BMSEDG 36: Daratumumab: Implications in pre-transfusion testing

The Biomedical Scientist Empowerment, Education and Discussion Group (BMSEDG) is a virtual group aimed at those working in Transfusion, brought to you by the Patient Blood Management Team at NHS Blood and Transplant, hosted by Danny Gaskin, Selma Turković, Anas Nasir and Sasha Cooke.
We meet on the last Wednesday of every month and an expert speaker is invited to deliver a talk on on a special area in transfusion.
This session is delivered by Ashleigh Davies, Blood Transfusion Training Co-ordinator - Haematology Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Ashleigh explored Daratumumab and its implications in pre-transfusion testing. Ashleigh covered ABO basics, antibody screen and identification fundamentals, and how screening results for patients on Daratumumab can appear.
