I didn't know Kid Rock was even going to be at Rock am Ring until I got there. I grew up in Michigan and have known about him since 1987. Lars Ulrich was just off stage watching this performance. Kid Rock toured with Metallica after this.
I used to go to the clubs here in Detroit and see him(Before the world knew of him) and he's gotten better and better as he gets older.His music great but the best thing about him is that he is still down to earth.
I love that Kid Rock performs in a large range of different styles, as well as doing great live shows. As long as he's producing quality, I think it's great. The fans don't suffer from this. If you don't like one of his songs, don't listen to it. Move on. He's been doing a range of styles even in his earlier work. This isn't anything new. It does broaden his appeal, but that means more people can discover a great artist. People say "sell out" when they mean "made a song I don't like."
I guess when it came around to 2005 he stopped doing Hip Hop and Metal and went on to Country because he started getting older cause it was the time that Rap Metal and Hip Hop was losing it's style and started to be hated so he switched genre
