Massive house and property but I'm not seeing where that $180 million price tag is coming from. Nothing looks that amazing, or spectacular to justify that cost. I couldn't even understand the price if it were $80m!
It is absurdly overpriced - the house next door is 188M but comes with 30M in cars and 20M in art installations. Jay and Beyonce bought a similar McClean home half a mile away for 88M. This interior is barren and uninteresting.

It really comes down to a bunch of things. 1. The demand to live in LA especially the hillside is very high; so people will pay almost any price to do so. 2. This house does seem to have a great view and it’s in a pretty good location.
What a lot of people don’t realize in real estate is: you’re not just paying for the house your paying for the location and prime land it’s under as well.

It is the location and views that really add to the cost. Space in Bel Air is pretty limited so that is why it comes at a premium cost. And that is your opinion which a totally respect.
I will have this house one day. Beautiful location, has the right touch of modern without being over dramatically modern like the next door $250M house (I like that house as well, just would rather take this one) . Mark my words, I will have this house.

The house called “Billionare” changed from 250ml to 188 ml, not 180 ml, so as of now it still holds the title as most expensive, we just have to wait for the one house to finish constructing and then the house will be beaten/

i think it depends on the meticulousness of the customer hahah (e.g. my parents weren't happy with a benchtop that was off by 2mm so they ripped it out) my house is approx 5400 sq ft and almost everything was built from materials from europe (e.g. tiles, floorboards etc.) which makes it 10x more time consuming waiting weeks or months for materials to arrive to australia ... i think building on the sydney coast is fairly time consuming as of the high demands... tradesman are in no rush to finish a job ha. i think also when a modern home is built to look from a certain era (mid-century) the design process without professional designers takes ages - rather than mass developing modern template homes they have.... i still don't think this justifies 5 years tho !!! hahahah

People talking about price but never thinked that this house has very expensive materials. Price can come from how it's built too. Not just what you see here. By the way to build this house you will need a lot of workers that need to be paid for its job so price isn't that overpriced though.

1. The more expansive the materials, the more expansive the upkeep. Meaning a house like this need A LOT of staff 24/7 (even when not lived in)
2. The building quality on this house is indeed incredible, around 500$ per sqft. Which equivalent to 19 million.
The land is an extra 15 million, plus the cost for hiring Paul mcclean is another 400K.

In the estimate is charged the mobilization of the building, materials (if the materials are expensive obviously will pay more for it), the quantity per square inches/feet of those materials, the accesories (refrigerator, stove, furniture, etc.), the land per square feet, etc. You also have to pay the engineer who is going to build the house. Also is charged the construction materials that the workers will use during construction. So what are you talking about. You are calling me kid because of my low knowledge? We are in 2018.
