I believe Indian culture has the potential to promote peace and happiness. Just like everything else it cannot be adopted in entirety and there are reforms needed but we still have been blessed with many forms of art and lifestyle we got from our ancestors that are pro-peace and that celebrate life. However I do not agree with “modernization” version of the culture we see in media/entertainment industry. I do believe media/entertainment industry does provide a significant clue to social and cultural values of current day and that many times I see depleting. We need to preserve values that are modern in true educational sense and not superficial. Language in our media/entertainment is another red flag. There is a reason why we say modern times = stress. As far as cricket concerns; it’s definitely evolved as more of business than the sport itself. I have heard Hindi serials that showcase the politics, and corruption of varied sort related to the world of cricket. You could say it’s just a serial; I believe there is definitely some correlation to ground reality. Unethical cricket compensations is another clue.
