series I'm glad to see them progress like this like when they're losing control of the dragons for an example Lloyd sates that they need to gain control of them so innocent people won't get hurt while they escape it really calls back to sons of garmadon after finding out about what happened to harumi it really changes Lloyd of how he operates as a ninja its really cool to see callbacks like this and yeah there are nice callbacks from the old seasons like them calling back to the pilots when lloyd starts training arin and sora and also being very relatable in the latest season too
Arin and sora are amazing characters with Arin being kinda like a representation of old Ninjago fans and sora being like a representation of new ninjago fans really makes you relate with them. And with sora always doubting herself about not being a ninja and that she doesn't have an elemental power to then having that confidence within herself and unlocking her true potential is such a good development for her especially when you learn about her backstory. Arin goes from optimistic about being a ninja when learning a new form of spinjitzu to then doubting himself and not knowing how his spinjitzu works but luckily Lloyd tries to guide him and help him with his power but he always keeps missing up which I like that it really gives him a wake up call that being a ninja is not easy by the end of dragons rising s1 and it dragons rising s2 part 1 it continues after 1 year he still keeps messing up but I'm not going to spoil too much
And dragons rising is just so good and I'm excited to see dragons rising s2 part 2 since we're getting a tournament again which its going to be a nice callback and I like how its seems like its going to be different and I'm here for it.
Ras as a villain is amazing especially with his worldview and his dynamics with other characters and I love how he parallels to the other ninja it's a pretty cool touch not only that but I love how the writers, the voice performance and animators came together to show us that ras is a walking talking tiger, you can hear him growd at somr points, you can see him go on all fours and that he also has natural night vision and just make him so an animalistic vibe to him and its amazing especially since he's a humanoid tiger. And not just that he's also a good manipulator too like he sees characters insecurities and exploits it for his personal gain is just really good. His impact with characters of the show is just well done when you see it in action and it really gives like a menacing vibe that he's a villai you should not mess with and I absolutely love that it's even shown ina combat against Lloyd (btw one of the best fight scenes in the series ngl can't wait to see a rematch in dr s2)
Honestly i could go on and on but I'm going to stop there but I do suggest giving Ninjago s8 - s10, s11 - crystalized and especially especially dragons rising since its been nominated for a good amount of awards and has been top 10s on netflix around the group and most of them are not the kid sections of top 10s but the normal version of netflix

nah blud really called one of the best seasons the worst, bro season 8 to 10 was absolute peak (especially to garmadon lovers), they may not be as nostalgic as the older seasons but hell, who caaares, if it's good it's GOOD.
+ i don't get the hate on the redesigns, i've personally adored them since all of them desperately needed a makeover. love the classic designs, but come on man, enough with the pointless hate. - that goes to everyone btw.
I watched the whole thing 10 time new seasons and old seasons
My issue is that the redesign killed the old charm of the show, the charm, and the vibe that many people grew up with. Until the movie came out, and for the sake of synergy, most of the visual and story wise aspects were changed to resemble the movies like the disappearance of airjitzu and the elemental dragons, the coincidencental appearance of garmadon in his "evil side" and the drastic downhill change towards the characters of some of the ninja like kai and jay for example. The redesigns were only part of the problem.
Sons of garamdon isn't a bad season, but despite its phenomenal writing and symbolism, it's far from perfect. At the end of the day, this is your opinion, and dont let anyone change that unless you want to.
airjitzu and elemental dragons weren't removed because of the movie, they were removed because Tommy Andreasen wanted to nerf the ninja from being too overpowered. of course after he left ninjago, we got rising dragon technique which is easily better than both airjitzu and elemental dragons combined
the redesigns gave more personality to the ninja than before, back then the old designs weren't bad by any means (excluding for nya and wu), they just felt like basic lego minifigures. the redesigns may be hated by a bunch of nostalgia merchants, but they are def better than the previous designs, the only new design i have problems with is zane's human cloak design and that's pretty much it
also, kai never fell off, he was never flanderized or anything like that. seasons 9, 10, 11 and dragons rising seasons 1 & 2 proved that very well. we just didn't see kai get as much spotlight as he did before, that's why it felt like he was flanderized, otherwise he isn't. speaking of jay, jay was hit or miss in seasons 11-15 though dragons rising feels like its gonna handle jay really well
@ChickenTablet yeah, but we didn't get a reason as to why they got removed, and I'm not talking about the overpoweredness reason, I'm talking about the canon reason. And don't get me started on the "way of the departed" book. It's a could-be canon story with a poor excuse for abandoning such useful abilities.
And on kai, I strongly disagree. There were numerous moments in the show where I was face palming due to the poor display of kais character, like when he was trying to be too humorous in the oni trilogy and his reluctance to give up his powers to lloyed in order to save him. (Unless it's that one scene in season 10 where he reforges the golden weapons, which has nothing to do with his character development because we even didn't get to see him improving at being a blacksmith, we just saw the final result). I haven't watched dragons rising, but hopefully, what you're saying is true about kai in Dragon's rising because I'm disappointed in him so far.
And for the redesigns, like I said, they were only part of the problem as the locations, garmadons return, new weapons, and the absence of certain abilities overall contribute to the feeling that the season is just a darker twist on the movie. It's like mixing pizza and ice cream. They don't mix. On the other hand, if the movie didn't exist. It would feel much more like an improvement rather than a synergy

Seasons 8 and 9 are some of the best seasons in the show! The storyline is amazing, even if the character designs changed. Like its really annoying when people saying ninjagos last good season was S7 cuz it had the old designs, even tho S7 wasnt even good. Also ninjago isnt on a downfall, sure its not as popular as it use to be. But its still doing well, with a large fan base and it even becoming a Netflix Original show. The animation in the newer seasons is insane, better than ever before, in every season it just gets better! And the new seasons have original storylines, just like you said at 5:16, you indeed are a hater.
