Magic in Mistletoe - I'm glad the town wasn't in a downturn and relied on the next book to save it. That would've gone too far. And I think casting someone who isn't as inherently funny as Paul would've made for a better Scrooge redemption.
Cherry Lane - I believe this was the ChristmasCon 2023 / USO premiere movie. An interesting experiment, and well done overall. I didn't understand why Brandi Alexander and a '70 Chevelle SS were the constants; that '73 ornament didn't seem to make it let alone some magical element. As for all the timelines, I combed through all of that and I was surprised it all made sense. And Winnie also played John Brotherton's costar in 'Lights Camera Christmas'
I love Paul dearly but did not care much for this movie. The magic in Mistletoe certainly wasn't there for me. It started off and ended strong but the in-between.... slow, boring, and little chemistry. And Paul's character had one too many unnecessary tantrums for my liking. It killed the mood and chemistry building between them. I did love Kim's cameo though. Yeah this one gets a 3.2. Cherry Lane was fun and different with the timelines...it did get a little thick to keep track of but the storylines made up for it. And oh goodness, that boy was insufferable not supporting his Mom's decision throughout the movie. That being said, it's a solid 3.5.
