/ The Wailers Band
R.I.P Carlton Barrett!
Azar 7834 I’d say the best. With no competition and no apology. He personifies spirituality through his roots style and that’s what reggae music is all about.
This drummer is not Carly my friend, hope you knew. One love

Spingbambam spiddeliediddelie Spingbambam, let me tell you bout my friend bla bla.... Meaningful, spiritual lyrics, yeah, right!
Bigup Aston barret 🙏
Big up mi blood fam...music ina di blood...
Junior wishes became True. He is the frontman
Mr music bass Aston family man
They tried to bring pop-reggae sound…Inner Circle did it better however…but in any case the basslines by Family Man in this vidoes are perfect as always, he was genius
fams is the only good thing about this... man show down is such a bad rip off of "ambush in the night"
kinda spazzy lol
They sound like Third World . What is this?
The percussion player is "Carrot", originally from Third world. But my guess is that this terrible poppy sound was juniors idea. He use to be a new York session player, showman. When Bob left us, he took over the vocals in his own way. Pure garbage as you can see. Some mix of crappy pop and Reggae. And a wannabe philosopher J murvin. Poor Family man.
Doesn't look nor sound organic with alla dem wearing fashionable clothing, and using plastic instruments. Nothing beats the real ital vibes propagated by Family man (Aston Barret ) jamming on his old bass guitar, and Wiya (Earl Lindo) on his classic keyboard and clavinet blessed by Jah. Junior Marvin is lacking the rootical pain and militant spirit that puts fiya inna the soul of NattyDread.
That last sentence
@Azar 7834 Crucial ! Aston Barret is the inventor of the One Drop beat style. Rest in Powa Carly.
FYI, when Steinbergers first appeared there were 4 models: H1, H2, L1, L2. designating high or low impedance and number of pickups, the L2 was most popular by far of the four.
L2 Steinberger basses are still known as to this very day to be among the top classic bass instruments used by reggae bass players. Musicians such as Robbie Shakespeare (Black Uhuru), Zeleke Gessesse (Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers) used them exclusively during the 80's.
Steinbergers were ideal because of their fat tone and sustain, the fact that they're made of graphite made them less detrimental to the affects of humidity and warping, they were light weight and easy to transport, besides, it's not the way they look nor is it the instrument that makes the sound organic, it's the players and musicians themselves.
Your comment contradicts itself, even though Family Man himself can be seen using a different bass brand than what you're probably use to seeing him playing doesn't mean the ital vibes are absent, he seems totally comfortable and in control playing with a headless bass so he's obviously had sessions on it before as it's not easy to switch from a full-bodied instrument to one half it's size.
Adjustments need to be made by the player to adapt to the size and scale of the instrument as you would know this if your were a musician that has played a variety of different brands, makes and models, but sadly it's obvious you're being judgemental relating their appearance rather than their music to their reggae sound.
@@rastanzI hear you my youth. You are right, I am not one a dem players of instruments mentioned ina di book of King James, but fo' shuh I remain the consumer and in that regard, I am the judge of the final product. I am not a fan of Robbie Shakespeare and his drumming friend Arol ! Watchout for the virus of Babylon and stay Spliffy. One love I-ya !
This is terrible.
